  1. What about Love.... If someone truly loves, then they dont care about the gender, form, shape, caste, creed, culture, religion, la la la of the person/people that they love. They just love them, however they are... without judgements, without limits and barriers and conditions. I want to emphasize that Im not talking about lust here. I think, any relationship gay or straight that is based on lust, is not what Sikhism subscribes to. Therefore I'm talking about love. I'm sure many would agree that the best partnership someone could have, is with someone that they love. In this way both can grow spiritually together, have full trust in one another, be best friends as well as perhaps lovers (note: lovers is different than lusters for a reason). If someone ends up falling in love with someone of the same sex, I dont see the harm with it, as long as its not about lust. If the focus is spiritual, then let it be... let things happen as Guru Ji makes them happen (Know this well, He himself is all).
  2. DHANAASAREE, FIFTH MEHL: He alone is called a warrior, who is attached to the Lord?s Love in this age. Through the Perfect True Guru, he conquers his own soul, and then everything comes under his control. || 1 || Sing the Praises of the Lord and Master, with the love of your soul. Those who seek His Sanctuary, and meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord, are blended with the Lord in celestial peace. || 1 || Pause || The feet of the Lord?s humble servant abide in my heart; with them, my body is made pure. O treasure of mercy, please bless Nanak with the dust of the feet of Your humble servants; this alone brings peace. || 2 || 4 || 35 || Wednesday 24 Chayt (Samvat 537 Nanakshahi) (Page: 679)
  3. Something i forgot to add there... The human race wont cease to exist because there are some homosexuals. The human race would however cease to exist if there are too many humans on earth that there arnt enough food and stuff for all of them.
  4. Just a thought, a question, an exploration... of sorts: Could we assume, 'hypothetically' that (maybe) humans went contrary to nature by: a- Overly reproducing (taking over...) b- Becoming so defensive (its understandable) over our self-preservation, that we have caused most of our natural enemies to either cease to exist, are going under extinction, cures to diseases with vaccines and whatnot... c- With urbanization, and technology stuff... have killed entire forests all over the world, animals are scarce and kept herded and used like slaves in some parts of the world... la la la That... these types of factors have lead to a huge imbalance in the Earth's homeostatic state. If this is True... then according to the first quote above, Mother Nature, will do as it sees fit to regain a natural balance (a 'slap in the face'). If so, what are things mother nature could do? a- Create more diseases that will spread easily and are uncurable at the moment, or make older ones stronger super-viruses. b- Natural Disasters like Tsunamis, Tornados, Starvation out of lack of crops and whatnot, volcanos, la la c- Create humans who have no wish to reproduce, or cant, or are homosexual... ITS not that they are lower, Not at all! All is equal. It is not that they are better or worse or anything! But just another peice of the puzzle that makes Mother Nature go about her Job... That do you think.... ?
  5. SOOHEE, FIFTH MEHL: Your life is slipping away, but you never even notice. You are constantly entangled in false attachments and conflicts. || 1 || Meditate, vibrate constantly, day and night, on the Lord. You shall be victorious in this priceless human life, in the Protection of the Lords Sanctuary. || 1 || Pause || You eagerly commit sins and practice corruption, but you do not enshrine the jewel of the Lords Name within your heart, even for an instant. || 2 || Feeding and pampering your body, your life is passing away, but you do not experience the state of victory of the Lord of the Universe. || 3 || So enter the Sanctuary of the All-powerful, Unfathomable Lord and Master. O God, O Searcher of hearts, please, save Nanak! || 4 || 27 || 33 || Sunday 21 Chayt (Samvat 537 Nanakshahi) (Page: 743)
  6. SSA~ I am a GORI. I have a KARRA. I learned about sikhism 10 months ago. I consider myself Sikh, Im not amritdhari yet, but I'm a learner, and I respect and try to follow the path as closely as possible. Wearing the Karra has strengthened my Reminder, to read Banis, to not straigh from the path. I have noticed some people wear a bracelette for fashion. They have no idea - its not their fault. God is the Doer of all things. All by his will. Only some will come to understand, those whom He brings closer to him. Also - when you come right down to it, these type of topics are just maya again. No clothes, karra or kesh anything will go along with you when you die... So, lets focus on the inside - thats what matters. But you know, also being truth to yourself and your faith. "Actions repeated over and over again are engraved on the soul. We shall reap what we sow. " - Jaap Ji Sahib Ji
  7. Hi, i speak french... fluently. I live in Quebec. I'll see what i can do, but i think it will take more than just me.
  8. KUMI - READ JAAP SAHIB. you'll find answers there... actually, even if you take the time to read the Mool Mantra... you'll have an/the answer there too...
  9. JAITSREE, FOURTH MEHL: The Lords Name does not abide within their hearts their mothers should have been sterile. These bodies wander around, forlorn and abandoned, without the Name; their lives waste away, and they die, crying out in pain. || 1 || O my mind, chant the Name of the Lord, the Lord within you. The Merciful Lord God, Har, Har, has showered me with His Mercy; the Guru has imparted spiritual wisdom to me, and my mind has been instructed. || Pause || In this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Kirtan of the Lords Praise brings the most noble and exalted status; the Lord is found through the True Guru. I am a sacrifice to my True Guru, who has revealed the Lords hidden Name to me. || 2 || By great good fortune, I obtained the Blessed Vision of the Darshan of the Holy; it removes all stains of sin. I have found the True Guru, the great, all-knowing King; He has shared with me the many Glorious Virtues of the Lord. || 3 || Those, unto whom the Lord, the Life of the world, has shown Mercy, enshrine Him within their hearts, and cherish Him in their minds. The Righteous Judge of Dharma, in the Court of the Lord, has torn up my papers; servant Nanaks account has been settled. || 4 || 5 || Saturday 20 Chayt (Samvat 537 Nanakshahi) (Page : 697)
  10. Wow! Thats reallly a nice video and song!!!!!!!!!! <_<  Awesome!!!! Are there more song videos somewhere like this?
  11. What to be done? Gently, and nicely, and even without shouting or bitterness... Bring awareness around you... about rehat, about real sikhism, about the lifestyles of the pure ones. Play some kirtan, be an example of a good gursikh, inspire others around you...
  12. SHALOK, THIRD MEHL: The love of Maya is enticing; without teeth, it has eaten up the world. The self-willed manmukhs are eaten away, while the Gurmukhs are saved; they focus their consciousness on the True Name. Without the Name, the world wanders around insane; the Gurmukhs come to see this. Involved in worldly affairs, he wastes his life in vain; the peace-giving Lord does not come to abide in his mind. O Nanak, they alone obtain the Name, who have such pre-ordained destiny. || 1 || THIRD MEHL: The home within is filled with Ambrosial Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not get to taste it. He is like the deer, who does not recognize its own musk-scent; it wanders around, deluded by doubt. The manmukh forsakes the Ambrosial Nectar, and instead gathers poison; the Creator Himself has fooled him. How rare are the Gurmukhs, who obtain this understanding; they behold the Lord God within themselves. Their minds and bodies are cooled and soothed, and their tongues enjoy the sublime taste of the Lord. Through the Word of the Shabad, the Name wells up; through the Shabad, we are united in the Lords Union. Without the Shabad, the whole world is insane, and it loses its life in vain. The Shabad alone is Ambrosial Nectar; O Nanak, the Gurmukhs obtain it. || 2 || PAUREE: The Lord God is inaccessible; tell me, how can we find Him? He has no form or feature, and He cannot be seen; tell me, how can we meditate on Him? The Lord is formless, immaculate and inaccessible; which of His Virtues should we speak of and sing? They alone walk on the Lords Path, whom the Lord Himself instructs. The Perfect Guru has revealed Him to me; serving the Guru, He is found. || 4 || Friday 19 Chayt (Samvat 537 Nanakshahi) (Page: 643)
  13. This is very interesting!!! I have seen people who say... God is everything, god is all... all you need is God and remember him. And yet, they go around searhcing for answers and cures, in other places... Dispite knowing, they are still compelled to search for things that may help them in the physical realm... or "tricks" for the other worlds... ah... lol! Maybe it is deeper unbreakable pure love and faith , that needs to well up before becoming detached from other means of self-preservation...
  14. I understand that it may be frustrating to see people who have the appearance, and took amrit, but who do not keep rehat... But, it is not up to us to judge. It would be worse of us to take away their own rights... We should not think anyone to be higher or lower, but even better would to see our own self as the lowest... then not judge anyone as lower than us... Remember, that only by his grace, some will follow the path, and also by his own command, others wander around aimlessly. No one is above his command.
  15. Hmm! This would mean that those who 'say' they have faith, might not really know the depths that their faith can grow to... Well, I agree... If we truly 150% or Infinite% have faith... we loose ourselves into our faith, no more self, no more desires or fears or pain or anything... only that which you put faith into comes to Be. Holding faith that we exist, physically and whatever ways, that are "separate" from The Guru... makes that we are separate. But true Faith can not come by mere knowing, or by tricks, or even desire! It just comes... eventually, out of real pure love for the Guru. Then... that is faith. yeah? :TH:
  16. SSA~~ Interesting Topic. I have a few things to say... ___________ Muslim guys are not only after sikh girls. They are after 'christians' and any others too, especially the undecided people (people who wernt born in a religion, or donno what they beleive). They like whites, and they like whoever they can convert into "good muslim girl, with the veil on the head and the pregnant with his child"... I also know, there are those who do those moves so they can gain a citezinship in whichever country, like Canada... (sneaky guys... especially the morocains I've heard). I've also heard about girls being tricked to go to countries and become whores. Its all sad stories. There are bad people everywhere. You could say that the States are just as bad for trying to impose their culture on others too... And those who follow, it's like sheep... blindly following, to fall off some cliff or something. ____________ On another note... I dont think it is bad to date/Marry someone you love. If the love is true. If it's true, then the person wont care what eachother's faiths are, as long as they are both being fully respected and understood by the other, that no conversions will take place. But, of course it is always preferable to be with someone of the same faith. ____________ I'm sure you are all familiar with the event that happenned 2-3 years back in Vancouver BC, Canada. A sikh girl was dating a white non-sikh. Apparently they were deeply in love. However the parents of the girl were sooo fanatical, and didnt care about her happiness, or even really about her... That her Own Father -- KiILLED her himself! He killed her so violently after she refused to break-up with this guy whom she loved. People, there are limits to how far one should go to stop multi-faith relationships.!!! I pray that nothing so atrocious, would happen again... !!!! ____________ Ok ok, well onto another note here... while i'm at it... blabbering on... I know of a white girl who is with a sikh guy. They are in love, and she is really into sikhi now. Well, that's not a bad thing!!! She would have never found out about sikhi if it werent for him... Guru Ji's will, you know... So... just cause the girl or guy wasnt born sikh, doesnt mean he/she is an untouchable. Some things happen for a reason. Like falling in love~ ____________ And well... deep down, when we really get to it... even tho some things seem terrible, in a way its all His Will... though we might not like it. Hmm, Karma or something... (?) we can never know... Thats my 2 cents. :TH: lol
  17. About Hair - I have a few points of observation, so expect contradictions as i reason this out. I can understand those who say there are more important things than keeping hair - the inside is most important. Example: If someone has cancer and needs chemotherapy and their hair falls out, is it better that they decline the treatement...? no! Also keep in mind; when we die our hair will no longer be with us. Keeping hair also does not automatically constitute that someone is a good sikh. Many sikhs can keep their outer appearances to be "sikh" (the 5 k's) for as long as they like... but if their actions and conduct is not sikhi then, they are not real sikhs no matter how much they may pretend. So - that is just to say, that inner (faith, devotion, humility, sharing) is more important than outer. However, I do agree that keeping hair is important, when you have the choice to keep it, then do so. There are many reasons for this. 1- Guru Ji said so. If He said so, there must be good reasons to this. Some reasons may be beyond our comprehension, but if He said so - we, as respectful, humble, servants and believers; should listen and follow his command. Walk in the way of His will. Even if we dont understand why, have faith that there are good reasons. 2- It is a daily reminder of our faith, path, devotion and ultimate goal. It is a daily reminder of who we represent and how our conduct should be to reflect what we represent. 3- It is a way to be humble: accept what Guru Ji asks of you, accept it with love and humility. No matter the gendre, or culture you are living in. If you live in an area where no one else keeps their hair, accept that they may ridicule you, accept that you look different, accept that you may not fit in as easily. Stay humble, know that you are walking in the way of His will. 4- If you cut your hair for fashion reasons, for attraction, for outer perception, or to fit in... you are playing with the game of Maya. (At your own risk!) Hmm, i could probably think of other reasons, but i'm good for now. <_< ~Ambrosia~
  18. Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh Reading these various arguments, the mind is filled with philsophical mumbo-jumbo. Interesting, none-the-less... Warning: I am not taking sides, I am exploring possibilities in the intellectual realm. In the Gurbani it says Guru is everything. Guru speaks through all. Guru is All, and Guru is One. The implications of this... is that there are aspects (various aspects of the Guru... ie: people, etc etc) that realize they are one with God, and there are who who Dont realize they are one with God. Those who dont realize and remember, suffer in pain. BUT - this does not change the (dare i say) Maxim, that Guru is everything. Therefore... everything is Good, what pleases his will comes to pass. If people suffer, it is his will, if people are in bliss it is his will. If there are Guru's it is his will, if there are fake Guru's it is his will. He himself does all. Nothing comes to pass that is not his will. And his will is sweet. ~~~
