The most obvious, if for some reason I am dis armed and do not have my Kirpan on my person (Waheguru forbid) i can take one of five shaaster from my dhumaala and use the shaaster as a secondary weapon. If you place the shaaster in the same position each time and leave the handle visible it is very easy to take the shaaster out. 2. I have a lot of pyaar for shaaster and keepin sarbloh shaaster on your head to me is a sign of respect. If i could i would keep more on my person all the time but in this western world it is not possible to carry loads of shaaster on you all the time so i just keep the five in my dumaala and my kirpan. Most of the time i leave them on display to show my pyaar for shaaster and that i am not embarrased about my physical appearance and that i am proud to be a soldier of The Khalsa Panth, some may say its ego and just for show but thats kool, i dont mind when people do nindhia of me. Also a tip to keep your shaaster secure and not to rip your dastaar material is to place the shaaster inbetween laars and not to place them in after and keep the handle out as this makes it easy to pull the shaaster out if need be. Untouchable - I dont know a lot about Patarai but from what i have researched on Misls i have found that the Ramgharia Gurdwareh have nothing to do with caste as the Ramgharia Misl of The Khalsa Army was of mixed "castes" and not just for one particular caste. The founder of the Ramgharia Misl was Sardar Khushal Singh who was a Farmer (Jatt) from the village Gaggo Booha in Amritsar. He was baptised by Baba Banda Singh Bahadur. After the death of Sardar Khushal Singh, Nand Singh also a farmer (Jatt) of Sanghana took over the Misl and was the next leader. On March 29th 1748 in Amritsar Nand Singh re named the Misl as Sanghainan Misl which then later became known as the Ramgharian Misl. The three Grand Sons of Hardas Singh a carpenter (Tharkan) from the village Sur Singh, Amritsar who was baptised by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji himself joined Sardar Nand Singhs Misl and one of the the three brothers Jassa Singh was apointed the Misl Commander. So from this it is clear Ramgharia had nothing to do with caste its just Tharkans named Gurdwareh after Jassa Singh and this became caste associated just because Jassa Singh was Tharkan which is wrong because Ramgharia Misl was a Misl of the Khalsa Panth which obviously denounces castes. No disrespect to Ravi Daas followers but to put Ramgharia Gurdwareh and Ravi Daas Temples in the same boat is not right because Ramgharia Misl has been a strong part of the Khalsa Panth where as the Ravi Daas followers have nothing to do with the Panth. Although i do agree that it is wrong for the Ramgharia Gurdwareh to be caste orientated, very wrong and needs to be stopped soon along with their party antics. When my Bibi was alive i asked her about this and she said that back in Punjab when she used to visit the Gurdwara like some of the Sangaat mentioned above what happened was a lot of "higher" caste Sikhs never let the "lower castes" come around and get involved with Sikhi. Everyone knows this is wrong and has no place in Sikhi but it happened. So the "lower" castes were forced to make their own following and started following Bhagat Ravi Daas Ji's teachings and this led to the Guru Ravi Daas Temples. My Bibi said she used to see people get beat up and thrown out the Gurdwara simply because they was "lower" caste, what a disgrace :D I dont see anything wrong with it at all because they do not claim to have anything to do with the Paanth, they do not have a Nishaan Sahib on their Temples and they dont claim Bhagat Ravi Daas was a Guru of Sikhi, so whats the problem? Everyone needs a path to follow and every Sikh knows Bhagat Ravi Daas teachings were truely Chardi Kala. So let them do their thing and follow their path. Its no way near the biggest paap in the world, acutally how can performing Kirtan regardless if the Langaar hall has chairs or not be paap??? If thats the biggest paap you commited then you are truely Chardi Kala and you need not worry about it all.
