  1. Many children at Hazoor Sahib carry rifles, because it is a shastar and Sikhs are Shastardhari. The kirpan is not a symbol, it is a weapon. I would ask some of the more educated members to give the quote from Dasam Granth please, that talks about 5 different weapons. Also, Mai Bhago's rifle exists in India to this very day. Unfortunately, the world as it is today baulks at children carrying weapons because terrorists in Palestine and Africa come to mind. But there is a difference between use of power and abuse of power. I think the answer to whether the child should be carrying the weapon would lie in their motive for carrying it - is it use or abuse?
  2. Read Japji Sahib Kandola http://www.punjabonline.com/sikhism/jap_home.html May I also ask you a question, did you post the details of your personal message with John because you wanted someone to refute his argument for you? A Sikh is someone who is on the path of learning - don't look to others to answer the question, learn the answers for yourself (hence the link to JapJi Sahib).
  3. Please do not quote out of context, it is highly annoying. And from your original post, 'this gora' had a name --> John. Please use it and refrain from labelling him 'gora'.
  4. although I'm not qualified enough to give an opinion on what he said, I think he's entitled to his views and he clearly attempted to describe fully what he meant. I think what he was getting at had deeper connotations then what you perceived Kandola. Whether he is of caucasian origin or not means nothing in the eyes of Waheguru. Am I the only one displeased at the use of your vocabulary here?
  5. I thought the 'grooves' were to allow air into the blow being inflicted, so that the pressure would be equalised (to stop a vacuum forming)?
  6. I am no gursikh. I am not worthy of such a title. I am a hypocrite. I am a criminal. I am a dusht. But as I can see you doubt the abilities of gursikhs. Is this because you have forsaken sikhi and only worship your 5 leaved guru? For such a person, all you can do is scream and cry and tell those who know the truth that they are wrong, while they sit there with a smile on their face in contentment. Possibly. I am a sceptic, I will not deny that. The reason for my scepticism is simple. I believe that these stories of flying Gursikhs arise to give people a false impression of what can be achieved with faith. Similar to that story from some months back where a girl apparently did Ardas when she was confronted by a rapist. The girl was not attacked because the rapist 'saw& #39; two huge Gursikhs escorting the girl. Stories of Gursikhs flying because they were chardi-kala compared to us hypocrites is a nice way of portraying how 'things were better in the olden days'. I have faith in Sikhi and our Guru's, but I just find these stories hard to believe. BUT I am open to change. If I can be convinced then I will humbly retract this scepticism and apologise for my mistake. ps I will NEVER forsake Sikhi Mkhalsa.
  7. With the number of Gursikhs like mkhalsa on this forum, surely someone amongst the members here has flown. Will they be humble enough to present themselves to the sangat please. And if they would be so kind enough, could some of them actually record the event as well.
  8. lol yeah right if you can't answer the question then why resort to cheap insults? only fools resort to insults when nothing valid can be added to the argument. (Interestingly, I wonder what the actions of the admin will be?)
  9. but if halal meat is allowed, won't that be a direct contradiction to the tenets of those wanting a purely vegetarian tee-total totalitarian state?
  10. Well Khalistan would have to legalize meat then, and it would have to be halal to cater for the Muslims.
  11. And when Khalistan is achieved, what then? What plans do you have for the following: Hindus, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, etc Barbers Butchers Meat Eaters Non-Amritdharees Alcohol Drinkers Cannabis Drinkers Bhangra music Hindi music ??? Also, have you thought of the infrastructure of the Khalistani Government? Will it be a dictorial one (like Maharaja Ranjit Singh) or a 'democratic' one (bearing in mind that no true democracy exists)? What about foreign policy? Will you advocate sending an army to Pakistan in order to reclaim the other 2/3rds of Punjab? Will you ensire that Kashmir is also returned? What will your relations be like with Britain, since Britain was the empire that ultimately screwed the Sikhs over with false promises? Will I be allowed to come to Khalistan with a British passport? My opinion is that there is a problem in India, but I'm not sure if khalistan is the best solution.
  12. s s Jhamka, your ignorance is flattering. Unfortunately for your inflated ego, not everyone who is unaligned to BOSS is a nang. Who are these Sikhs then? I have no desire to become embroiled in a slanging match with you. But the fact remains that members of SP (mainly those from East London/Kent) are involved in drug dealing and credit card fraud. Some members of SP still have outstanding warrants issued against them. And yet BOSS have deemed it necessary to form an alliance with them. I would rather not have had to state the above, but it seems that you forced my hand. Obvious replies to this post will go along the lines of "If you know this then why don't you inform the police", so I'll pre-empt the question and answer it now. SP will no doubt dissolve in time, and history will show that BOSS made a mistake in forming an alliance with them. In fact, I don't think the alliance would have raised many eyebrows if BOSS had collaborated with the more ethical members, instead of asking people like 'Dosanjh' and 'Injection' to become involved. So the case for my defence is simple: time. If in a few years time the alliance holds strong and London universities benefit as a result, then I will humbl y ask you for forgiveness. Daas Gupti
  13. Apparently there is a technique called Sanjam Kiriya taught by puratan Nihangs.
  14. If memory serves correct, some members of BOSS collaborated with members of SherePunjab who had links with BNP. People will go to any lengths to gain power (eg London Sikhi week, Autumn 2003).
  15. Got sent another link yesterday: There's some very interesting stuff on there. Check out the child's Chain Mail shirt and the 6ft long Nagani Spear (apparently made famous by Bachitar Singh who killed a drunk elephant by driving the spear into the forehead of the charging animal).
  16. Found this on the site, very true. Also, there's a nice story regarding Bhai Sahib Randhir Singh.
  17. This was forwarded to me: Please visit WWW.SARBLOHWARRIORS.COM, the graphics are of excellent quality. Fateh Mod Edited : Link Fixed -10
  18. But if he died, how did the story come to reach us?
  19. When all else fails, it is pious and just to blame a mona. Ridiculous.
  20. Check this out: http://www.sikhawareness.com/sikhawareness...3971&highlight=
  21. Thats all very good abt the car, but I knew someone who wasn't so fortunate. In fact, the person I knew was very unlucky, 99 times out of a hundred the accident would not have been fateful. (Please note, I didn't write my previous posts with this in mind). I'm sceptical of stories where people say: "I heard so and so happened once...". In fact, in complete contradiction to what I appear to have said so far, I fully believe you when you talk about your friend. Why? Because this was about someone that *you* know. You have shared this story with us and I would not doubt the validity of what you are saying because you know your friend. Unfortunately noone knows the girl in the original story and my personal belief is that its because the story is made up. I 1st heard it a couple of years ago, and fair to say, I was in awe. But I stand by one of my original posts:
  22. Actually it couldn't have. It would have had to have been fertilised first.
  23. My opinion is that nobody knows the girl because the girl didn't exist. The story was probably made up so as to be inspirational to Sikh youth.
  24. I'm too sceptical with these kinds of stories. I heard that this occured in Nottingham and that the girl was walking back from a club on her own (even though she doesn't drink). The reason I'm sceptical is this: if someone on this forum really takes heart to this story and it inspires them then good. But what if that person is walking home on their own late at night and they realise that 2 potential muggers are following them? If the muggers then attacked that person, even after that person did the same thing that the girl in the story did, chances are he/she are going to get mugged. Agreed? Well think about the consequences. The poor guy/girl could be thinking: "I did exactly the same thing that the girl did, why did it not work for me? What did my Guru's not come to my aid? Am I not a good Sikh?" etc etc These kinds of stories are hard to believe, and the evidence is all around us. We do Ardaas everyday and hope that the Gurdwara's all over the world are looked after, yet the state of some of our Gurdware in Pakistan is quite bad. Why hasn't our Ardaas worked there? Is everyone bar this girl such a manmukh that our Guru's will not hear our anguished requests? Obviously not. Going off on a tangent here. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that although stories like these are inspiring, it does not mean that they are 100% true. The person who heard it on Punjab radio, can they give more details so we can verify the source that Panjab radio used (hopefully the girl herself). Bhull Chuk Maaf
  25. Sorry to sidetrack the current 'debate' (by the way, German cars can't be beaten Mr Singh!!), but I have a bone to pick with the moderators over a certain issue. We recently had a thread where a guy called Kamalroop was spoken about at length. A lot of allegations were made about him, one of which was by MKhalsa about an apparent stalking of a girl. The thread in question got locked after someone levelled the same allegation at MKhalsa. I personally find this hypocritical - I took a neutral point of view abt Kamalroop because a lot of what he said is the kind of stuff that all Nihangs come out with, and this stuff abt him stalking girls was unsubstantiated. But I don't like this method of one rule for them (eg Nihangs) and an another rule for us. We should judge ourselves by a more rigid yardstick than we judge others. Just my thoughts, and hope I haven't upset anyone too much. Also, if I got my facts wrong and the mods were to correct me then fair enough - I'm only human and we all make mistakes. Bhull Chuk Maaf MOD-1 Note : Pajee/Phanejee I closed that thread because we got several "Report the Posts" emails from our forum members and they want that thread to be deleted/close. Four members voice VERSUS yours.. I think i will go with majority here.
