  1. i think giani zail singh signed the order cuz he didn't wanna lose his kursi as president. some others guys like longowal got shot but giani zail dude went as an ambasador or somethin to another country where there were hardly and sikhs so he wouldn't be assasinated. i think that foo only wanted his kursi and then his life. he didn't do nothin to save sikhs.(as far as i know) he's a kalank on the sikh kaum in my opinion.
  2. :umm: :D  :D :D
  3. :umm: Here's my points on this manmat thread: 1. i am not even 1% gursikh probably cuz i aint amritdhari, only 1 k, etc 2. i have not read all of SGGS ji so that is why i call myself murakh cuz i don't know what it says about stuff. 3. manmat=probably everything SGGS ji says NOT to do 4. gurmat=everything SGGS ji says we MUST do which is basically WAHEGUROO da naam japna from what i know (plz someone correct me if i'm wrong) 5. although this is a sikh sangat we end up doin nindiya of some ppls here so THIS is MANMAT too probably 6. doesn't gurbani say something about don't attach urself to mother, father, bro, sis, friends...all these ppl can not help you to achieve oneness with god? aren't we attached to all these relations? so this must be manmat too. 7. A LOT of things we do in our daily life is manmat probably......its kinda like god, its everywhere 8. maybe posting on this forum is manmat? 9. maybe this thread is also manmat? 10. maybe whole concept of god is manmat? Look ppl.....TAKE A CHILL PILL :D ps- maybe having fun at sikhsangat forum is manmat too
  4. how do you know? nobody knows when it is someone's time or not.
  5. Sikh Students Association of California State University, Sacramento is celebrating its 1st annual Unity Day. See the flyer at the provided link: http://pix.sikhpride.com/unityday.jpg
  6. That's sort of why I was wondering where this idea came from. If God is everywhere how can he be standing in one particular spot or something? Why would God care if the ardaas was too long and it was making His feet hurt? Kind of like the brahmin (?) theory that the world rests upon a buffalo's horns. THen what is the buffalo standing on? Gurbani mentions this one about the world on buffalo's horns but it redicules the idea because that can not be possible.
  7. :umm: :D  :D come on ppl, keep more jokes coming! i had to find this thread from the 2nd page of news fun place :D
  8. I posted this in first post: I found out there is no evidence of this in SGGS ji.......this idea came from brahmin concepts and theology or whatever. Sikhi does not back this story at all so disregard this story. :umm:
  9. i don't think anyone is calling you a dirty hindu Rochak ji :umm: ........unless you take that personally because of your background :D
  10. aaaaaaahhhhhh thank you balait da sher ji thas beautifulllllllll, it says it well

  14. I got this in an email from a friend....No peeking!! Go all the way. Be honest! Post your answer after you take this test! Dr. Phil's Test Here you go ... try this. Below is Dr. Phil's test. (Dr. Phil scored 55 -- he did this test on Oprah-she got a 38.) Some folks pay a lot of money to find this stuff out. Read on, this is very interesting! Don't be overly sensitive! The following is pretty accurate and it only takes 2 minutes. Take this test for yourself and send it to your friends. The person who sent it to you placed their score in the subject box. Please do the same before forwarding to your friends. Don't peek but begin the test as you scroll down and answer. Answers are for who you are now....... not who you were in the past. Have pen or pencil and paper ready. This is a real test given by the Human Relations Dept. at many of the major corporations today. It helps them get better insight concerning their employees and prospective employees. It's only 10 simple questions, so...... grab a pencil and paper, keeping track of your letter answers. Make sure to change the subject of the E-mail to read YOUR total. When you are finished, forward this to everyone you know, and also send it to the person who sent this to you. Make sure to put YOUR score in the subject box. Ready?? Begin... ====================================================== 1. Now add up the total number of points. OVER 60 POINTS: Others see you as someone they should "handle with care." You're seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant.. Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you. 51 TO 60 POINTS: Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality; a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones. They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once; someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure. They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate. 41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting; someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out. 31 TO 40 POINTS: Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical. They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest. Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return. Those who really get to know you realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken. 21 TO 30 POINTS: Your friends see you a s painstaking and fussy. They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder. It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.. UNDER 21 POINTS: People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions & who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist. Some people think you're boring. Only those who know you well know that you aren't. Now forward this to others, and put your score in subject box
  15. maybe we prefer plants over animals cuz i think someone said earlier that animals have feelings/thoughts/etc like humans do, whereas plants do not have any of those. Animals and ppl have brain/muscles/heart/lungs/all other organs of body....plants don't. Maybe because of these similarites with animals if we eat animals we are sort of like carnivores, cuz aren't ppl animals too? (is carnivores the right word?) agian, i am MAHA MURAKH cuz i don't know what SGGS ji says about stuff so plz someone who has read all of SGGS ji provide answers. thanx.
  16. Ok lemme break this down if i can.... Sikhi daan=Gift of Sikhism kesh daan=gift of long hair rehat daan=gift of observing Sikh laws bibek daan=Gift of divine knowledge bharosaa daan=gift of firm faith daanan sirr daan Naam daan= BIGGEST GIFT OF ALL IS Naam amritsar jee ke eshnaan= (AND) GIFT OF BATH IN NAAM hhhmmm....I think in the red part we are asking for the GIFT OF Naam which is the biggest gift of all (i thinik) but moreover, we are asking for Naam ESHNAAN. THink of it this way: lets say you have SGGS ji at your home. That's good but that won't do you any good unless you READ IT and meditate on NAAM. So having SGGS ji at home is kind of like the red part, you asked for gift of Naam and you have it in your home. In the green part you are asking for meditation on that NAAM which happens when you read it. Does it make sense now?
  17. thanks for pic Deep Singh ji, anymore pics anyone? (i just can't get enough of it, wish i was there to see it myself with my own two eyes)
  18. Balwinder Singh ji said in 1st post: Balwinder Singh ji I have the proper answer today!!!!In ardaas when we ask for "amritsar ji ke eshnaan" it is not referring to the Place Amritsar. Here Amritsar means like Amrit Naam. We are asking for eshnaan of Naam so it will wash our sins cuz with Naam we realize God and everything it says in Gurbani. Mr. Singh ji wrote: Yes ji! You are correct! Ramdas is also referring to Naam! Look at the other stuff we ask for in Ardaas (i think it comes before amritsar je ke eshnaan). We ask for kesh daan, rehit daan, bibek daan, bharosa daan (i think), etc: Tank of Nectar is also referring to Naam So Amritsar=Ramdas sarovar=Tank of Nectar=Naaaammmmm If I am wrong someone please correct me.
