  1. http://santsipahi.or...icles&Itemid=66 Significance of Parkarma or Lawan Gurcharanjit Singh Lamba, editor 'Sant Sipahi' Lawan literally means circumambulation or taking rounds around another venerated object. This act of orbiting is the principle of nature and adopted universally from time immemorial. In Sikh theology this has been adapted as a duty to do the routine Parkarma of Guru Granth Saheb or Gurdwaras and also at the time of Anand Karaj. The terms for this are ਵਾਰਨੇ ਜਾਣਾ, ਘੋਲ ਘੁਮਾਈ etc. and have been used in abundance in Guru Granth Saheb: ਹਉ ਵਾਰੀ ਘੁੰਮਾ ਜਾਵਦਾ ॥ 1 ॥ (ਗੁਰੂ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਪੰਨਾ: 1297) CONTINUE READING
  2. Guru Sahib explains this in the first pauree of Jaap Sahib ਤਵ ਸਰਬ ਨਾਮ ਕਥੈ ਕਵਨ ਕਰਮ ਨਾਮ ਬਰਨਤ ਸੁਮਤਿ ॥ How can anyone describe all Your names. The wise describe You by the names associated with Your actions and excellences. All the misunderstandings and confusions will be cleared if one reads Guru Sahib's bani with this one teaching in mind.
  3. What is Darshan wearing - white clothes! Didnt he declare in 2008 that until his death he is going to wear black clothes in protest against the Dasam Bani.. Bunch of liars, charlatans and hypocrites. They only know how to stir confusion and create rift. As for Ghagga, he simply got what he has been asking for for so long now.
  4. If you want to listen to his bakwaas then listen to this...Same Kala Afghana/Darshan Ragi talk http://video.google....916184368625739 Listen from 6 minutes onwards..He is indirectly questioning all the Dasam Bani. Last year he was in Toronto to attend a seminar organised by renegade Ragi Darshan Yes, he had applied for the job of the Granthi of Darbar Sahib and timely intervention by the Panthic organisations spoilt his game.
  5. Thanks PJS Ji for doing the extensive post mortem of this document....As you suggest, it is hard to believe that a high profile secret agency would do such (silly) mistakes in a document. Though I have no doubt that some people mentioned in the letter do work for Indian Govt Agencies, I dont think they will be exposed by such a letter It would be very hard to believe that after 1984 Govt agenices wouldnt resort to tactics by which they create confusion among Sikhs by planting the likes of Kala Afghana, Dilgeer, Darshan Ragi, Spokesman - all of them turncoats.
  6. Interesting. Southall Youth can you please post the source and reference of this letter. The phrase 'Perplexing the Sikh community' is the crunch of this document. And in retrospect all the confusions and issued raised from time to time by these individuals can now be understood. Interestingly it also mentions the fake RSS list that was under circulation sometime ago. According to this, Dilgeer prepared that fake list.... As for Dilgeer's character, well I also know few Singhs in Europe who knew him closely, that Dilgeer was a hardcore boozer. And the way he has changed his beliefs (now questioning Akal Takhat's authority, Dasam Bani etc) cannot just happen without the influence of money.
  7. The following is from Indian Express, 12 August 2003 ----------------- Vedanti defends Gurbilas, Calcutta backs him S.P. Singh CHANDIGARH AUGUST 12 BREAKING Months-long silence in the face of severe criticism of his edited work Gurbilas Patshahi 6, Akal Takht Jathedar Joginder Singh vedanti has now strongly defended his intellectual labour, told his detractors to understand the difference between authored and edited works and said the work is the richest source material on the life and times of sixth Sikh Guru. Vedanti’s defence comes close on the heels if the latest book of controversial cop-turned- Sikhism preacher Gurbaksh Singh Kala Afghana which castigated Vedanti for editing and propagating and allegedly anti -Sikh book. "We took upon ourselves the difficult job of comparing and correcting the available texts with the old hand-written manuscripts--We also wrote a detailed preface and make it clear that this is a source about the many important events connected with the life of Guru-Hargobindje, like the creation of Akal Takht," Vedanti told community journal Sant Sipahi in a tape-recorded interview, transcript of which were made available to The Indian Express. The SGPC, under is new dispensation, also seemed to be backing Vedanti tip the hills and SGPC Secretary Manjit Singh Calcutta said Gurbilas was published by him during his earlier stint at the same job and SGPC would take note of those destroying the Sikh ethos by criticizing Akal Takht. Vedanti, who denied that Kala-Afghana was excommunicated due to any personal ani mosity, as alleged by the Canada-based author, had so far maintained scene about his own work Kala Afghana, before his ex-communication last month, was summoned repeatedly by the community’s top temporal seat but cited health and other reasons for not appearing. "The Siks should be cautious about these people whose motive is to deprive the Sikhs of all source material published after 1718, including all the Gurbilas, Suraj Praksh, Mahima Praksh, Panth Praksh, Rahitnama etc. Which book would we the depend upon to write our history? Will we go to the government to seek our history?" Vedanti said, He said there was "no ban on Gurbilas and this will be available from the book-stalls of SGPC and elsewhere." Calcutta, praising Vedanti’s book said, " if this book is not there, then we do not have any other book about the life and times of Guru Hargobindji. The SGPC will continue its job of bringing out further research materials." Vedanti said except for Gurbilas, no other book has the mention of creation of Akal Takht. " I and Bhai Amarjit Singh, who was then professor at Shaheed Sikh Missionary College Amritsar, were given the job of editing this main source book on the occasion of the sixth Guru’s 400 birth anniversary--. My job was to edit the already available book which had been published many times including thrice by the Languages Department," Vedanti said. He said Bhai Santokh Singh had also written momentum works like Guru Partap Suraj Granth, Guru Nanak Partap etc and these were edited by Bhai Vir Singh. "Certain points which are being raised about Gurbilas also figure verbatim in Gur Partap Suraj Granth and other book of Bhai Santokh Singh edited by Bhai Vir Singh," the Akal Takht jathedar said, Vedanti made it clear that he planned to take head-on Kala Afghana supporters. "We are closely watching the activites of those collaborating with him and I assure they will be taken to jusice. No one is above the Hukamnama and no one will be allowed to cross his limits."
  8. Please calm down and read me correctly. What Sikhs could or should have done is a different matter altogether and this is not the discussion of the above question. Sikh leadership could have demanded a separate state. If the Sikh leadership was not smart enough then its our bad luck...Kapur Singh was also in the same team. But the question is were they getting Khalistan. Not even Kapur Singh accepts that to be true. Sikhs were powerful and main party because the fate of Punjab was in their hands. If they decided to go with Pakistan, Punjab would remain undivided. Whereas going with India meant Punjab had to be divided as the Muslims wouldnt agree to an undivided Punjab from going to India. There is no point in repeating things here. I have made my point quite clear. So if you cant read my contentions, then please dont misquote me.
  9. So its clear that this so called offer of an independent state made to the Sikhs is based on speculations. There is no denial that Sikhs were powerful. There were three main sides (political parties) representing India in any kind of negotiations with the British - Congress, Akali Dal and Muslim League. As you rightly pointed out, this was the reason both Congress and Muslim league were luring the Sikhs. It was the general mistrust the Sikhs had with the Muslims which was also influenced by the history they had with the Muslim rulers that they didnt accept their proposal but in turn demanded the partition of Punjab. Even Kapur Singh accepts that decision as fair. So the answer to the above question, "Were Sikhs Getting Khalistan in 1947?" is NO
  10. Well there is no proof whatsoever that Sikhs were offered an independent State/Country by the British. And because Sikhs were not in majority both in East and West Punjab this kind of offer wouldnt have been acceptable to either Congress or Muslim League. Kapur Singh is the eyewitness to what actually happened and hence on Pg 98 of Saachi Sakhi he writes that Jinnah offered a Sub-nation status to the Sikhs within Pakistan, an offer which Sikh leadership rightly denied. So this theory of an offer of a Sub-nation comes from Kapur Singh's own writing. Still this doesnt deny the fact that Sikhs deserve to have an autonomous state....
  11. Its nonsense....British never offered a free state to the Sikhs. There is no record of this. But as Kapur Singh wrote in his Saachi Saakhi, Muslim League gave a verbal offer to the Sikhs to have a sub nation within Pakistan. And this was never acceptable to the Sikhs, given the history the Sikhs had with Muslim rulers. Dr. Kirpal Singh, an acclaimed Sikh historian and Head of History Department, Punjab University, who has done thorough research on the Partition of Punjab and has also written a thesis on this subject, also says that there was no such offer to Sikhs. He also says that Muslim League offered a sub state to the Sikhs within Pakistan. That would mean the whole of Punjab would go under Pakistan. The Sikh leaders asked if they have a choice and possibility to come out of this in 10 years if things dont work fine. The Muslim League said, No. The Sikhs asked if they can be given anything in writing on this, and the League didnt agree on this either. According to him it was wise deicision by the Sikh leadership that they didnt accept Mulsim League's offer of a sub-state. Rest is history...
  12. This is not probable. Because they found bags not a single bag made of Gurbani Gutkas. So its not possible that a household will give away 50-100 Gutkas as "waste" paper. It is quite probable that the company who made such paper bags got the Gurbani Patras in bulk from the printer or the publisher (Sikh Missionary College Ludhiana)
  13. Very nice! Congratulations. There should be no limit towards doing positive prachar that instills love for Sikhi and Gur-itihas
  14. The following was posted on this forum some months ago by one of the members:
  15. Yes, I have also thought about it. See, last time anyone heard about Ragi was during the late 1980s. After his tenure as Jathedar he almost disappeared from the public arena. No big statements, no news etc. During that time he must have been busy establishing his business (GG Academy), moving to Tornoto, getting in touch with Kala Afghana and alike. It was quite clear that he was being influenced by Missionary minded people and had a soft corner for Kala Afghana ideology when he praised Kala Afghana in one of his articles some years ago. Then only a few years ago he started to appear publicly in Punjab. Sharing political stage with Congress leaders. Then Sarna brought him to Delhi where he started the whole controversy on a big scale. Almost as if he was "planted" by someone to create confusion and rift in the Panth. He and his masters must be happy with his performance.
  16. ...and another classical example of someone (in this case this 'harsimritkaur'. I am pretty sure this is not her/his real identity/name) stirring a nonsensical debate. Stirring emotions by writing phrases such as "I met some Hindu Pandits" is quite classical. Moderators/Administrators need to activate their 'third eye' to tackle such nuisance.
  17. A video of Dr Harbhajan Singh from Fateh Diwas. Very thought provoking and informative http://www.patshahi1...-2006&Itemid=68 Other videos from Fateh Diwas http://patshahi10.or...id=46&Itemid=68
  18. Disgusting! In one of the related videos from this function someone asked him which of the compositions from Sri Dasam Granth are Gurbani. He replied that none of the compositions from Sri Dasam Granth are Gurbani. According to him they are 'panth parvanat rachnavaan'. This shameless creature and a Kala Afghana stooge now doesnt even consider Jaap Sahib, Chaupai Sahib as Gurbani. Guru Nindak. He is so much drenched in ego that he doesnt even know what might be in store for him. Shame on people like Tehal Singh who invited him to say this trash.
  19. Since when Khalsa become secular? In fact its Shiromani Akali Dal that has now become a secular party on papers. Khalsa is Khalsa and not secular.
  20. Read the thread and look at the times of the posts - nothing was planned here. Where did you hear him blame Sikh Sangat? There were a only a handful of his supporters there. The ordinary Sangat in the Gurudwara wasn't bothered and his supporters didn't have any 'preparation'. The protest was peaceful except for a small skirmish at the end, and there were alot of Singhs inside the Gurudwara as well to deal with Darshan if he got that far. Any event he plans to hold needs maximum exposure so that people know about them, and they can be stopped. Most of the people posting in this thread aren't even in the UK, and if you weren't there, don't spread stories you aren't sure about. Matheen take it easy... Darshan's website is blaming sikhsangat forum http://.org/newspics/2010/03Mar2010/20%20Mar%2010/20Mar10a.htm
  21. Congratulations to those who confronted the Guru Nindak and his supporters. However Ragi and his supporters are already blaming sikhsangat forum (this thread in particular) for plotting an attack against him. And because this thread is public it gave information to his supporters to come fully prepared - even more than the Singhs themlseves. If this is true then I would believe that the aim for which the thread was started has not been fully achieved. We had open our cards publically. Administrators also need to be cautious i believe. I would suggest that for such panthic issues where some kind of strategy needs to be charted out there should be a closed thread where only selected members are allowed to participate and plan an event. Its upto the administrators to select the members based on their panthic stand and their associations.
  22. people in this forum are good and highly creative at making stories and lies, but they never have any solid evidence to back their claims. Guruvah, what lies are you talking about? Until you know what Jachak & Co have recently said about Shasters you will not understand this thread.
  23. If you notice there is always a Sri Sahib placed infront of the Guru Sahib at Harimandir Sahib...Sikhi and Shasters go side by side... Also its not that Missionaries forgot to place any Shaster...Quite clearly they also consider Shasters as idols...thats how skewed their Kala Afghani ideology is! Why this thread? So that you think twice before you consider doing a correspondence course on Sikhism from any Missionary College on this planet.
  24. I have never seen a Gurdwara where Shasters are not placed close to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Its the embodiment of the concept of Sant-Sipahi...Shasters are where the Guru is. However it is now popularly known that 'Missionaries', are quite famous for distorting Sikhi and redefining Sikhi according to their own needs. I am astonished to see the below picture from 'Gurmat Gian Missionary College's' "gurmat" samagam. There is not even a single Shaster placed close to Guru Sahib. What a disgrace and shame! The picture is taken from one of their videos posted on their website.
