    Flirting

I may come off a bit strong here, so bear with me. Wearing indecent clothes, giving up nitnem, giving up going to gurudwara does not "break" amrit either. Something to think about. BTW, why would you flirt in the first place? !!! :S oh and what is "innocent flirting"
  2. And just to help you finish that thought you are saying don't label you sexist because you want to make it clear that you believe this old proverb is sexist and insulting to all men and women alike. Right? It is men, by a massive majority, who need to be reined in, perhaps tied down for good measure, and even 'given a good slap upside the head' if I had to come up with an old wise proverb. Off topic but I would argue that if women had power over men for thousands of years then that proverb would probably have mentioned putting reins on men instead.

^^ I hope you are not referring to me! I asked a simple straight question, I am looking for a simple straight answer.
  5. She's right, men and women aren't equal. Women are higher than men simply by the fact that they give birth to men (and women too of course). We are created perfect. The imperfections are what makes us perfect.

With that logic, you can only share food with people who took amrit from the same physical batta as you ...

  10. Perhaps the question should be when will the amritdhari's become amrit? When will all amritdhari's taste amrit that's hidden deep inside this body? I sure am not one of those who have.

  14. London, Sept 29 (PTI) Here's an advice for modern parents -- don't be too strict with your child, it can turn the toddler into an obsessive hobbyist. Yes, a new study has suggested that children of pushy parents become hooked on their hobbies and they even put their interests ahead of school, work, friends or family, the 'Daily Mail' reported. Lead researcher Genevieve Mageau of the University of Montreal said: "The more controlling parents are, the harder it is for the child to have a harmonious passion for their favourite activity. "Youngsters with a harmonious passion had parents or an entourage that supported them while those with an obsessive passion were raised in an oppressive environment." In fact, according to the researchers, children pushed into perusing a hobby by parents may see doing well at it as a route to gaining attention and affection. For others, it could be a way of escaping the clutches of overbearing parents. "The child learns that by obeying their parents, they will be loved. The risk is that as adults they continue to pursue the activity to maintain self-esteem," Mageau said. The researchers came to the conclusion after quizzing over 600 children and adults about their hobbies and parents. The participants were in the age group of six and 38 years and enjoyed pastimes like playing piano or swimming or skiing. Some were beginners, others experts. The researchers found that children of pushy parents were more likely to be obsessive about their interests -- the findings are published in the 'Journal of Personality'. 19. I heard that part, but what I was asking was what is your motive behind posting this highlighting that specific part? What do you want to know? Kara does ward off evil. I have seen it with my own eyes once, a ghost had possessed someone and that person was trying to talk my amritdhari friend into taking off his kakkars, especially kara, kirpan and simarna. Just because something does not fit your version of Sikhi, does not mean it's wrong. There are millions of things we don't know.
