Their voice is amazing, and they are one of the few Darbar Sahib Jathas that do Keertan in a variety of Raags and Taals. I wish all Darbar Sahib Keertanees were like Bhai Narinder Singh. These days (especially the young Jathas) don't do Keertan in Raag and more often than not, they just copy the tunes of other Jathas like Bhai Harjinder Singh, Bhai Niranjan Singh, etc. Bhul Chuk Maaf Waheguru

I think the talk is a careers talk anyway, not one on Sikhi - if a Sikh society promotes this, there is nothing wrong with it, as Sikhs need to be in good jobs/professions, so that we can influence the outside world towards Sikhi perspectives/views. The UCL Sikh Society is very active. Don't have a go at it - its trying to do its best - we are all Bhullan Haar and can make mistakes. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! What is the exact status of the SGPC Rehat Maryada. I always hear stuff from all Jathebandis that it is incomplete in some way. The most obvious being that it only requires 3 Nitnem Banis in the morning. However, nearly every Gurmukh, Jathebandi and Sampardha says that Nitnem requires 5 Nitnem Banis to be done in the morning. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! My vote still goes with Labour. OK - they might not be perfect, but they are still sympathetic towards Sikhs/ethnic minorities generally I think. As far as Jeevan's personal experiences go, I cannot comment much, but generally they are very active in trying to tackle discrimination. The issue of positive discrimination is quite a big political step, and although not in place yet, I think we may gradually be moving towards it. Also, as far as Sikh representation in the public sector - this is partly the fault of Sikhs - Sikhs prefer to stay in private sector because more £££'s :wub: . As far as tuition fees go - this was a general issue to do with University funding - I don't think they targeted Sikhs for any particular reason; and investigating Ricky Reel's murder - well the government cannot influence this - this is an operational decision to be made by the Met.
