Guru Nanak Dev Ji's visit to Mecca. Despite rejecting the prevalent sub-continental philosophies surrounding him, Guru Nanak Dev undertook extensive travels in visiting the sites of pilgrimage often associated with his neighboring traditions. He visited Rome to view and dissect the Christian faith, he visited many an eminent Hindu site to dispel prevalent superstitions accepted as spirituality whilst he visited Mecca to dispel the myth of a singular supreme faith. It is his visit to Mecca which has become a matter of extensive debate between Islamic and Sikh scholars. The queries raised by the critics are simple yet confounding to the layman. 1. Syad Muhammad Latif, a famous historian writes in History of the Panjab(1989 edition) :- a. Historians agree in praising the great merits of Guru Govind Singh. In him were united the qualities of a religious leader and a warrior. He was a lawgiver in the pulpit, a champion in the field, a king on his masnad, a faqir in the society of the Khalsa. He was the right man for the needs of the time. Page270 b. 'Only the just man enjoys peace of mind' - Epicurus This seems true to me. But at the same time, we don't experience peace all the time, it's every now and then. So what does this mean? Like when we feel peace, means we are fair-minded and faultless even though we do something not right (on emotional level) unwantedly, like being rude, keeping distance from the person who you doesn't get along with well as a result of that person's wrong done to us. But all this time, you never wish ill of that person just want to cut ties. Is this right? Please input your views.

Here are 9 Sikh women who embody the highest Sikh ideal of the warrior-saint. Half are legends from early history -- women who we will never fully know but whose deeds ignite our imagination as the first female warrior-saints. Half are modern-day heroines -- each one stands for hundreds of Sikh women who are blazing their own paths as the warrior-saints of our era.
