Colours have little meaning in this respect. Modesty, simplicity etc are the main meanings of the sikh traditional clothes. The cloth worn around waist is a kamarkassa, like a belt.

Colours are really just personal choice. Although blue, black, white and orange are generally most popular in sikhism
