  1. Salaam Ali'ikum Yasmin Sister I apologize on behalf of my brothers. I think they shouldn't have used derogatory words with Muslims. My message to them is just that as Ambassadors of Sikhi, we should all think that would our Gurus have ever acted like that? I hope your kind heart would forgive them. Plz stay on the forum because we have a lot to learn from you. Khuda Hafiiz :TH:
  2. One fundamental difference between middle eastren faiths viz a viz hinduism etc is the concept of Dhuri ki bani. 1.All major faiths claim that there word came from God thru an Angel or god/demi god as in case of vedas. While sikhi says that there is no intermidiatary between you and God and God doesn't needs angels to convey his message. God is within us all and can speak from anywhere. 2. The second concept is will of God. Other religions believe in Will of God but they do have free will. There is no free will in sikhi as whatever we do we think we are doing it because of Ego. In essence we are puppets being pulled by Waheguru. Bhaji actually Budhism has many concepts and Budha's discourses on mind very similar to Sikhi. Budha also said that A true conqourer of the world is the one who has conqoured his mind. I am posting some quotes by Budha and to see how much they are similar to sikhi also
  3. khalsa ji Please prescribe me some vegie recipes(protein rich), I am styaing on campus and I am dying from hunger. thank you
  4. Mehtab veerji I am not talking about that stone in Baghdad where it is inscribed that Baba Nanak visited baghdad. I am talking about stone inside kabba. My question to yasmin sister was that Is there a one and whats its signifigance?
  5. Yasmin bhenji How are you? I heard there is a sacred stone inside the kabba is it true? I am sorry if the source of my information is false otherwise if you could explain us the signifigance of stone inside Kabba?
  6. On what ocassion was that party being held?
  7. Simran kaur bhenji how are you? fateh!! I think Guru nanak's parents also first prohibited guru nanak to do things related to sikhi, eg when he refused to accept the Jeneu and refused to marry mata sulakhani around the "bedi". Guru nanak sahib respectfully disagreed. Even kabir sahib mother used to call kabir as crazy. So what did all these people do in such situations? I guess respectfully disagreed. There is a shabad in gurbani where Namdev bhagat ji was forced by muslim king to utter allah otherwise he would be tortured, he refused even when his own mother said to naamdev to do what the king says as this is the best for him. sewak singh bhaji beautifull quote if I could have the Ang number?
  8. This doesn't mean understanding what is going to happen in future, this means understand the HUkam of present and live under his will.
  9. I have also read it and I am again confused why would Guru sahib do it. Sikhi doesn't believes in prophecies and in japji sahib nanak sahib have said "Hukami hovan akaar hukam na kaheya jaai" Beacause if you know what is going to happen in future, how would you live in your present?
  10. Is it a fiction? So the freind she was calling was her husbnad and she couldn't recgnize his voice? How?

  14. I completly agree with Man kaum de lai Qurban veer Jaspaul singh ji How can you use pictures for inspiration? Inspiration comes from inside and when you tell kids without pictures they build themselves very strong inside because they don't have to depend upon outside images. Inside build up is more strong than anything outside. EG. The 6 yr old muslim kids probably knows much about his/her history than a 6 yr old sikh kid knws these days who is bz playing pokemon and cartoons.
  15. CK singhani Bhenji We should first know that Guru Granth sahib is our Guru. Pictures create an imaginative pattern and once you have seen them you take them to be true(if you were taught in childhood that this picture is of guru). We don't need a picture here. Our Bani should be picture. The problem is psychological here. We need the pattern of Guru granth sahib in us. We just look at the picture and say “Dhan baba nanak” this is naïve, we need to contemplate guru granth sahib and bani immediatly rather than immediately contemplating the image/picture of guru in our mind. Do we ever get the picture/essence/love of a shabad in our mind we say the word "guru" or do we get the picture of "Physical guru created by artists"? You see the point. We don't get the message. That is why Sikhs kaum is not spiritually strong right now. We don’t even have a country. It is a psychologically breaking us from shabd. Why do we need pictures to understand the history of Gurus? We can do it otherwise.
  16. I agree there should be no pictures. You don;t get the message but get attached to the picture.
  17. It is the EGO which is the origin of Kaam krodh lobh Hankaar. Guru sahib writes Think about it why we get Angry? Because someone just hurted our Ego. Why we get Lobhi? Because our ego wants more Why we get Kaami? Our Ego sees the person as a sex object. Why we get Mohi? We love too much our Ego.
  18. Also we need two more points: 7: Insignia: Every national has its Insignia which highlights ideology of that nation. "India's insignia is Ashoka's pillar adopted after 1947." What was India's insignia before British? The Khalsa Panth's national insignia is Khanda. Its ideology clearly states the falsehood and truth are separated by double edged sword. A central chakr representing a timeless God and Swords of Miri Piri defending around it. 8: National Bird: Every nation has a national Bird. The US has Bald Eagle. What is India's national bird? The Nation Khalsa national bird in Falcon. Why? Because a Falcon never preys on the dead and it is never caged in, Representing the Free and Honest living of Khalsa.
  19. It was awesome to read all this. So simple but so hard to understand for many. Bhai sahib made it clear that india is a creation of British empire. Also just to add all our Gurus remained sovreign. The concept of Miri Piri states that one can fight on two causes. First being Political and second being for Dharam. Guru sahib was a great politician because if you loose battle in politics ultimately you have lost the first battle and the enemy would wipe your dharam now. I don't agree with people who say Gurus never kept terrotories. This is wrong. They even defended the lands where they live. Guru Sahib never kept terrortories out of Maya, but they kept Anandpur,Amrtisar, hargobindpur, goidwal like terrotories and places to live with forts around them and compelete sovreignity of a nation inside. Most battles that Sikhs fought were based on Miri and defending the land where you live.
  20. How did Mughal empire fall? What were its reasons? Your responses:
