this is the dark age of Kalyug. While this is a dark age, this is also the best age. Why? Because in this blessed Yug of Kalyug, Preetam Pyaare, Siri Guru Nanak Dev jee blessed us with Naam.

Just as the rose plant has thorns, Satnaam roopi Rose exists amongst Kalyug roopi thorns.

Just as the precious tree of Chandan is full of black poisonous cobras, precious Naam was brought in the dark age of Kalyug (Naag roopi Kalyug). Naam is japped while one is living in this dark age (Black Naag).

There is more anand in getting to the tree of Chandan, through cobras. Naam Japan daa anand hai, i

n this Kalyug. It is way more adventurous. There are forces of evil all over but they don't come close to the Sikh of Guru Arjun Dev jee Maharaaj. A Sikh of Guru Arjun Dev jee has firm belief in "Gur kaa shabad Rakhvaarai|| Chaunkee Chaugird Hamaarai|| i.e. The shabad (naam-Gurmantr) of Guru is my protector and acts as a defence wall for me.

May we take advantage of the divine Rakhvara - "Gur kaa Shabad".

waheguru ji ^_^ bani is soo beautiful....here's one of my fav shabads....

pray.gif

>gur satgur kaa jo sikh akhaa-ay so bhalkay uth har naam Dhi-aavai.

One who calls himself a Sikh of the Guru, the True Guru, shall rise in the early morning hours and meditate on the Lord's Name.

>udam karay bhalkay parbhaatee isnaan karay amrit sar naavai.

Upon arising early in the morning, he is to bathe, and cleanse himself in the pool of nectar.

>updays guroo har har jap jaapai sabh kilvikh paap dokh leh jaavai.

Following the Instructions of the Guru, he is to chant the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. All sins, misdeeds and negativity shall be erased.

>fir charhai divas gurbaanee gaavai bahdi-aa uth-di-aa har naam Dhi-aavai.

Then, at the rising of the sun, he is to sing Gurbani; whether sitting down or standing up, he is to meditate on the Lord's Name.

>jo saas giraas Dhi-aa-ay mayraa har har so gursikh guroo man bhaavai.

One who meditates on my Lord, Har, Har, with every breath and every morsel of food - that GurSikh becomes pleasing to the Guru's Mind.

>jis no da-i-aal hovai mayraa su-aamee tis gursikh guroo updays sunaavai.

That person, unto whom my Lord and Master is kind and compassionate - upon that GurSikh, the Guru's Teachings are bestowed.

>

jan naanak Dhoorh mangai tis gursikh kee jo aap japai avrah naam japaavai. ||2||

>Servant Nanak begs for the dust of the feet of that GurSikh, who himself chants the Naam, and inspires others to chant it. ||2||

>Saajan days vidaysee-arhay saanayhrhay daydee.

O Friend, You have travelled so far from Your homeland; I send my message of love to You.

>saar samaalay tin sajnaa munDh nain bharaydee.

I cherish and remember that Friend; the eyes of this soul-bride are filled with tears.

>munDh nain bharaydee gun saaraydee ki-o parabh milaa pi-aaray.

The eyes of the soul-bride are filled with tears; I dwell upon Your Glorious Virtues. How can I meet my Beloved Lord God?

>maarag panth na jaana-o vikh-rhaa ki-o paa-ee-ai pir paaray.

I do not know the treacherous path, the way to You. How can I find You and cross over, O my Husband Lord?

>satgur sabdee milai vichhunnee tan man aagai raakhai.

Through the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru, the separated soul-bride meets with the Lord; I place my body and mind before You.

Beautiful hukam pray.gif waheguru pray.gif waheguru pray.gif

BIHAAGRAA, FIFTH MEHL, CHHANT, FIRST HOUSE:

ONE UNIVERSAL CREATOR GOD. BY THE

GRACE OF THE TRUE GURU:

I have seen a miracle of the Lord, O my dear beloveds - whatever He does is righteous and just. The Lord has fashioned this beautiful arena, O my dear beloveds, where all come and go. The One who fashioned the world causes them to come and go. Some meet the True Guru - the Lord invites them into the Mansion of His Presence; others wander around, deluded by doubt. You alone know Your limits; You are contained in all. Nanak speaks the Truth - listen, Saints: the Lord dispenses even-handed justice. || 1 || Come and join with me, O my beautiful dear beloveds; let's worship the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. Let's serve the Perfect True Guru, O my dear beloveds, and clear away the Path of Death. Having cleared the treacherous path, as Gurmukhs we shall obtain honor in the Court of the Lord. Those who have such pre-ordained destiny, lovingly focus their attention on the Lord, night and day. Egotism, possessiveness and emotional attachment are eradicated when one joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. Sa

ys servant Nanak, one who contemplates the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is liberated. || 2 || Let's join hands, O Saints; let's come together, O my dear beloveds, and worship the Imperishable, Almighty Lord God. I sought Him through uncounted forms of adoration, O my dear beloveds; now, I dedicate all my mind and body to the Lord. Mind, body and wealth all belong to God; so what can anyone offer Him in worship? He alone merges in the lap of God, unto whom the Merciful Lord and Master becomes kind. One who has such pre-ordained destiny written on his forehead, comes to bear love for the Guru. Says servant Nanak, join the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, and worship the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. || 3 || I wandered around, searching in the ten directions, O my dear beloveds, but I came to find the Lord in the home of my own being. The Dear Lord has fashioned the body as the temple of the Lord, O my dear beloveds; the Lord continues to dwell there. The Lord and Master Himself is pervading everywhere; He is revealed to the Gurmukh. Darkness is dispelled, and pain is removed, when the sublime essence of the Lords Ambrosial Nectar trickles down. Wherever I look, the Lord and Master is there. The Supreme Lord God is everywhere. Says servant Nanak, meeting the True Guru, I have found the Lord within the home of my own being. || 4 || 1 ||
