  1. You should try: www.weebly.com its dead easy to create a great website in less then 5 minutes and it's free!!!
  2. Yeah I agree...do a repair...I'm famous for messing up my windows PC's (alas I am now a MAC user and guess what...NO MORE BREAKDOWNS!!!)..... I would often dual boot with linux and would often ruin the master boot record or mess something up so windows would come up with some stupid messages like the one you mentioned. The best thing to do is to stick the windows cd in during boot and repair it. DO NOT reinstall it... If you repair (or I think you can UPGRADE)...it will keep all you files and directories and programs intact and just reinstall the main windows files. If you haven't got the windows disc just borrow one of someone to repair the pc with.
  3. That was a VERY inspirational story!! I think the message of this thread is far simpler...if you are AmrtiDhari...if you avoid alcohol and meat...why on earth would you want to promote others to eat meat and drink alcohol????? It's like if you a policeman or woman...upholding the law when you are at work, but when you get home you help you mates take part in drug dealing, theft, robbery..etc etc etc. It comes down to double standards....
  4. thanks for the info....doesn't look like there are any up in manchester!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Does anyone know where I could learn to the play the sitar in the UK?
  6. True, but it's worrying that the frequency seems to be becoming greater and perhaps with a hint of greater sense of malice.
  7. Thank goodness the MODS have seen sense and closed the most recent post by sikh-youth-uk about the incest issue and Muslim....seems like EVERYONE is jumping on the band wagon and criticising any aspect of Islam for the purpose or stirring debate...which is probably not very constructive at all. I for one am glad that particular discussion thread was stopped and I hope people see the sense in NOT trying to criticise anyone else's religion and actually start to criticise themselves for a change!!! :WW: :WW: :WW:
  8. I love XMAS....my brother gives me 200 quid, my mom and dad give me a cheesy card with a teddy bear sitting in a racing card....my nani gives me 5 pounds. My dad cooks his 'once a year potato onion and black peper pie', mom makes rock hard sprouts (dad complains that he always gets soft boiled vegetables), brother makes his usual cake (eggless) and cheesecake. We all enjoy cheap crackers that my dad bought from the market that don't go bang and give out stupid little gifts.... Then we all pretend to enjoy a posh drink (which is really that fizzy red drink that comes in a bottle and costs about 2 quid from Asda). Ahh...the joys of xmas
  9. Facebook is depressing...not only does it remind me how old I'm getting (all my friends are married off with kids now) but also it really shows you the 'true' face of Sikhi nowadays...such a shame these kids are soo lost!!!!
  10. Just to correct you, 'SOME' try to convert you......my 2 closest friends are muslims and they have NEVER tried to convert me. Don't defame an entire religion based on those people who do actively go out and mass-convert people. BUT, you are right, SOME muslims are VERY dedicated to their religion and we can learn something from them.
  11. Leopard is pretty good. There are some neat tricks in it...the apple site has a list of the over 300 additions over 10.4 http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/300.html the new version is not graphically any better then the old version...but the little tweaks are really good. I don't think you can make the same comparison with XP and Vista...as XP came out in 2001 and Vista 2007, compared to 10.4 and 10.5, which is a year or 18 months difference.
  12. This Facebook group MUST be controlled in a functional and useful way....rather then the usual Islam-Bashing and Muslim-Bashing that usually goes on. These issues are MUCH MUCH MUCH more complicated that most people think...it's not simply that our girls or boys are getting into troubles with other religions or bad crowds. The group is a noble thought, but I wonder how many wannabe's and ganster-types are hooking onto the group and 'Biggin Up Da Khalsa Cause'. The SAS (www.sasorg.co.uk) and The NWSSN (www.nwssn.co.uk) can provide much more focussed and centralised and CONTROLLED environments within which to tackle these complicated issues.
  13. I wonder whether peoples views (i.e. non-Sikhi and those who are against any sort of wearing religious items viewpoint) would change if you asked them the question "Is it acceptable for a Christian to wear a cross at school?". Because this issue involves a non-white student, I'm sure there will always be some biased from those people who know nothing about Sikhism or Islam and hence their outright objection to wearing a Kara or Burka, possibly out of a lack of knowledge (and even the roots of racism in many Caucasians populations where there are lots of foreign immigrants).
