  7. wjkk, wjkf it looks to me like the furthest one in the pick with the pegs on the side & top is a sitar, the smaller one in the foreground is a tumbi. hope that helps! stay in chardi kalaa
  8. wjkk, wjkf I heard another story about a newly wed couple divorcing after only a few days because the husband wouldn't allow his wife to drive his new car that the brides father had brought as a wedding present for them.... very sad....very materialistic.... if thats all it took to break them up, what was the marriage based on?!
  9. wjkk, wjkf i was just wondering how many of you actually have the knowlegde of how to use the weaponry that you have as oppose to just having them in your house? just a thought... stay in chardi kalaa

  11. wjkk, wjkf At times the situation seems hopeless; you have all raised very valid points. However i humbly request that you all consider this point - Yes, things maybe different then the 'good old days,' but then what do you expect in this time of kaljug? But there is still (with kirpa of Maharaj) a great deal of bakshish & piaar in regards to sikhi. I believe that it depends where you decide to look, a generalisation lacks a degree of accuracy, a generalisation of a misrepresentative sample lacks even more accuracy. If everyone spent more time & effort on conducting themselves with sincerity the paanth would look after itself. As for the ending of Sikhi - how is this possible if we are part of the eternal Khalsa? Stay in chardi kalaa... wjkk, wjkf
  12. wjkk, wjkf Rochak Malang ji, i'm not judging people by whether they cut their hair or not, if anyone judges (which is inevitable, its human nature) it should be on how the person conducts themselves, actions speak for themselves... all i meant by my previous post was that it is wrong for people to try to munipulate the meaning of gurbani to try to justify what they are doing; its important to have a foundation of understanding & acceptance of what sikhi is about. afterall sikhi is about logic, nothing is merely ritualistic & demanding 'blind sabmission' from its followers bhul chuk maaf... wjkk, wjkf
  13. .... people whould have enough backbone to admit that what they are doin is goin against the teachings of sikhi as oppose to trying to take quotes out of the sggs out of context to argue a point which has no base... plz forgive my conviction... wjkk, wjkf
  14. wjkk, wjkf agree with nirgun, our exterior is important, ithere is no doubt to that but its vital that spiritually you are growing to support what you physical appearance suggests. stay in chardi kalaa.... wjkk, wjkf
  15. wjkk, wjkf You shouldn’t think of sikhism as being so rigid esp. when it comes to simran – something which should be as constant as our heart beat. Reading / listening to other bani in addition to doing the panj bania increases your spirtual growth & isn't that the ultimate aim for every student of guru ji? Personally i listen to kirtan/simran at night as it helps me to clear my mind & fall asleep. At the end of the day if it helps you to focus your mind on sikhi, then where’s the problem? stay in chardi kalaa wjkk, wjkf
  16. wjkk, wjkf ms514, akhand jaap organisers are on the case & will strive to get a/j 5 aswell as a/j6 onto the net. will keep you posted :umm:
  17. wjkk, wjkf there's no need for that Rochak Malang ji! don't waste ur time @ my feet when you can b @ someone elses whose much more beneficial
  18. wjkk, wjkf. its important for people to understand that treating someone with the same respect as eg bro/sis doesn't neccessarily mean you see them as such. its more about setting the boundries; its sort of just become a fashionable thing to call everyone paaji/panji. personally i refuse to call someone paaji/panji unless i truely see them as such, afterall this kind of relationship is so pure & strong, it shouldn't be chucked around lightly... calling someone paaji completely removes the possibility for me to even consider any marital stance for the future with him & as mentioned before, make everyone a panji/paaji you've no one left to make your better half. B) ...its comes down to this; whatever you do, be sincere - not for show... bhul chuk maaf
  19. wjkk, wjkf thanx singh ji, think i've become a forum stalker of urs lol,
  20. wjkk, wjkf prehaps a more benifical question would be (for those who do carry the panj kakkar) is do they understand the significance of each kakkar... what is the point of carrying your kirpan if you don't know how to use it - there's more to it then 'the pointy bit goes into the other person...' just a thought... bhul chuk maaf
