  1. Sikh pride seems to boil down to wearing an India Cricket top with a beer in one hand, fish & chips in the other. If the paki wasn't going to kick their backsides than us Singhs should have anyway! Isn't there a subtle hidden message in this whole fiasco!
  2. Does anyone really want to live in that state? I think if they could get out of their situation they would.
  3. This tamasha still going on! I suppose people think if they shout loud enough they will get their agenda accross. It's great to see that 500 soormay maan singh haters can turn up to shout gala outside gurdwara. Let's see what other great sewa they are capable of.
  4. Seeing that you guys are in such a giving mood, perhaps you can also send something to this cause as well
  5. Is this the reason why he was killed????? For tilaks??
  6. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Money flushed on extensions, new gurdwaras, nagar kirtan could really improve lives of our brothers & sisters like this. SHS are doing a great job. Please show this video to other Sikhs, so we can start moving more funds to help .
  7. Ford Capri, get yourself checked out! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranoid_personality_disorder
  8. The 8pm discussion was a very informative programme and well handled. It's great to see the potential a Sikh Channel has to offer as we now get a chance to see some real articulate mature views being forward about 1984 and Khalistan. I must admit I was very impressed with Ranjit Singhs Srai's argument and I think Sukhi Bart (the presenter) focused on the right questions and moved the discussion extremely well. The naujwan presenting the factual part after 10pm was also very informed and the material was well researched. This new medium available to UK Sikhs will prove to be pivotal in shaping our future decisions. Please keep bringing on these kinds of articulate speakers and not those ancient pendu hot headed babbar/feddy talkers who do not have the skills to discuss or present anything in the 21st Century. Many thanks
  9. LOL. Oh Ford Capri, Still paranoid about the opposite gender? If it's not ones sister that needs following than its one's fiance. Why not send out detective to see what our mums and grandmothers are up to as well.........get all that suspicision out.....
  10. Its the responsiblity of Sikhs to tell non-Sikhs the protocol in a Gurdwara. That's not just the committee but all those SIkhs who witnessed this and let it get so far. When a non-Sikh enters the Gurdwara, a Sikh (thats not just the committee) should be there to help him/her and give them some guidance. Most SIkhs just ignore them and let them make mistakes and then demand an apology from them afterwards.
  11. Jo Bholay So Nihaal...Sat Sri Akaaal!
  12. Well its good enough for me and my family!
  13. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Dhan Dhan Sikh Channel Walay! Dhan Dhan Sponsorship Dhen Walay! Without them my family would be wasting their time watching some poor zee tv drama. Now we look forward to what keertan or kathas on every evening.
  14. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Many thanks to the Sikh Channel for feeding this back to Sangat. Dhan Guru Dhan Guru Pyaray!

    Re:

VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Dearest Jujhar Singh Naamdhari, Arent chamars and dalits served langer in seperate hall at your naamdhari HQ Bhani sahib so they dont mix and pollute naamdharis? Whats your view on that?
  16. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Just like our Gurdwaras, perhaps the SIkh Channel is attempting to follow the Maata below. http://www.sikhsangat.com/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=227318 A HUKUMNAMA REGARDING NAAMDHARI and other DEHDHARI Groups. Maata No: 13, passed by 5 Singh Sahibaan on 24th October 2000 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Amritsar, Punjab. In relation to Namdharis and Kirtan in Gurdwara Sahibs, 5 Singh Sahibaan agreed that those who do not believe in the 10 Gurus and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji as their salvation, and instead believe in Dehdhari Gurus and Devi Devte cannot be permitted to do Kirtan in Gurdwara Sahibs. Jatherdar Joginder Singh Vendanti
  17. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! How do you know none of the above are Mahapurshs?
  18. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! There are some major differences withing the panth regarding rehat maryada. However, where there are such fundamental messages such as the Gurgadi of Guru Nanak Devji is occupied by a 15th Guru Jagjit Singh then those messages are ones which the Panth (who believe that Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji was the last dehdhari Guru on this earth) will distance themselves from. It's always the naamdhari's who feel most upset by the statements that they are not part of the Khalsa panth, compared to the other sect who have accepted that they are not following Khalsa panth. Growing up in a well known naamdhari family I personally grew up on tales that the 12th naamdhari Guru, Ram Singh is to return from Russia at the ripe old age of 250 to kick the panths backside and make them realise who the "real" jagat Gurus meant to be. It's all about sharing these tall stories and building followers hopes, so that they feel they are following the right belief.
  19. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! My humble apologies for the tone of my previous posting. I understand your intentions. My only annoyance is that all these texts. emails and posts flying around stating community to WAKE UP are a waste of time and people are switching off from them. There's no productivty sending out a message to WAKE UP and then expecting someone else to sweep up a mess that the sender could sort out himself without patronising others. Sending a text message to your mates doesnt mean any great sewa's being done when there's still no mature constuctive approach to any of our issues.
  20. VaheguruJIKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! The news report is from May 2007. I remember a subsequesn press release from Mars Confectionery came out advising that not all products will use the animal based ingredients. Anyway, Gursikhs should be building label reading in their shopping practices and Gurdwara committees should know what foods they are allowing to be distributed as langar. Most food processed foods will state whether SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS and ALLERGY INFO : CONTAINS EGG or FISH. The communications are clear, it's up to the Gursikh to use his/her intellect when deciding what to eat.
  21. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Absolutely correct. Protests don't achieve as much as real infleuntial pressure does. People need to snap out of the protest culture and start thinking smarter. Protesting worked for stopping the beadbi of Guru Granth sahib ji's saroops at party halls but may not be as effective in other cases. In honesty, the protesting tool may have reached it's sell by date in the community and a new medium to communicate the messages needs to be found. We are still struggling to get the correct media attention and that still needs to be worked on. There are weak links with the politically influential, again something we have not built up, It's time to mature up and not let the immature ones take the lead. No offence. My friend, wake up. A protest like the one i am talking about, is the real influential pressure we need. I'm not saying stop the emails and phone calls to the people in charge either. All I'm saying is that we need something huge like a professional protest in westminster to take it to the next level. Thats how we are going to the media attention we need. I am talking about a properly organised protest you know. The one taking place on sunday is not going to achieve much because its in the middle of no where. If we had a proper one outside parliament, it would be worth it. What would compliment it would be to have some speakers aswell. We would be bound to get media attention man. I'm sure theres some members of the sikh community who have contacts in the media. They could then interivew protestors and so on and before you know it, we could be on tv. Wake up people. Please. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Unless this it is clearly communicated to the community why a protest needs to take place then you're looking at a piddly turnout which will not have any impact. We arent a protesting community, we're too suspicous of anyone who wants to be a panthic leader, thats why no one wants to really put themselves forward. If you are that passionate and claim your AWAKE, get off the internet and do what the tamils have done, do a serious of illegal protests outside parliment and be prepared to be arrested. That will get the media attention. Otherwise just keep day dreaming and stop accusing others of being asleep when your too lazy to implement your own idea.

  23. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Have a nice day too veerji. Dhan Dhan Sachay Patshai Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
  24. VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Thank you. That is the point I was trying to get across too. The parcharak wore his Naamdhari bana openly and maybe panthified his dastaar and verbally said the Fateh of the panth. Underlying issue is that if the Sikh Channel is not careful the digital tv platform will be used for building peoples public profiles which can then be used to get their foot in the door within other panthic arenas.
  25. be open minded, you're acting the same way SGPC acted when they kicked out the Muslim Rababi's of Amritsar, their kirtan was truly amazing... Yet as they were not 'baptised' sikhs they were banned. Even though these same people's ancestors were performing kirtan in from of our Dehdhari Guru's (Guru Nanak dev sahib to Guru Gobind Singh Sahib before you get any other idea's) I'm just showing you the other side of the coin, obviously you don't like it... it's ok, it's not for every one. At least look in to it or research it, may make some of your misconceptions clearer. Thanks VaheguruJiKaKhalsaVaheguruJiKiFateh! Jujhar Singh, Do you believe that the current leader of the naamdharis Guru Jagjit Singh is the 15th jyot of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj because the naamdhari's certainly do? Do you believe that Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj hid in the gupt roop of ajaipal singh for another 150 years after 1708 and then passed the guruship to Guru Balak Singh? Do you believe that Guru Gobind Singh did not allow women to take amrit and it was Guru Ram Singh who first gave amrit to women? Maybe you can answer the above points as these are some of the distored facts that naamdharis put forward and the reason I have so much familiarity with this is because I was born into a family in which my great grandfather and grandfather were prominant naamdharis. That's another chapter, back to the point. There needs to be very careful consideration by the Sikh Channel on who they wish to put forward as parcharaks.
