Satsriakal everyone I am a sikh boy,20 years old and I am a proud gursikh who has lately had an urge to trim my beard. I have been doing a lot of research on this but have not come across a reasonable argument. Why is it that me making a personal life decision of trimming my beard might move me away from my sikhi in the eyes of others. The reason why I would want to trim my beard is because I would feel more comfortable and neat. I proudly wear a turban and will always carry on wearing it with pride and honour. Please can I have some advise. I understand that Sikh's do not eat halal meat. If a sikh/group of sikhs went to a non religous college and found only halal meat (and 2 vegetarian) choices available for lunch, would they a) be offended at only being offered halal meat and b) would it cause them to not book onto a coutrse again because of it, or would they simply have a veggie choice and not be bothered. if it is a case of they would be offeneded can you say is this due to the method of killing halal meat or the religous implications of its killing (eg the prayer to allah) thank you

I am feeling very sick and in pain due to leg problem. I am having surgery in few days. Please tell me which paath to do before surgery that can make me feel strong. Wjkk wjkf, I'm an amritdhari singhni and I wear a tiny unnoticeable bit of foundation to hide some acne scars. The makeup is actually really unnoticeable no one ever realises everyone thinks it's my natural skin. The other day a friend of mine asked what my secret was and I said I just wear a tiny bit of foundation and she said that that was wrong?? I don't wear any other makeup no eyeliner mascara lipstick or anything else, and i don't do my eyebrows (obviously as its a kurehit)... But I was wondering if wearing a tiny amount of foundation to hide acne scars is a big no-no? My panj pyaare didn't say anything about makeup...i agree makeup on singhnis doesn't look right b…

is there anything written about keeping hair and beard for sikhs in guru granth sahib? a person should be sikh from heart or from is looks ???????? the much easier way is to loose the dastaar means cut ur hair , will be much easier to get up and get ready ,, ,,, gurus always told us to be non superstitious and nowdays sikhs are the most superstitious poeple we see arround,,,in now days times there is no need of a sikh swaroop , one should try to be true sikh from heart and not by looks ,,,

WJKK WJKF This morning as I was getting ready to go to the Gurdwara Sahib a very odd incident occurred. I was ironing my suit and as I started to iron my duppatta, I noticed that the palms of both of my hands were very black as if it was paint of some sort. I showed my daughter and she was surprised too. I checked my clothes and there weren't any stains on them and there was no paint on my iron either. I tried to look around to see where I could have gotten it from but I could not have found any source. I washed my hands and it came right off. I Might be moving to Vancouver so I was just wandering where most of the sikhs live there. I am gonna be in high school there so will I get bullied because i am a sikh? most of the students there are white and chinese will I be the only sikh? Everyone says there are lots of sikhs in vancouver but whenever I go i dont see any. I will probally be in east vancouver, are there sikhs who live there, if there are are they youth or elderly because im worried that i'll get bullied for being the only sikh. hi, im 17 now and i took amrit when i was 11, i was very religious and felt a real passion for sikhi when i was young, so i did what any passionate sikh would do and took amrit at a very early age. as i got older it became harder and i lost the passion i had for sikhi and got really lazy and i had a bad inflance in school, i didnt feel like an amrit dhari anymore and den it went down hill from there, i did aot of things i really regret, and i proberbly did and hav broke my amrit now ive started to better myself now and started doing paat and going to gurdwara every morning before school and alot of things to make myself closer to god, ive started to get more into sikhi …

WJKK WJKF Sangat ji, My Wife found out 2 weeks ago that she is pregrant. this was great news as we have been tryng for a baby for a month or 2 now. however she started to bleed and get back pain and cramps in her stomach recently. So we went hospital for a emergency scan. the scan is not showing anything, my wife is getting pains on her left side of her back and is still bleeding hhere and their but not heavily. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
