It's not only at Darbar Sahib, it's all around the world, 24/7 :smile2:

That's the way it's spelled in (almost) all Saroops of Guru Granth Sahib Jee.

^ Apologies for not posting a picture that's laridaar/larivaar and also manglacharan/mool mantar is out of place, which is sadly commonly seen these days.

But that still doesn't change the point about Mahal 5. It's written like that in almost every Saroop (as seen above).

^ This is a correct example, with manglacharan in correct place and laridaar/larivaar. However, sadly still most ragis and parcharaks sing manglacharan after saying "Basant Kee Vaar Mahal 5".

But sticking to the topic, it's Guru Sahib's Hukam, so that's how we pronounce it :smile2: , Basant Kee Vaar Mahal 5. Sounds just about right to me! :smile2: It is very clear from the spelling of the word that, that is how it is pronounced and that there is no way it can be pronounced Mahala. The spelling of the word and the grammar used explains it all.
