Fate of job
by Guest Kaur- 4 replies

In about 2 months time I'm going to find out if I got an offer from an interview I just went to about 2 weeks ago. However, since then (about a week later) I took the chance to attend an Amrit Sanchar and I was given amrit. Now, I am an amritdhari. Now that I am an amritdhari, am I more likely to get the job if I do more bani and naam? Or are my chances the same? I know arzdas as an amritdhari are always heard and I was just hoping that this would mean the job would be secured. I didn't go to an amrit Sanchar for his job however. I was planning to attend amrit Sanchar well, well before I even thought I would start to look for a job let alone go to an interview for this jo…

Nitnem
by Guest IronLion- 2 replies

Hello, I am new to Sikhism and have been learning and practicing to the best of my ability for the past 4 months. I have been doing Nitnem, but I think I am somewhat unorthodox in my approach - while I think it works for me and thus I will keep doing it this way (at least for now), I wanted to get opinions from the group and maybe some advice on how I could make my Nitnem more effective. I usually wake around 4-430. In order to fit Nitnem into my morning I listen to the morning banis while I am getting ready in the morning - usually while I work out (I work out at home and it is very quiet and peaceful) and eat breakfast. I follow that with Simran before going t…

Process Of Registering Marriage In The Uk
by Guest .....- 1 reply

Could anyone please explain the process of formally registering a Sikh marriage? What is the usual practice? After reading the government's guidance I am more confused than before as it seems very complicated. Also, can you register at engagement or does the Anand Karaj have to have been performed? I would appreciate any help from those that have been through this process.

Hi I know this is has nothing to do with sikhi and it's really silly posting on here. But i have asked around and no body knows how to. How do you delete someone off your hotmail contact list? I don't mean msn, already done that, but I want to also delete them off my hotmail contatc list, but there doesn't seem to be an option which allows deleting contacts. It just allows adding the person to my 'favourites'. There must be a way. Thanks in advance.

Omnipotence Paradox
by Guest DumbIdiotBanda- 1 reply

VJKK VJKF The omnipotence paradox goes like this: Can god create a rock he cannot lift? If you answer yes, god is not omnipotent because god will not be able to lift the rock If you answer no, god is not omnipotent because god can’t create that rock. I have one possible answer and that is that it is unknowable. But this is not a satisfactory answer to this question. My question is, any solutions to this sangat ji? VJKK VJKF

I know its Pakistan but the situation is identical in Punjab, India. Looking at his documentary i couldn't help but think what a waste of money. Pathetic. The worst part is when he says when the parents die the first thing the kids do is sell the building and take the money for themselves.

Trust

SikhSangat Ji My question is simple. How do you Trust someone? If you have a little doubt about what someone is saying to you - What goes through your thoughts? AND How do you deal with this feeling? I am specifically referring to a Husband and Wife relationship, but the Principle is similar to many other relationships. What are your thoughts please? Thank you

Sikhs not removing hair anywhere
by Guest Car- 6 replies

I was wondering don't you feel a bit uncomfortable for example under the armpits and in the private region. What about if you are very hairy near the back passage? You can't remove. In Islam we are told to remove / trim hair underarm and private regions. Looking forward to your replies. Peace.

Allowing entry to someone with cigarette breath into a Gurdwara?
by Guest Guest Singh- 5 replies

Wjkk Wjkf! I recently had gone to Gurdwara Sisganj Sahib, Delhi, and while washing my hands I smelled cigarette breath on the guy next to me. Seemed like a non-Punjabi and non-Sikh. I didn't say anything to him then because I was in a hurry myself, but when I left the Gurdwara I found myself pondering as to whether I should have confronted him and stopped him from going in front of Maharaj in that state. It's also possible that he was there just for the langar and didn't matthaa tek at all. Should I have stopped him? How would you have handled this? Wjkk Wjkf!
