  1. True sangat is Guru Sahib. If Naam/Vaheguru is the love and center of your life, no bad sangat can pull you down. If everyone is capable of falling, the value of sangat cannot be that great to always keep someone eternally elevated. Guru Sahib is eternally with us, so we should put our hope and support in him. You can help an individual to strengthen their amritvela and sikhi but what happens when they stop doing sangat, they cannot do amritvela anymore and ultimately lose their sikhi? Amritvela should be solid, not a day should be missed even if we have no sangat. And Vaheguru should always be in our thoughts even while in maya- if we love him how can our thoughts lead us to go on a different path away from Vaheguru. In the end, it's just us, Guru Sahib and Vaheguru because we are all really alone and sangat cannot be there for us forever.
  2. There are still many other singhnia with facial hair that you can take inspiration from such as Balpreet Kaur. And you can still take inspiration from Harnaam Kaur even if she is not a sikh as you can admire her for her strength. I just personally think that as a role model to younger girls, who may be struggling with pcos, she should portray herself much better online and certain things should be kept private. As a side note, in a sikhi point of view you are allowed to be treated for severe pcos medically (not laser treatment) as long as the intent is right. It is also important to remember that as well as keeping the outwardly form as a sikh, we should be building our sikhi internally too by connecting ourselves with Guru Sahib through Naam and Bani. I don’t believe someone is able to leave sikhi when we build a strong connection with Guru Sahib because although we may try to look elsewhere Guru Sahib wouldn’t be able to leave us. Its a shame, you can tell from Harnaam Kaur’s social media that she is primarily focusing on relationships when in fact she doesn’t realise that she is looking for Vaheguru who will love and understand her fully. But each to their own.
  3. I agree that she shouldn't be wearing a dastar as she is no longer a sikh. It is very disrespectful and embarrassing to other singhnia and Sikhs in general. For example, she drinks alcohol, dances and displays/discusses sexual-content openly etc and non-sikhs will think that is what Sikhs do. It doesn’t matter if she openly says she isn’t religious anymore because she looks like a sikh. But truthfully what can you do? The only way to tackle this is not to give amrit away so freely but to test the individual’s spiritual dedication to naam and bani. Btw, it's not very nice to say she has gone mad or is possessed.
  4. Nothing disturbing about this. He shouldn't need to mention his relationship with Guru Sahib just to convince other Sikhs that he is fully devoted. His relationship with Guru Sahib could be stronger than most users here and you are judging him before you even know him. Even if he is fascinated with Vaheguru’s creation, doesn’t mean he can’t hold any desire and love for Vaheguru. This is good for Sikhs and I too wish him the best of luck.
  5. I hope you're not being serious saying that. It's not racist, just a harmless joke. He made an open mockery of himself and made me laugh. Most people can tell who is a proper sikh from those who are not.
  6. No point assuming that singhs are perfect either, I know plenty of sikh girls that have been abused by so called amritdhari singhs at a young age. Also just look at the number of rape cases in India. I recently read a news article that a japanese woman was gang raped when she went to India and was held hostage for weeks. Vile actions exist everywhere. They should be properly dealt with.
  7. They should also bring the death penalty back. It's the best punishment, her life is a waste and it will put fear in others.
  8. simran345 Ji, The freedom of choice is important. No one should be forced to live a certain lifestyle. Neither should you be afraid for that mentality to be brought on youngsters. I'm one of those people who do not want marriage but believe family life (not marriage) is important. I believe children should be with their family more than their friends. They should learn to build a stronger bond with their family and their Mother and father. I believe the child should help their mother with house hold work, including their son (with the cooking, cleaning). This will build a lot of qualities in our children and will make them learn a lot in life. Kids learn nothing from kids (i.e. their friends) which is why our youth do not have discipline. Does this mean I do not understand family value? People like us have a laptop in our hands because we work for it. It doesn't fall from the sky. I don't use my parents to buy me stuff, I'd rather give money to them. If you love your parents and they love you, they will always understand you and they will be happy with your happiness, even if you do not want to get married as they will be proud you are a good person.
  9. SikhKosh Ji, Guru Gobind Singh Jee encouraged that military action should be last resort and should be avoided unless all other efforts prove useless. My opinion is that if we were to take military action we should take things lawfully and fairly, and fight against oppression on our own land, not in another’s country. However, my concern is that since we have no rule or power in India (like we did in Guru Sahib's time), we would only be repeating history. Even though our protests are not making a major impact, it is giving the Indian government more fear because just look at what they did to Bhai Gurbaksh Singh during his hunger strike- they arrested him to subdue any attempts to get justice and they have been avoiding media coverage on this too. They know that if their oppression and injustices towards Sikhs were exposed, everyone would be aware of the corruption of India and that Sikhs are in fact innocent. But if we did take out a fight, they will be more than happy since they know that this will be our failure and disgrace, and it will prove their lie the “truth”. Always let the other side draw out the sword first. I can provide examples of Gurmukhs like Baba Harnaam Singh and Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh who also believed in this same concept. I hope this is clear ji,
  10. If you want to help the sikhs in India, do things peacefully or else there will be more deaths of Sikhs (including children). Sikhs have no power or rule in India, so nothing will go in our favour. Keep faith in Vaheguru.
  11. Killing Lieutenant-General Kuldeep would not give Sikhs justice as it would only make things worse; it would be a massive backward step for us. No matter how justified our reason, we will only give ourselves a terrorist image as our action will be viewed as criminal. We are trying to seek help from the British Government- we must preserve our innocence if we wish our voice to be heard. We should fight for our cause through peaceful means. We do not need to worry for Lieutenant-General Kuldeep since he has the burden of thousands of souls on his head- his life is already punishable. Take example of Bhai Sahib Gurbaksh Singh. He is an Honour.
  12. Love- Oneness Unity guramukh eaek dhrisatt kar dhaekhahu ghatt ghatt joth samoee jeeo ||2|| As Gurmukh, look upon all with the single eye of equality; in each and every heart, the Divine Light is contained. ||2|| Our society is separated by groups and more groups due to differentiation in belief but we live amongst the world where there are multiple differences. How can we live amongst all, if we cannot accept our own? Once we escape from our own and learn to understand to live with others, the concept of oneness within our panth will be so apparent. For this reason, the concept of loving and living with everyone will be further explained. Segregation is a flaw, we cannot find Vaheguru if our mind separates all by differences. We should achieve to love and respect everyone based on the goodness of who they are. We must always remember Vaheguru abides in every heart - so how can people be treated any different to us. As soon as differentiation exists, disrespect exists. We are automatically not only dividing ourselves from the world but from Vaheguru. hiaao n kaihee t(h)aahi maanak sabh amolavae ||129|| Do not break anyone's heart; these are all priceless jewels. ||129|| jae tho pireeaa dhee sik hiaao n t(h)aahae keheedhaa ||130|| If you desire your Beloved, then do not break anyone's heart. ||130|| It is thought many times that the people who do not abide in Guru Ji’s will are inferior to us and thus regard them as “manmukhs” in such a disrespectful manner, or in other terms we call corruption as “western culture”. But if they are manmukhs, what does that make us? Gurmukhs? No, gurmukh is a spiritual level and we remain manmukh until we reach that. Even as a Gursikh, it is from spiritual adherence to Guru Sahib that we become such that. If we see weakness in this world, it is not to be blamed on them but ourselves. We must redefine our moral thinking of what is wrong in society i.e. what would you regard far worse: someone’s harmless pleasurable desires or criminally vicious actions? Since within heart of our being Vaheguru’s light abides, humans are capable of understanding morality and having good judgement of right and wrong. No one is bad, and we should live to respect and love all regardless of our minor differences. With or without religion, everyone must be respected and should be put before ourselves. As our duty, we are a sacrifice to everyone. If one does not understand sikhi, it is not to say they are ignorant over us but that we should understand our ways are alien to theirs just as theirs may be to us. Putting aside our differences but aligning our sense of justice with the world, shall keep us united. And due to this good judgement, only if we prove that we are righteous and we behave and act for the good of everyone not just our kind, they will come to understand us. Our bravery, self-discipline, respect, tolerance, good speech is what marks us as good people in society. It is the qualities of our being that others will characterize us by. Outlook Corruptness lives amongst our mind when we do not understand and appreciate human life of another. Every life matters even if their life is not committed to Vaheguru. There is too much selfishness amongst our own where we only care for the betterment of our own kind and not for humanity. Friendship, loyalty and love are what evolved humans with better thinking and is what sikhs must always flourish in. Our judgement upon others should not be that they need to be Sikhs or follow our ways to be better people, but that everyone can do as they please as long as they do not harm another. The betterment of others is that everyone will live in their free mind without oppression but in happiness. Nothing and no one can prevent ones happiness. The key to progressing us to Vaheguru is to understand friendship and love and closeness amongst others. The more we lack understanding of being a loving person, the more our panth will be divided. If we separate ourselves from groups and understand the concept of love, the more we understand Vaheguru and become united. Vaheguru is above jathay, Vaheguru stays with everyone. Purpose Our meaning of who we are, what we do or how we look is never to say we are different to you or that I am better than you. It was never to say that we are separated and cannot live amongst “opposite” minds of us but to say we are here to serve you. Just as a police wears a uniform, it is to serve their purpose of being a hero- being the one who others know who to go to, who others know who are safe to approach and who others are aware they can be protected by. Remember that we live to unite with everyone and never to classify our ways better than theirs. There are so many different species, even across other Galaxies, universes- all are preserved and loved by Vaheguru. These are the thoughts and actions to take. har jeea sabhae prathipaaladhaa ghatt ghatt rameeaasoe || The Lord cherishes all beings. He permeates each and every heart. Our way of living and principles should be evolved around our spirituality and our spirituality is established by our meditation (on Vaheguru). It is the discipline and strength of our mind and the practice of virtues that make us wholesome and perfect. Mind leads to actions, so that is our root cause. The stronger our meditation and the more we practice virtues the better we become, and therefore more kindness and peace radiates. fareedhaa burae dhaa bhalaa kar gusaa man n hadtaae || Fareed, answer evil with goodness; do not fill your mind with anger. Our ways are becoming lost as more hate and more hate is spewing from us. We are forgetting that every action we take must never hinder or make our spirituality fall behind. One must not forget that if our name becomes threatening and aggressive, the true meaning of us will be lost and we can never be a saviour to another. One must also understand that it is human nature to always commit wrong actions. No matter what the slightest action is. Even as something as arguing, differentiating our mind amongst others, judging others actions etc is a sin within our mind. That doesn’t mean we cannot speak against injustice but it is just useless to blabber over something without any meaning but out of pleasure and ego of our mind. kabeer rorraa hooaa th kiaa bhaeiaa pa(n)thhee ko dhukh dhaee || Kabeer, what good would it be, to be a pebble? It would only hurt the traveller on the path. If a wrong action occurs we should always try to prevent it for our progression in spirituality and for the love and fear of Vaheguru. An example of a lifestyle which is living a way of life and strengthening the mind is Buddhism. A true Buddhist radiates peace and detachment and without bad judgement of others. Our way of living should be an understanding of reaching oneness with Vaheguru through meditation just as a Buddhist living is defined by their mediation. That is our way of living. Any other action or code of conduct we act upon encompasses that, but our goal of mediating on naam is our sole purpose. We should be known for that and our duty to serve everyone. Within ones mind, the act of terror and meaningless aggression should be far from one. In wrong actions, we must always remember that it is not only our own kind who we betray and regress but our Father who we disgrace. We represent our Father, Guru Gobind Singh, in every action we take. We must always be cautious and always present good conduct to everyone. One slightest mistake to the world goes against our teachings of our Father which was to spread unity and love. The thought of superiority is an illusion within our mind. Our destinies were carved out by Vaheguru, we never did anything. Vaheguru har saa preetham kar man meeth || Make the Beloved Lord your friend. We must understand the way to love Vaheguru should be the way we do to a friend, a brother, a sister, a mother, a father and a husband. To understand how to love is what will allow us to love Vaheguru. Although it is difficult to understand the concept and idea of love, it is something we must achieve and change our attitude in the world. We mustn’t forget that there can never be a perfect partner as there can be as Vaheguru- the definition of perfection. Vaheguru gave us everything, all our gifts. The love we receive is from Vaheguru alone. Vaheguru knows how to truly treat his bride as Vaheguru trully knows us- truly knows a bride. And there can never be such respect and love one can receive from Vaheguru from any other. Vaheguru is the most amazing kind husband, so full of compassion. Truthfully, everyone needs to be loved and cared but it is the thought of this that deceives someone into finding love on the outside. Going to others for the perfect true partner is not the easiest solution to our happiness, the easiest solution to love. The easiest solution is to find the one who has been listening to our cries, laughter and living through our journey right from the very beginning and will to the very end. And one must always remember that no one can ever love us the way Vaheguru can. It was decided from the very beginning that only Vaheguru can truly love us, humans can only try but it will never be to the extent that Vaheguru can. Vaheguru is not only the origin of us but the origin of everything within the universes and more, there can never be anyone more alive and real than him. A saachkhand being is not to be treated as something like a painting but as a close friend, someone who is captivated by love. The solution and our hope of love is Vaheguru. We can waste our lives again hoping to live with another partner, to believe in the illusion within our mind that they will give us never ending true happiness but there can be no one. They all depart without us. A true lover sticks with us forever and after death but humans are incapable of achieving the unachievable because they do not love us entirely as Vaheguru. Everything outside is within us and we must discover the true secrets of everything. Achieve our wondrous caring partner- Vaheguru and remain with him at all times.

  20. The way to get closer to God is by following Guru sahib's instructions; rehat. His rehat was only given to hasten the spirituality of the Sikh. When the Sikh makes their life a constant struggle for Guru sahib by not wasting time in useless activities but only on worldly duty (work) and spiritual duty (gurbani/naam abhiyaas) Guru sahib will guide the Sikh on every step they take. There is no time to do naam abhiyaas, it should be done whenever sikh has time away from worldly duties. Guru sahib has given us this life to spend it in devotion to God; to complete our bhagti. If we waste our time we will be moving towards falsehood and away from God. You will know when you will be going closer to God because you will feel and experience the presence of Guru sahib, many wondrous spiritual events will be unfolded, you will meet Bharmgyanis - every day will be a new step to God. vahegurujikakhalsavahegurujikifateh

  23. The warrior, If you went against a Maha Purakh from another jatha I would still refer you as an Atheist, Heretic, blasphemer or whatever you choose to be. Whether someone is akj, taksali etc there is no difference between them. If you have done immense naam abhiyaas you should know that Bhai Sahib Rama singh, Bhai sahib Randhir Singh, Baba Harnam singh, and many others are in saachkhand. Regardless of what jatha they belong to they are all seen alike to Vaheguru. The incident you have mentioned has got nothing to do with the topic. vjkkvjkf
  24. The warrior, I don't understand why your logic doesn't believe Bhai Sahib Rama Singh who reached much higher than you, was more than this physical body and ultimately reached Saachkhand. Yet you choose to slander him by saying he may be hallucinating. Since you may not be in favor of akhand kirtani jatha, Baba Harnaam singh could also leave his body and go to many places. He had so much shakti that when he left his body he could meet other people and they would see him as his normal human body. Many people have witnessed this and couldn't understand how at the same time he was in one place and another. Does this make all this seem false, a hallucination, a joke? Do you believe that Vaheguru is able to do the impossible that no human can do? Surely you do believe that. Then you should know that Guru Sahib has given his sikhs a mystical formula; naam that when reciting it we can achieve all the qualities of God. Therefore, we will be able to do things that our logic won't understand or comprehend with. Naam gives a lot of Shakti. If you don’t believe this then the teachings of Guru Sahib must be also a joke. Also, you asked why they need to leave their body temporally and go to saachkhand, the answer is in the first post. Maybe I need to highlight it for you: “To see Sach Khand it is necessary to do continuous simran” Let me explain: Those from Khalsa raj will need to see saach khand because it will inspire, encourage (or whatever word you prefer) to do more naam abhiyaas. The reason is because it is also said in bhai sahib rama singh’s book that those from Khalsa raj will live about 150 years and at the end of their life they will go to saachkhand. Vaheguroo. They need all the blessings that they can get to go saachkhand, don’t they? Now, please stop going against maha purakhs and look within your own self before going against these saints. They know much better than we all do. We all belong under the dust of such saints and should never dear to speak against their word. vahegurujikakhalsavahegurujikifateh
