It shall not go along with you when you must depart; all the wealth you see is false.

The blind and ignorant do not understand, that the sword of death is hanging over their heads.

This reminds me of some Gursikhs who, at the weekend, gave English translation and katha in English of a shabad.

One story he told was of Guru Nanak Dev Maharaj, who was with Bhai Mardana and another companion (I forget his name). Guru Ji asked them both "How close is death?"

The first companion said "I know I saw the sun rise today but I do not know whether I will see it rise tomorrow."

Guru Ji replied "That far? That you're guaranteed to see the sun set too?"

Then he asked Bhai Mardana.

Mardana said "I know I will lift my foot (to walk?) but do not know whether it will touch the ground again."

Guru Ji also tolf him he was wrong.

"When you breathe in, you will exhale it back out. This much you are guaranteed. Each and every breath may be our last. This is how close Death is."
