  1. Dear 'Khalsa' Ji and others.. Jot Singh does also make other things such as khanda pins which you can wear on your dastar, they're impressive considering that he's an american (i.e. gora) singh..and also the amount of work that he puts into making them! If you think those were expensive, check this link out...these are too much like jewellery though!!! ALSO- these are VERY VERY EXPENSIVE!! CLICK on them to see how much they cost! http://www.ninetreasures.com/Pages/AdiShaktiPins.htm
  2. Dear Admin, I made a typo mistake in the 'description' space, I typed 'paarh', when it should have read 'paath'. PLEASE ammend this mistake as I'm not sure how to do it. Thanks

  4. Bhai Sahib 'Gurbar Akaal'... I can't make chola's OR anything of that nature myself! Lol, I can't do much, esp not anything like sewing! I wanted the chola to wear in 3 weeks time and hence wanted to find out about it ASAP, so that I can explain it to the darji (the granthi who makes kurta pajamas, cholas etc) how I want it to be. BUT, it doesnt matter, I will explain it as well as I can when I speak to the granthi/tailor. Thanks for your help B)
  5. Dear Surrey Singh, I know this is ages from when I last asked you about the 'regular' chola, BUT its just that I should be getting one made now, I'm going to speak to the Granthi/tailor about it tomorrow. I just wanted to know like how many kulia ('pleats') there are on each side of the chola and do ths slits go from the wait to the bottom. :T: PLEASE get back to me ASAP, as I should be going to speak to him tomorrow about it, thanks, its difficult to figure it out from the pic as it is dark and taken from some distance.
  6. I found out about the departure of these three Gursikhs just before my exams started, and even though I didnt personally know them, it DID affect me for some time...As this was at the beginning of my exams, I didnt come online much, therefore I had to wait until finishing before I could find out more about them. I'm sure Guruji is looking after them, and they've gone to abode divine. I just wanted to know, does anyone know how the families are doing? Does Bibi Reena Kaur have brothers/sisters? How about Bhai Charanjit Singh? I guess people wont know about his family as he's from India? I've seen a pic of Bhai Parminder Singh and his wife and daughter...
  7. Dear Sangat, Waheguroo Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguroo Ji Ki Fateh! Now that I have FINALLY finished my exams, I thought I should spend more time working on sikhi related things, and specifically, learning from you all and giving back something in return. I typed all of this out as I REALLY, REALLY like it a lot and its soo true (NOT sure who wrote it, but its great!). I thought that it might help others, or your understanding…PLEASE take your time to read it and share your views… *************************************************** The 4 stages of life and the 10 stages of Maayaa Stage 1 (Age 0 to 1 year) 0) Before Milk 1) Milk In the womb, upside down, you prayed. You were saved from the fire because you prayed to God. God’s pen writes your destiny. Your human body was completed in the 10th month. You come to the world naked. Your mind is pure and you drink milk. Your mother and father love you (maayaa – attachment). You came because you have performed good deeds. It is your chance to do something good for the next world. Slowly you begin to start liking this world. Stage 2 (Age 1 to 12) 2) Mother & Father 3) Sisters, Brothers & Relatives 4) Playing Games (Age 13 to 32) 5) Eating & Drinking 6) Lust You love this world and you forget Naam. Your mother and father think you are theirs. You perform bad deeds because everything but Naam seems sweet. You cant tell the difference between good and bad. You become attached to your youth and beauty. Day and night you are lustful. Stage 3 (Age 33 to 62) 7) House, Money, Family & Possessions 8) Anger You want to be rich and you want to be beautiful. You never think about Vaheguroo but you always think of money and beauty. You are getting greedy and you gather poison. You have forgotten the Saadh Sangat and you keep bad company and you are attached to your wife/husband and children. You do no religious deeds and you waste your life. Stage 4 (Over 62) 9) White hair, Difficult to breathe 10) Body becomes Dust. The Next World Your body becomes old and weak. Your eyes go blind, your ears cant hear and your tongue cannot taste. You have wasted your life and have done nothing good. The call of death nears and the Maayaa you fell in love with will not go with you. Your breath comes to an end. Death takes you away and nobody knows where you have gone. You did no good in this world so you will have to be reborn and die again and again. SUMMARY The relatives cry The swan (soul) leaves the body The soul came, then it left, and the name is erased from this world The family performs rituals The manmukh was blindly in love with this world Without the Guroo, the whole world has drowned
  8. I LOVE THIS SHABAD.....AMONGST MANY OTHERS, THIS ONE TOUCHES MY HEART! this gur ko ho vaariaa jin har kee har kathhaa sunaaee || I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who recites the sermon of the Lord's Teachings. this gur ko sadh balihaaranai jin har saevaa banath banaaee || I am forever a sacrifice to that Guru, who has led me to serve the Lord. so sathigur piaaraa maerai naal hai jithhai kithhai maino leae shhaddaaee || That Beloved True Guru is always with me; wherever I may be, He will save me. this gur ko saabaas hai jin har sojhee paaee || Most blessed is that Guru, who imparts understanding of the Lord. naanak gur vittahu vaariaa jin har naam dheeaa maerae man kee aas puraaee ||5|| O Nanak, I am a sacrifice to the Guru, who has given me the Lord's Name, and fulfilled the desires of my mind. ||5||
  9. I dont understand why you people are debating this! The colour is WHITE, and WHITE ONLY! I have asked someone who partakes in Panj Pyaareh seva and basically I was told that WHITE is the colour that you are supposed to wear, this whole notion of other colours is just a cultural perspective etc....WHY can't you just accept WHITE as the colour? IS IT REALLY A BIG DEAL TO THOSE ARGUING FOR OTHER COLOURS?? WHY DON'T YOU GO AND ASK THE PANJ PYAAREH IF YOU HAVE SUCH DOUBTS? THERES NO POINT IN GOING OVER AND OVER IT AGAIN!!!
  10. The whole idea of Gursikhs levitating is not something NEW, as Mkhalsa and others have already mentioned. I know of a Gursikh from India, when he was down here in the UK doing kirtan at somebodys house, his body started to rise upwards (i.e. off the ground), and the Singh’s behind him had to rub his back to keep him down. To be honest with you, I DO believe in all of this as such things DO happen with Gursikhs who have high avastha etc. with this Singh, you could tell that Gurbani was held tight within his hirda (i.e. heart)…as when he spoke out Gurbani quotes (ALL remembered kant- i.e. by memory) he would have tears flowing out of his eyes...truly AMAZING! Just like others here have mentioned, it is something which ‘just happens’ and the Gursikhs blessed as such, cant control it. And yeah…you don’t get to hear about all of this as it is something which is best kept Gupt! I’ve never seen such things happen, but know they do! Also there are other things…one e.g. is a Singh while asleep will start to speak out Gurbani etc but not be aware of it, i.e. they are asleep/unconscious, but others in the room have heard it etc. PLEASE…DON’T underestimate the POWER of Gurbani!
  11. Surrey Singh, Thank you soo much for posting the pic ...it makes it easier knowing 'what' the chola should look like once its made etc...I havent been to India for a loooonnnng time and so things will be alot different this time. I could have got a chola made here in UK, BUT its just too expensive, esp in comparison to India
  12. Surrey Singh! Are you out there? :T: ....any info about chola's?
  13. Navjot Singh... Whats the difference between a normal Gursikh wedding and a Nihang Singh wedding? Are there any differences??
  14. Surrey Singh... Do the 'pull over' or 'regular' type chola's have slits down the sides??? Is there no way that you could maybe post a pic of that type of chola :T: , I'd prefer that over the Nihang/Taksaal ones you've spoken about in the past, BUT I just want to see what it looks like as I might be going to India this year and so NEED to know what I'm talking about when I go!
  15. Hanji... I agree with Ryu Hayabusa....that is a very good and valid point, something I was going to post, but I realise that people start to get all political that way, therefore I tried to keep to logic which people will understand... I really do hope 'gursikhs' or people aiming to becoming gursikhs realise the truth, which is basically this NO DATING, NO BOY/GIRL FRIEND ETC ETC.... Why does everything have to be complicated? If you believe in guru ji's bana (will), you'll work on your jeevan and let 'nature take its course'...by that I mean that you'll focus upon sorting yourself out and when a rista comes along (when you're at the right age etc), then see what happens... I'm NOT perfect , BUT I would really like to make others aware of the consequences/outcome of engaging in such things...PLEASE, think about it...
  16. I personally think that having a boy/girl friend is totally anti-gurmat and I dont understand why people keep trying to justify this? As with 'love' marriages...this is ALL anti-gurmat... @ Yeah, have a friend who is a girl/boy ok...but that kind of relationship would be more of a 'brother' or 'sister' relationship...people ALWAYS try to argue that this kind of behaviour is acceptable when it is NOT Even the panj piaareh will tell you when you take amrit that you are supposed to see other females/males as: your sister, mother, bibi...brother, father, etc etc...its really as simple as that...WHY make it any more complicated?? By introducing all these things into sikhi...imagine what will happen in the future? Thus how will one distinguish a gursikh/mona...when they're basically doing similar things such as dating for example??? Sorry if I have offended anyone, its just that I really, really dont understand this whole concept of having 'boyfriends' or 'girlfriends'.
  17. Don't worry 'daughter of dasam pitha' and 'Balait_da_Sher'... I'm sure you'll get a chance to go to one soon, sometime as I do think Gursikhs are on the increase...I mean it seems as though more of the nau-jawaan (i.e. youth) are coming into Sikhi which is just great If any of you guys live in the UK, I'd invite you ...only thing is that I have a few years yet
  18. Sangat Ji... The Gursikh weding that I atteneded today was AMAZING ....it was definately one to go to...all I can say is It was just as though a rehansbhai was happening
  19. Thanks for that Bhenji... Its just that some people said that they would have kirtan etc as there 'reception'... Yeah, I think I might know you bhenji...
  20. This is directed towards MKhalsa and others who talk of a 'reception' at a Gursikh wedding (or ANY wedding in general)...WHAT exactly is a reception? Is it a day before the wedding day itself? I know that some Gursikhs have Akhand Path's before they get married... Sorry its just that I havent heard of this before, its because :
  21. Gupat Singhni... Are you from the UK?? Yeah...it is Kulwant Singh's wedding, (HOW DID YOU KNOW?????? :T: ) do you know him and will you be attending???
  22. I want to come to your wedding also penji! The only thing is that I live in the UK! I'm going to a gursikh wedding this weekend by the way and I cant wait! I havent been to one since december 2002!!
  23. Well Done veerji Rochang Malang! .....keep it up and embrace the path of Sikhi...its Never too late and sooner is better than later! For we don't know what tomorrow holds for us! I was a mona until like 2 and a half years ago also...its funny, I dont like looking at my previous pics but when people find out I had cut hair and was clean shaven, they always ask me to show them pics, although I NEVER do show them!
  24. P.S. The only thing I left out before was that MKhalsa IS a chardikala Singh...finding a Singhni for him wont be hard ...Me on the other hand, I'll be a buddha before I get hitched!
