I understand that you have to keep ur 5 ks on u at all times which i think i can do. I was thinking that how can u keep your kachera on during shower and i some how mentally figured it out lol! With regards to to the kirpan im not sure.....can i tie some pagh material around my head and then put the kirpan in safely? i spoke to a girl and she goes her parent who have been amritdharis for a very long time put their kirpans to the side. Another amritdhari said that i have to wear a keski? but when i asked him why you have to wear a keski they didnt know why. I wud be great if sangat could provide me with a clear answer....as i am confused and i want to keep the 5Ks on me at all times now....Many Thanks...

  2. VahegurooJiKaKhalsaVahegurooJiKiFateh Firstly, many congratulations on becoming closer to Guru Sahib. To answer your question, all panj kakkars must be kept on your person at all times, including shower time. Also, my personal belief is that keski is kakaar, therefore it must be kept on the head at all times (except when doing keshi ishnaan, drying and combing in which case it is wrapped around the waist). You can read more about this here: http://tapoban.org/keski.html Even if someone doesn't believe keski is kakkar it should still be kept on at all times because we cannot be tyar bar tyar without it as satkar and order of our kes would not be kept without it. You've got it right, you tie a keski on your head and then you can wrap your gatra with kirpan in it around the keski, I tend to place my kirpan at the front of my head, put the rest of the gatra (like a loop) around my head, then tie a knot in the gatra around the back of the head.

  3. Sikhs For Justice are trying to file a “1503 PETITION” before the U.N. Human Rights Commission (UNHRC). If they are successful, then the U.N. will appoint an independent expert to investigate the Sikh Genocide issue within India. This is quite a big step in terms of the Sikh Panth trying to obtain justice for the Sikh Genocide. Canadian MP Sukh Dalliwal has publically stated that he supports this petition and that he will lead the way before the United Nations. Now compare Sukh Dalliwal to our so called “Sikh” Prime Minister of India, Manmohan Singh:- While Manmohan Singh publically tells the Sikhs to forget about the Genocide, Sukh Daliwall is trying to get justice for his Sikh brothers and sisters. In 1993 when Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister of india, he attended an International Human Rights Convention. When he was asked, has there ever been any sustained Human Rights infringements within Punjab, our so called Sikh Prime Minister replied that there had not been any! While the Prime Minister is trying to hide the truth, Sukh Daliwal is trying to bring it out in the open. Unfortunately Manmohan Singh is nothing but an unelected ‘yes man’ for the Ghandi Hindutva dynasty of India (Nehru, Indra Ghandi, Rajiv Ghandi, Sonia Ghandi - all from the same family) who are the descendants of Gangu (sold out the 2 small shaibzade). As soon as Rahul Gandhi is ready to take the role of Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh will be brushed aside. Another example of a ‘yes man’ - In 1984, the Chief of the Army at the time SK Sinha was told by the Indian government about Operation Bluestar, he refused to do it. He was therefore retired early and General Arun Vaidya was bought out of retirement to lead the attack. He was bought out of retirement as he was notorious for being a ‘yes man’ and doing unethical things. Another general of the army Gen TS Oberoi had actually described Vaidya as a ‘sick man’ i.e. someone who would kill any number of people.

  4. This is absolutely disgusting! The police arrested him for no reason and then tried to force him to confess to being a terrorist. I guess arresting a terrorist leads to a promotion or a nice payout for the officeres involved. The question I ask is, shera was extremely lucky to get away in the instance, but how many Shera's have there been over the last 26 years who did not manage to get away and who are languishing in jails under false charges? I would say in the thousands! A follow on discussion on the events that took place:-

  7. BHAI RASAL SINGH JI, ELDER BROTHER OF JATHEDAR SUKHDEV SINGH BABBAR PASSES AWAY ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਵਾਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਚਲਿਆ ॥: Left - Bhai Rasal Singh Ji during the 1970's, Right - Bhai Sahib in a Recent Photo. DASUWAL, PUNJAB (KP) - Bhai Rasal Singh Ji, the elder brother of Shaheed Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar and Bhai Mehal Singh Babbar, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 2nd, 2010, at home in his ancestral village. Bhai Rasal Singh Ji, hailing from the village of Dasuwal, district Amritsar, lived the life of a true rehatvan GurSikh and endured many hardships during the 1980s and 1990s when police atrocities in Punjab were at a height. Along with his brother Jathedar Bhai Sukhdev Singh Babbar, Bhai Rasal Singh Ji's young son, Bhai Amrik Singh was also killed by the Indian police in 1992. Decades later, several police cases have still remained pending against Bhai Sahib – illustrating his continued persecution by the Punjab Police even at this ripe age. Despite being in his seventies and suffering so many losses, Bhai Sahib remained in Chardi-Kala, and steadfast in the iron discipline that true Singhs are known for. Bhai Rasal Singh always dressed in the Khalsa banna, cooked and prepared his own food, and kept strict 'Sarbloh Bibek' until his last breath. Bhai Kesar Singh Chibber, who documented the life of the Sikhs in the 1700s, describes the Rehat-Behat of such GurSikhs in BansavaleeNama : (ਬੰਸਾਵਲੀਨਾਮਾ) Rare are Gursikhs such as Bhai Rasal Singh Ji, and those described above who are blessed with such determination and discipline. Antim Ardaas and services in memory of Bhai Rasal Singh Ji are scheduled to be held at village Dasuwal on January 11th, 2010.

  8. According to pratan maryada there was no anand karaj before amrit sanchar, i.e. amrit sanskar must take place before anand sanskar, this is the pratan Guru maryada which has only been violated recently. Therefore anand karaj before amrit sanchar cannot ever be fully in accordance with Gurmat for anyone. And then of course for anand karaj both the singh and singhni must be amritdhari only. This should help greatly in interpreting the hukamnama, based on this maryada, in my mind the hukamnama is telling you to take amrit now and then get married to a chardikala amritdhari singh. Talk before marriage is just talk, they may agree to amrit now and say they will do it after marriage, but after the marriage is done how do you know for sure they will then go through with it? You would get taken down as well. Read more here: http://gurmatbibek.com/forum/read.php?3,5046,5046 In terms of finding an amritdhari, I am sure with Guru Ji's kirpa it is no problem, one thing you can do is get panj singh to do ardas in guru mahraj's hazoori (lareevar saroop if possible) and ask for the person in your sanjog to become pargat. also http://akj.org/skins/one/matrimonial.php offers a service for gursikhs.
