  7. SAVE ME !!!!! This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Basant on Pannaa 1185 Basant, Fifth Mehl, Hindol: You alone know Your Creative Power, O Lord; no one else knows it. He alone realizes You, O my Beloved, unto whom You show Your Mercy. ||1|| I am a sacrifice to Your devotees. Your place is eternally beautiful, God; Your wonders are infinite. ||1||Pause|| Only You Yourself can perform Your service. No one else can do it. He alone is Your devotee, who is pleasing to You. You bless them with Your Love. ||2|| You are the Great Giver; You are so very Wise. There is no other like You. You are my All-powerful Lord and Master; I do not know how to worship You. ||3|| Your Mansion is imperceptible, O my Beloved; it is so difficult to accept Your Will. Says Nanak, I have collapsed at Your Door, Lord. I am foolish and ignorant - please save me! ||4||2||20|| This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Dhanaasree on Pannaa 675 Raag Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl: One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: O God, please save me! By myself, I cannot do anything, O my Lord and Master; by Your Grace, please bless me with Your Name. ||1||Pause|| Family and worldly affairs are an ocean of fire. Through doubt, emotional attachment and ignorance, we are enveloped in darkness. ||1| 124; High and low, pleasure and pain. Hunger and thirst are not satisfied. ||2|| The mind is engrossed in passion, and the disease of corruption. The five thieves, the companions, are totally incorrigible. ||3|| The beings and souls and wealth of the world are all Yours. O Nanak, know that the Lord is always near at hand. ||4||1||19|| This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Dhanaasree on Pannaa 673 Dhanaasaree, Fifth Mehl: You are the Giver, O Lord, O Cherisher, my Master, my Husband Lord. Each and every moment, You cherish and nurture me; I am Your child, and I rely upon You alone. ||1|| I have only one tongue - which of Your Glorious Virtues can I describe? Unlimited, infinite Lord and Master - no one knows Your limits. ||1||Pause|| You destroy millions of my sins, and teach me in so many ways. I am so ignorant - I understand nothing at all. Please honor Your innate nature, and save me! ||2|| I seek Your Sanctuary - You are my only hope. You are my companion, and my best friend. Save me, O Merciful Saviour Lord; Nanak is the slave of Your home. ||3||12|| This Shabad is by Guru Arjan Dev Ji in Raag Jaithsree on Pannaa 704 Chhant: Save me, any way You can; O Lord God, I am Yours. My demerits are uncountable; how many of them should I count? The sins and crimes I committed are countless; day by day, I continually make mistakes. I am intoxicated by emotional attachment to Maya, the treacherous one; by Your Grace alone can I be saved. Secretly, I commit hideous sins of corruption, even though God is the nearest of the near. Prays Nanak, shower me with Your Mercy, Lord, and lift me up, out of the whirlpool of the terrifying world-ocean. ||1||
  8. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Pyaare saadh sangat jee, often in life we come across situations when our friends and/or family members, whether Sikh or non-Sikh, ask us to go against Gurmat. They do so by pointing out towards other "Amritdharis" or non-Amritdharis who do all sorts of such things and try to convince us that its all ok and no big deal. With this in mind, das has made a small attempt to put his feelings down. A Sikh is seen, yet they can’t see A Sikh is seen with trimmed beard And an attempt is made to have my mind cleared A Sikh is seen wearing jewellery And I am called a fanatic and face mockery A Sikh is seen wearing rings and stones And I am slapped in the face with taunting tones A Sikh is seen visiting Hindu places of worship Forgetting his and his Guru’s relationship A Sikh is seen reciting ritualistic mantars Forgetting Waheguru and running after jantars I am told “See even Sikhs do all this!” But little do they know how much they miss A Sikh is seen wearing ear-rings and chains Forgetting his ancestors’ sufferings and pains I am told “One should change with times” Sorry but these are nothing but crimes Guru Tegh Bahadur Jee – they can’t see Him! Talk about His sacrifice for them, and they remain mum Guru Gobind Singh Jee – they can’t see Him! His unique sacrifices have made everyone dumb They can’t see those countless lovers Who gave their lives but didn’t go for covers They can’t see those who chose not life but death And remembered the Lord with each and every breath > Invisible to their eyes are all those legends Who fought for justice and were called brigands Invisible to their eyes are all those martyrs A new age began and they were the starters What can one say to someone who can’t see Someone who remains blind and from the truth they flee They call some as traitors and their acts terrorism Yet when they kill thousands its all called patriotism What do I say to them who can’t think So blinded by falsehood that they don’t even blink What do I say to those whose knowledge is nil Yet they never give a chance to fill What can one do about them who are lost Few like me are therefore paying the cost Not far is the day when the Khalsa shall rise Destroy this market of untruth amidst victorious cries Not far is the day when superstitions will fail Holding onto Guru Nanak, the pure ones will sail Not far is the day when all foes will be crushed And those who speak lies for money will be forever hushed Then a Sikh will be seen in Gurujee’s true form Following all the codes of conduct and every norm Then Sikhs will be seen in their gifted attire And all soothsayers will run away and retire Then a Sikh will be seen living a life pure and honest Always in rising spirits and full of zest I wait and look forward to that day whenever it may come To free everyone of false beliefs and unite with their true home Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!
