Gurupyare, this is my personal opinion. You have raised the question that means you are not comfortable with the issue. Well thats Gut instinct. My benti is that if Sikhs cannot provide the correct environment for Guruji then they should do Sehaj Path at a Gurdwara. Sehaj paths are normally read over a week or so. That means that if the place is not correct then it will be a massive paap to keep Guruji their for so long.

Recently there was a issue in the midlands where the Sangat stopped Maharaj's saroop from being taken to an off licence (shop that sells alcohol and cigerettes). Why because this is not the place for Maharaj's prakash.

If keep sadkar of Maharaj in mind then you will receive their blessings. Really its you and your family that needs Guruji blessings not the shop. Please do the sehaj path at the Gurdwara.

If the shop (or even someones house) serves/sells products that are not Gurmat such as alcohol, tobacco, porn, meat (anti-gurmat to some, let's not start a meat debate) etc then there is an obvious problem. Most Gurdwara committees or freelance Granthis will probably turn a blind eye to this and carry out whatever Sikh "ceremony" has been paid for by the Sikh "customer".

There are "Sikh" households who probably bring Maharaj's Saroop to their houses even though they still wish to carry on consuming alcohol, meat and tobacco. They are reducing the presence of Guru Maharaj to a mere ritualistic act. Some individuals/families want to have Guru Ji placed on their premises when they are not willing to accept the hukam of who they profess to be their Guru. The truth is they do not see Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their Guru, they see a Sehaj Path as a ritualistic act they do not see that their Guru is speaking to them.

As a Sikh I would be offended and upset if the Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj was brought to a shop serving alcohol, tobacco etc. I would do what I can to not let the beadbi happen, i.e speak to the family, the Gurdwara committee and local Sikhs first.

this is similar to what happend in walsall, when caldmore gwara wanted to take maharaj to an off licence. they had argued that the shop was seperate to the house because the house had a back door, which maharaj would go through. the house will linked to the shop by a door. this is how most shops are like. but it was decided that it is wrong for maharaj to go to a place where achohol is present. i think this is the stance that you should take with this sehaj path. if u require more help contact the r4g number. im sure they'l be willing to help.

If the place where GuruJi is installed is clean and the shop doesnt sell tobacco or alcohol then there is zero problem {a.e If your dad is a diabetic then dont take him to a candy store.}

What if someone does Sehaj Paath from Senchiyan... and over couple of months...

is it right to keep senchiyan in home to do Sehaj paath...
