Introduction

Khalsa Secondary School is firmly committed to offering a quality service to pupils and their families and schools. We therefore need to ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils and drivers on home to school transport. The school run times may vary slightly but will generally be from 7.00am 8.30am / 4.45pm 6.15pm

Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for the care and supervision of the children whilst they are travelling to and from school in and around the Slough area

· Must ensure that pupils are securely seated and seat belts are fastened before the vehicle proceeds

· Must see that the vehicle stops at each appointed stopping place and that the children board the vehicle safely

· Must see that the children leave the vehicle safely and are handed over to the staff of the school

· Must not leave the vehicle until the last child has been taken to her.his appropriate stop. Drivers must not leave the vehicle until all pupils have departed from the transport as there are no circumstances in which a child must be left unattended on the vehicle.

· Required to conduct pre-walk around checks and ensure your vehicle is left clean and tidy at end of duty.

Skills and Qualifications

· Must hold a D or D1 category license

· Must hold current CRB or will be checked for suitability

· Compassionate / caring na ture

· Working with children in a caring environment
