  1. Waheguru. Why do Sikh girls date... my vichaar is that everyone seeks comfort, love and warmth. Those families which don't have relationships/bond with their children, or in families where there is lack of pyaar, little or no comfort and the environment at home is not warming... those girls when OFFERED with flatery, love (well presented as love!) and affection, they become besotted. Things which don't help.... Girls in these situations are VULNERABLE. they need Sangat, they need the pyaar of Guru Ji, they need the warmth of Sangat and affection by fellow Sikh brothers and sisters. HOWEVER sometimes we become stuck in our own worlds and PUSH people away who don't look the way we want them to look or don't behave in the way we do. Furthermore I have seen some Singhs who don't sociolise with Amritdhari who don't share their Jatha's thinking, rehat etc... WAHEGURU... what chance do mone, non-Sikhs etc have in getting to know a person when we are not talking to even Amritdharis! We all need to be positve role models. If you go to Sikh Soc event and see a bhenji sitting alone etc... don't just LEAVE HER! instead get other bhenjis or a group of you ask how she is and make her feel WELCOMED (got to be careful not to look intimidating, remember to portray positive vibes). Girls in the past also may have felt lack of pyaar, comfort and warmth from home - so why didn't they run away with b/f etc. Well its all about OPPURTUNITIES. in the past perhaps there were less oppurtunities. Aj kal we got loads of oppurtunities to loads of good & bad things. If one is vulnerable to the circumstances then we all know what happens. Thats my vichaar. dont know whether i made any sense. said anything wrong then bhul chuk maaf.

  5. Guru Piyaari'o. On Friday I had to hand in the last essay for the TERM. Yippeee!!! :D Rab Da Lakh Lakh Shukar! So I completed the essay and went to uni. First of all I had a tutorial with one my lectures. She was going to give my feed-back on my essay, which I wrote a few weeks back. I was bit nervous but did Ardaas to Guru Sahib for keeping me in His Hukham (Will) and that I don't stress out too much! Sat Naam! The tutorial went well and with Guru's Kirpa I did well in the essay (thank you Guru Ji!). Then I handed in my essay! THANK GOD! So everything out of the way. At 2pm it was my lecture, then FINISHE FOR THE WEEKEND. So I go to the lecture. Quite interesting. Two ladies from a new religious movement (what some people might call a cult) called "Children of God" came to give a talk to us. Ermm.. it was a fascinating to hear what they believed and what they practiced. She said that the main law they follow is "LAW OF LOVE". Teek hai - sounds good. She said "We love everyone and EVERY THING. We love God, Jesus and the CREATION." Question time comes up. So I put my hand up and ask, "You say you Love everyone and EVERYTHING. So can I ask, are you Vegetarians? Meaning do you eat meat?" She seemed a bit taken back by my question, making it sound like I was asking a bit of a bizzare question. She said, "Yes we eat meat. We live in accordance to Bible. We are individuals and we live healthy lives as the Bible says the body is the Temple of the Spirit (i.e. God)." Sat Naam. Reminded me of Gurbaani: What a beautiful concept! How it remains a concept if we don't implement it. I didn't want to argue with the lady, but I thought to myself - "You believe love everyone and you stressed EVERYTHING, yet your love for animals seems to be lost? Its acceptable to lock a thousands of chickens and coop them up in a farm and abuse them and kill then in horrific ways (by the way I am not talking about Halaal slaughter, I am talking about Western meat farms!! Yes Western meat farms! For further info check this video out (WARNING: bit sickening!) however you still claim to love God's creation." :D Chalo! Lecture finished and got out like a shot. Got on the bus (EVENTUALLY!) and made my way back to halls. I was going to pick my vaaja and few clothes, and go back home! (I WAS STARVING - couldn't wait to have some Daal Sabji, considering most of the week I was overloaded with BREAD, SOGEE (thats dried sultanas by the way!), and CHEESE (Waheguru!! Too much cheese can get sickening - trust me!). The same day there was a Gatka programme at Westminster University, which is on Baker Street. So I thought why not kill two birds with one stone (obviously not literally - I don't want RSPA or whoever after me! )... I would pop by to the Gatka event and then from there its a 5 mins walk to Marylebone station, where I was going to catch the train to go back home. The journey to Westminster Uni -- WAHEGURU! It was peak hour! The tube was full. With me was my friends Varinder Singh and Prenmeek Singh. I said "Waheguru" and just went full force ahead on the tube, not bothering that I had a HUGE suitcase with me, which had my vaaja and clothes in. I got on the tube (VERY TIGHT SQUEEZE i must say :D @ ). Varinder Singh and Premneek Singh had to squeeze in on the other carriage as the carriage I was in was FULL (could barely breathe!!!). Sat Naam. Eventually arrived at Baker Street tube station. Rab Da Shukar! I get off and meet Premneek Singh and Varinder Singh, and we make our way to Wesminster Uni. Got there and felt bit EMBARRASSED!!! People were sitting around the room and the door was right in front. I walked wearing my white kurta pjyjama and BIG SUITCASE - it looked like I was going to India or more probably that I had come from India! lol. Saw a few people looking at me and thinking "what's in the huge suitcase!". lol. I couldn't stay for long because it takes 1 and half hours to get back home on the train. Typical Indian timing! So the programme was late 1 hour. So I waited around and chatted to people. Interestingly there was a white English lady sitting next to me. She was the only white lady sitting in the room. I thought I would say hello to the lady. She replied back and didn't say much. She was very quiet and had a peculiar positive aura to her face. Eventually she started a conversation with me. "What are you studying?" I said "a BA in Religious Studies." "Beautiful" she said. "The path of God is beautiful... The Spiritual World is beautiful, marvelous!!" I agreed with her. She said, "this world is false. Yes this world is false, the only truth is God. The spiritual world, seeing God in the world is the true world, everything is false." WAHEGURU! SAT NAAM! The lady was a Roman Catholic, yet her vichaar (views) were as if she was a Sikh of Guru Nanak. She spoke very nicely, and I definately noticed that she was vibrating Naam or something spiritually positive. The shabad which came in my head as she said those things was: I said that I am studying something different to most people (referring to Panjabis). Usually people study law, medicine, engineering or something to do with computers. She said, "Wonderful! You would be good at all of those. Because if you are spiritual person, if you are man of God, if you walk the path of spirituality, then you concentration is FOCUSED. So you will succeed in any part of your life, you will have God's blessings and your mind will always be FOCUSED and prepared for any challenge." Sat Naam. I felt bad and good hearing this. Bad because I asked myself, "O mind! How much faith do you have for Waheguru!" Good because she was speaking the TRUTH and she expressed 100% Drirr Vishvaas (pure commitment and faith) to Waheguru. How amazing. I asked how long have you walked upon this path (i.e. the path of Waheguru). She said, "It has been since the 1970s. I am not 70 years old. You realise the true reality when you lose things around you and your body starts to go down. It is then when I realise true reality. God is the true reality. The spirit of God is everywhere and in everything. It's beautiful. When you come to this stage, you begin to see God everywhere. You no longer see the false world, which we live in, you only see the Glory of God." I said, "I agree with you, definately." She said, "NO! I AM TELLING YOU." "I have reached this stage, and I tell you it is wonderful! I tell you, the more deeper you go in God, the more blessings you will obtain, the more you feel this wonder." Everyday in the morning Nitnem (daily prayer) I read in Anand Sahib: It was WEIRD and AMAZING. Firstly, weird because I was sitting at this Sikh Society Gatka event, and this elderly Gori Roman Catholic lady was sitting next to me. "AMAZING" because once this lady started to talk, she spoke the reality as experienced by Guru Nanak and shared by Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. It just demonstrated the universality of the religion of GURMAT & NAAM. I felt honoured to have darshan of Rab De Piyaare. Dhan Waheguroo! Waheguroo! Leaving I folded my hands and said "fateh" (in mind) to her, as I would do to Gursikhs. Very nice experience meeting her. PART 2, to this story is on my blog.
  6. Just shows how bias the media is. If 5,000 SIKHS, MUSLIMs or Non-Whites did a riot like that and causing terror, then it would be headlines EVERYWHERE and frontpage news.... HOWEVER, this news barely made BBC News or ITN news headlines. Appauling!! During BEshti Play, one person threw a brick and Sikhs were then on Front Page news as brandished as yobos and aggressive... wot about this? Rab Bhalla Kare.
  7. Dhan Baba Fateh Singh Ji!!! Today it is our Great Brother's Birth Day. May Guru Ji bless us all with the Jeevan, faith and conviction which Baba Fateh Singh, at the tendor age of 5 yrs, demonstrated.
  8. Racial Tensions Spark Violence at Sydney Beaches WAHEGUROO! Does anyone have any info whether any Gurdwaras were attacked? I doubt whether drunk racist Gore would know the difference between an Arab and a Singh.... if any Sikhs have any info Sikh Sangat in Sydney then please let us know on the forum. Waheguroo... poor victims who suffered violence for just looking different and being brandished all as trouble-makers. Sat Naam
  9. Perhaps Baba Ji was planning to hold a Rainsbayee Kirtan in the motel room? possible.
  10. Compare milking a cow in Panjab to milking a cow in Western farm factories! BIG DIFFERENCE differene in technique (i.e. by hand NOT machine) difference in Pyaar (they are not kept in cages or given electric shocks) difference in care and respect given to animal (we DONT worship cows like hindus, but we give cows, buffaloes and other domestic animals respect, jus as gora respect dogs and cats) udhaa after watching this programme i felt bit WEIRD and QUEEZY when drinking milk. Waheguroo
  11. People are confused on two concepts - NAAM & Guru.... people manipulate this and use it to their advantage... i.e. claim to be "Sat Guru" and then claim to give "Naam". Naam can be made FIRM (i.e. Naam Dhrirr - as in what the Guru-roop Panj Piaare do) but you can't give someone something, which they already have within them (i.e. "give" Naam). In regards to Jantrs and mantrs and blackmagic.... Waheguru... people can be soooo SIMPLE or STUPID! according to gurbaani, a BHOOT (ghost) is one: 1/ who does not read japji sahib 2/ who does not Waheguru's Simran 3/ who is ungrateful to Waheguru who does a BHOOT stick to: 1/ someone who does wear a Sarbloh Karah 2/ someone who does not read gurbani in morning and sohila at night 3/ someone who does not listen to kirtan and attend sangat 4/ when you doubts the guru and Waheguru 5/ those who drink sharab or take intoxicants. Rabh Raka
  12. Akaal Purakh Di Fauj - in the photo you have posted I was led to believe that it was of Bhagat Puran Ji and his wife, and mother. where did you hear from that he was not married? thanks
  13. Dear Guru Piyaari'o I would like to apologise for the short-coming in the letter I wrote. I got it checked by several people but for some reason they also over-looked the mistake in stating the Kirpan size. I have emailed Daily Express and all the bodies, groups and MPs which I forwarded the email to saying the following: bhul chuk maaf Ps. thanks for sangat pointing out the error
  14. Useful link - "Understanding the Sikh Rehat Maryada" from Panthic Weekly Funeral - Antam Sanskar (Part 1) Funeral - Antam Sanskar (Part 2) Funeral - Antam Sanskar (Part 3)
  15. **PANTHIC SEWA** Hath Jorr Benti to all Sangat... please email Daily Express and complain against how the Sikh Articles of Faith have been misrepresented and portrayed in a distorted way. This distorted information builds up people's ignorance, and ignorance is the cause of racism. Please email: news.desk@express.co.uk expressletters@express.co.uk expresspix@express.co.uk And CC (circulate) the email to your local MP, sikh groups, Commision for Racial Equality etc: info@cre.gov.uk
  16. I feel weird drinking milk now. In Panjab the farmers give so much respect and lookafter the animals (well the one's i saw). Pyaar de naal my taya ji would milk the cows in the morning and evening. Shame that greed and profits leads us to abuse animals and treat them like *don't know what to say, because i can't even comprehend the behaviour of these people* Watching the video it reminded me of how barbaric torturers might have abused sikhs... dunno why that thought came in my mind but it did. by the way this topic aint about MEAT Vs. NO-MEAT (and any controversy) its more about ANIMAL RIGHTS and acting as GOOD HUMAN BEINGs and being CONNECTED & LIVING IN HARMONY WITH MOTHER NATURE. waheguru
  17. I was Mr Sikhnet's blog and I came across a link.... MEAT NOWADAYS IS NO BETTER THAN HALAAL MEAT (IF NOT PERHAPS WORSE!) - Please Watch!
  18. Wall painting in Baba Bakala Sahib Gurdwara, India - photo taken by my friend. I have edited the picture.
  19. Yes I agree with RSingh. Furthermore I would like to share suggestions and advice to Sangat: 1. We needs to be clued up ourselves on why we wear our Kakkaars. If someone stops us we should be able to explain simply, clearly and effectively about the Kakkaars to a non-Sikh. Most people are understanding and appreciate the info. 2. We need to respect ourselves and our Kakkaars before others respect them. DO NOT COMPROMISE! IF someone asks you to take your Kirpaan off. DON'T! This is against Rehat, and is actual against the British Law and a form of Religious Discrimination. Stay cool, remain graceful & respectful but don't give in. If you give in, you jeapordise other Gursikh's rights when they are stopped next time - e.g. Someone may say to a Gursikh, "Take off your kirpan, other Sikhs do it, why can't you?" 3. Portray Positive vibration when in public. Smile, make extra effort to look relaxed and positive. Even if you don't say anything, vibrations are REALLY IMPORTANT. Even if people see Dastaar And Kirpan, but if you are giving out Positive Vibes, most people overlook the fear of Kirpan and Dastaar. 4. Report ANY hate crime or discriminatory incidents to the police. This can be done over the internet. Even something small such as a racist comment by someone walking etc. It helps police to monitor what is happening and we as a community can work with officials to address issues. The website for reporting non-urgent crimes is: http://www.police.uk/services/default.asp
  20. Perhaps we need to UNDERSTAND and IDENTIFY why the lady went out with the bloke..... through this we can find a possible SOLUTION. Random abuse seems pointless. Its a fact the some sikh girls and ladies are getting into relatioships with Muslims guys (through persuasion, luring or whateva - rab jaane).... we need to understand the MIND SET of these girls.... whats missing... what are they seeking .... what do they get from the relationship.... why are they astray from Sikhi Marg etc. Perhaps then this can be CONSTRUCTIVE... and as well as highlighting a problem, we can put our heads together and offer possible SOLUTIONS in hope of PREVENTING future cases. forgive me if this moorakh daas said anything wrong. i haven't read all the posts, so perhaps i have repeated what someone earlier has said, if so, bhul chuk maaf.
  21. Good job i stick to eating Butter! I don't understand why Gore put fish, eggs or wine in random foods. Fish in Fanta, Lilt etc = Sounds crazy! Vege Cottage Pie with WINE = what's the point!! Fish in Margarine = Rab Bhalla Kare. Hope in future we have more simpler food with no random additives and odd ingredients!
  22. lol! thats wot i was gonna say. that the original photos r from Mr Sikhnet. Nice pics
