If you need more directions let me know....
  3. I admit...i wear two and sometimes even three keski's to make it look like iv got loads of kesh lol
  4. I think God's always trying to save you. If you look back at some really bad times you have been through in your life, no doubt if you look hard enough you'll realise that you actually gained something from the experience. There is always a lesson to be learnt from everything...
  5. The camp starts on the 29th July to the 3rd August 2007 @ Guru Nanak Gurdwara, 24 Showell Green Lane, Sparkhill, South Birmingham. And since your from bham...you can come and help http://sna.org.uk/cms/content/view/81/2/
  6. Yeh Sundri by Vir Singh was wicked! I'm reading Bhai Rama Singh's book right now which is defo a must read. You can order a copy from www.sikhnation.com. Keep comming out with more book names!!!
  7. GurFateh! Theres a kiddies (8 to 18 year olds) camp comming up soon and was just hoping to get some topic ideas from you guys. What topics regarding Sikhi do you think need to be touched on? Some of you guys might have helped out at previous camps and already have some ideas to pass on or even frequent questions you where asked by kids? As a starter, iv thought of the following... Kesh (as alot of people still can't grasp why we should keep it). The vices (and how they try and control your life). Any ideas welcome! )
  8. Sorry but where and when is mahaan choupai sahib smagam this year ??? First iv heard of it :-S
  9. When I went to Hemkunt Sahib I suffered really badly from altitude sickness and so did another person who was with our group. It kinda happens slowly on you so if there where oxygen tanks available for people...alot of people would aviod the voilent throwing up and weakness caused by it all. It is a life threatening condition and i think they could easily collect donations for some oxygen tanks.
  10. You think thats bad! When i was small and had a bad thoart my gran used to tie this thing around my neck called a 'fahaa' or something. It used to be cotton soaked in ghee! ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww  LOL
  11. I had a really bad cough for weeks and no medicine stopped it. Until a old man told me to drink lemon, honey, salt and ginger mixed into warm and that got rid of it completly within few days! You need to boil the cut ginger pieces in water for a few mins. Then when water is cooled down, mix in the honey salt and lemon. Just keep drinking abit through out the day and trust me will do the job!
  12. PSD I have not yet come across any other english translations but if I do, I will defo post them on here.
  13. Just finished reading this book and was very touched so had to add here too share. Its a story about a young women who becomes a Singhnee and holds the true Khalsa spirit which should run through all Singhnia out there today. About the hardships faced by the Khalsa during the Moghul rule between 1726 - 1745 AD and how they had to spend most of their lifes hiding in thick forests and mountain recesses and could not move around freely. Very good read! Sundri_20__20Bhai_Vir_Singh.pdf

  15. A lot of us may already have paypal accounts set up. Can we do something with that? Maybe set up account where everyone can transfer some money into?
  16. That was beautiful and yes I too think we can all relate to that story in some way! I think everyone eventually comes to a time when they realise your relationship with Gurujee is a personal one between you and him and that you need to build on it. Yes you do need family and sangat to help you but you also got to help yourself too. Beautiful story!
  17. Mal Mal is the best because its so soft. It only keeps slipping off if your keski is mal mal too so make sure you wear a rubia or full vale keski underneath. Then its fine!
  18. Most likely it is rubia vale then (also known as F74).
  19. Yes I remember reading this from the book Se Kanehaa - Baba Harnam Singh  A good read and defo worth reading. You can download from: http://www.rajkaregakhalsa.net/literature.htm
  20. Thinest one is defo Mal Mal which is nice for Gol dastar but because it is so thin don't last very long. I think its the easiest one to tie dastar with too. Next best thing to that is Rubia Vale which is abit more thicker and lasts longer!
