  1. this person just came looking for answers...no need to reply rudely.. he even said he just wants to learn more..how ever his findings were profound.. well my friend...i have one of my family members in your situation..well they already got married and now have 3 kids.. the problem really didnt arise when the marriage happened but when the kids came...instead of being Sikh...the kids were simply like no sikhi is "hard"...we don't want to keep our hair, we want to eat meat and cut our hair and rather goto mandirs....and maybe once in a while goto gurdwaras when invited to akhand pahts/weddings. and it was difficult for the parents...well espeically the sikh one...now when he wants to learn more about sikhi...he won't be able to share it with his kids...since they have grown and now live independalty but...sikhi does not tolerate hate you cannot just make assumptions cuz people said so...you research sikhi and you find your answers..don't find them from people... get married..maybe just sitting infront of guru sahib will change your life.
  2. i have a dog, i wash my hands after touching him...only because...he has been lying around on the floor, rolling on the grass..or something on those lines...you should constantly sanitize your hands...so many Germs!.... well...my friend you do whatever floaats your boat....keep in touch with your friend she seems "fragile" emotionally....give her support... and homosexuality...Guruji's Sipahi...has already enlightened us with such a beautiful answer
  3. waheguru jeo let us just do ardas for our brothers and sisters that they be able to live freely with our muslim friends without persecution....though we already have it in ardas...just elaborate it on it even further...so hopefully God can here our pleas.
  4. if one was to become a real sikh of the guru...you will please him by doing your nitnem...until we clean ourselves...and our minds from the filth by doing seva as one of our bro/sis has kindly stated guru sahibs words above us...by doing seva ...the best ones are like cleaning the shoes at the gurdwara doing the "dirty" work, sorry just a lack of a better word...yea like washing the dishes...and all that good stuff lol...but anyhow..forget the past...whatever happened has happened..what matters now is that your here right now in the present..only question that we gotta answer is...what are you going to do right now at this moment, are you gon waste another oppurtunity to do good or act upon it? suffering doesn't necessarily mean a bad thing, it just means we still need to learn more...only thing we can ask God for is..."teach us to be whatever you desire us to be and not to loose faith in him/her at any time" and see where it lands us in respect with our life after death. bul chuk marf.. wjkk wjkf
  5. the soldiers were fighting for the world during that time...if it wasn't for their bravery the holocaust and massacre of innocent people would have continued...if it wasn't for them who knows, maybe Hitler and early Germany could have tooken over enitre Europe and Asia as a dictator who slaves his people. Sikhi promotes Freedom...and what those soldiers did was fight for freedom.... and the other comment, it is not that his hands are dirty, it is of old age and the use of the hands...which make them look like that...we can't make any assumptions cuz we personally do not know right. also, guru gobind singh ji too had his minitaure version of Guru Granth sahib ji as well...as a matter of respect maybe their was beadbi maybe there wasn't...aslong as those brave soldiers kept their faith at times where they were discriminated against by their own country shows us how much courage they must of have....most of us in those situations would have easily cut our hair so we would not be ridiculed....and not even remember guru sahib but these brave soldiers, accepted their faith, accepted their guru and took gurus hukam where ever they went, while risking their lives.
  6. do a lot of bagti..you'll recieve the blessings and actaully see for yourself how long it has taken you to come here..but don't do bagti just to get rewarded..do it with love for god

    Ethics & Career

who is your people, guru sahib told us that the whole world should be seen as our people, "one humanity" ...and when you say goray and muslims..why include everyone? sikhs are murders... when i say that everyone gets offended right?....not all muslims are bad, not all goray are bad..and not all sikhs are bad...next time..don't drag the ENTIRE group together and bash them with those kinds of comments...guru sahib tells us to look at everyone eqaully...yet we bash everyone with bigotry comments? if you want to join the army, go for it...if you don't want to be involved with combat that you do not agree upon then , enlist as an engineer, mechanic...but i am not sure on how their contracts work....however why not try the united nations...goto one of their branches...and see how they work?
  8. bhen ji what is this book called??? and if possible where could one purchase this book? (in canada)

    Freemasonry

yea i am not really down with it...cuz i am not too positive about what it says either...there are some things that will shock and appaul us......but there is also some things in there that may seem true...but in the end..it is up to us...to question it and see what we believe right.

guru gobind singh ji...has said....the days of Kaljug...are near when ...sons will sleep with their mothers, when guys are with other guys...and all that nasty stuff...it is written in the dasma granth.
  11. facebook, one of the best things made...it gives us a chance to keep in touch with ol pals from high school, little school and what not....how is it bad?? it is bad...cyber bullying and what not...but the purpose of facebook is to connect friends...its an awsome innovation of other popular chat tools.

    Freemasonry

its a secret society... these people control the world, every major leader in the world is probably connected to them. these people can be anyone...bad people, good peoople...why do you want to join? join the khalsa
  14. well stuff like this has been happening since the religion was established, if one see's another path, and relates to it, then be it. But is their a point to this? you should be happy that this person is remembering our beloved God. and not everyone is destined to be a true sikh, just because you were born into a family where they follow guru's path doesn't mean it is destined for them. you are not born with religion, you are taught it. i am not born a sikh, i am taught to be a sikh, you are not born a muslim, but yet taught to be a muslim.

    Waxing

bhen ji, you shudnt be ashamed...you're beautiful...the hair is one of the main reasons why we are all so distinct from the rest of the world... guru sahib puts us in all types of situations, just to see if we are ready to accept him and have full faith in him...he has made you think like this for a reason...to see if you are ready to accept guru sahib or not...and by the looks of it..you seem like you are ready to accept him...since you feel guilt...and want to do the right thing...but the final decision is yours right... bhen ji i wish you all the best..and stay in chardi kalaa.
  16. guru sahib loves us no matter what. if we hate him, he still loves us if we bad mouth him, he still showers his love upon us if we love him, he loves us we don't need to prove nothing to him for him to love us....it is us that need to show that we are worthy of even being his Sikhs.
  17. make a suggestion to the committee to put metal bars on the windows?... if that fails...try to collect money from, family/friends....to purchase this..and hire someone to install it?

    Sooo Lazy

bhen ji... guru sahib is always waiting for you to do the nitnem that he has told us to do...but when we don't he is dissapointed...we hurt him... seek forgiveness...forgive yourself as well..your putting to much on your self..your not lazy...you say your lazy and as a result you have convinced your subconcience that your lazy... start doing some excersices, eat fruits...especially grapes..well..if u like them, but w.e you enjoyy eat them...but any who...go for power walks, jog, work out...boxing..anything...the more active you are...the more excited you will be to do other activies (nitnem, amrtivela, seva, homework etc.) ..also..if you live by your self..meaning you have your own room...keep it as clean as possible..the more positive stuff that is around you...the more excited you will be to do things... why sit around the computer...when you can enjoy yourself ...close your eyes do some simran...feel the anand.....if you like just looking at the shabads...call over some of your friends...do paht together...do vichar together in order to understand what the shabad means to you personally. and also wear your kakkars...they are important. bul chuk marf
  21. the answer is NO? are you kidding me, friend? God answes every prayer that is done from the heart, god loves all...he/she w.e you prefer...will always answer, it may take some time some times god is letting all these "bad" things like you say happen, to help you learn something, make you understand something that may come useful to you one day. My friend, don't look at it as a negative way...there is always a positive that is hiding some where in that situation of yours, but it is up to you to find it right. These family problems are maybe making you stronger as a person but you don't realize it yet...my friend..ardass you should do...and also..do the shoe seva. Guru sahib is waiting to see how strong your faith is, whether or not you'll crack and give up at the weakest of times, or if you will become stronger and not loose faith at times like these...keep faith friend guru sahib loves you so much, it is unbelievable, it is us who give up on him, and he never gives up on us...o waheguru if only we could love him as much as he does us...friend please do not give up... "Time heals all" though it may sound as a cliche, but everything takes time, depending on God's hukam right. just try to feed off this, learn, everything is a learning experience, also have a family talk? those always help...all sit down..talk about your feelings, what you feel, what is happening, how can you all work to make things better....also pray as a family too....praying with family, keeps the family as a unit. Maybe you may be shy, but take the iniative, you already show that you care so much...make the inatitive...talk with each other...and then thank god for whatever the results are my friend...best of luck
  22. waheguru guru nanak dev ji....wonderfully uttered the name Waheguru the word waheguru it self is a combination of the ages....all 4 realms(ages, yugs etc.) are combined...each syllable is a representation of each yug...as my friends above have stated as a result, its name is unique...since simran...and the same anand cannot be acheived by saying, "wonderful lord, ram, gobind, allah" repeatedly cannot work.... by uttering waheguru repeatedly...it is a unique experience inwhich it is beyond words to describe when one is tuned to the wonderful pleasures of the lord thus being the most powerful and unique name of God since it combines all the yugs into One...thank guru nanak..."sab thay vada sat gur nanak jin kal rakhi meri"
  23. waheguru, they are the lucky ones...god bless them...they are able to stay there to hear/see the beautiful guru and hear his beaituful shabads the fish are there..as a symbolic figure..to remind us...that as fish are nothing without the water, we are nothing without God... And they are there to basically "clean"...eating the dead cells...as a way to purify the water
