It's a worldwide epidemic that allows racialized, marginalized, working class, and especially disabled women to rarely if ever see justice served for acts of sexual violence against them. The incidence of abuse is 20% or higher in the developmentally challenged and deaf communities of Canada, yet this group has the lowest rate of cases that end with a conviction for the rapist.
