Gurfateh Jio,

Does anyone know of any decent cornea surgeons anywhere in Punjab or in Delhi.

Most of the so-called Surgeons run their own dodgy 1-man business, so we are looking for something decent for an eye operation for my baba.

Any personal recommendations would be grateful.

Thanks

All of them are 1 man businesses in Punjab, you will get people telling you xyz is very good cus their aunt had an op there. If you are based in the UK and your baba is over here then get it done here. The after op care in most the punjab setups is very poor.

If you insist on getting it done in India then Daljit Eye Hospital in Amritsar is one of the better setups. http://www.daljiteye.com . The Jalandhar based hospitals are very much orientated towards making as much money as they can. Dr Daljit Singh is world reknown.

The upstarts in Jalandhar have no problem with doing 2 lasiks at the same time, most places do 1 eye at a time just in case of problems eg healing, infection etc etc.

baba is almost 90...blind in one eye (thanks to one dodgy surgeon) and the other needs a corneal graft.

He's been over here but didn't want treatment here because it would be difficult for him and us to look after him for 3-6 months post-treatment as everyone in family works. Plus, the weather etc would make him very depressed as he is used to the heat and doing a lot of walking etc etc etc

So out only option is India unfortunately.

We were ideally thinking central Delhi but any more suggestions would be most grateful.

Thanks for pointing that out...even though I wasnt implying that Indian treatment is any worse then anywhere else so please don't assume things VeerJi.

I was trying to make the point that for me/us it's a shame he doesnt want treatment here.

Thanks for erroneous comment though, it really helps.
