  1. they are people wearing nice bright colored punjabi suits and paghs
  2. a lil bit like the eating food part and giving some late boxing day gifts if i feel like it but a lot of the christmas stuff is just gay.
  3. as if theres not enough closed mindedness here already :ugh:
  4. nice i especially liked this one for some reason. maybe it had to do with the story behind it
  5. i think this was my fave pic the calmness is beautiful this one's cute too
  6. no i didnt say it feels like your bowing to money but I just don't like the idea of including money which is a worldy material thing because at the gurdwara I like to think of a heavenly place without a need of money. and money to me more represents the fake world buuut its true there are a lot worse distractions that go on at gurdwaras too like the "show offs" in the sangat. well it was just a thought that maybe the golak could be moved and still be as noticed and function (maybe even more if theres eyecatching posters explaining lil facts about how much the money helps)
  7. In all the commotion of the labour, that's the last thing you will be thinking about! yea thats why u tell em ahead of time :i:
  8. i just heard in the news it would be very good to wait 2 minutes after u give birth before you cut the umbilical cord instead of doin it right away like they always have. this would get more blood etc through to the baby so it'll turn out better and smarter. lol i wish my mom did that for me too
  9. Because the full focus should be on praying and showing respect to the Guru Granth Sahib, not on giving money to the gurdwara as well
  10. I think it would make more sense to make contributions to the gurdwara somewhere else (such as by the entry of the prayer hall with eyecatching posters explaining lil facts about how much the money helps) instead in front of the Guru Granth Sahib. Can someone please explain why I am wrong? I just don't like the idea of including money which is a worldy material thing because at the gurdwara I like to think of a heavenly place without a need of money. and money to me more represents the fake world buuut its true there are a lot worse distractions that go on at gurdwaras too like the "show offs" in the sangat.
  11. well he accepted her vow before marriage so stop insulting her. nowadays having a beard and turban hardly even mean anything. there are so many "gianis gone bad" out there and so many GOOD monas too. it was just her preference. I personally find full beards are telling me "dont touch me" because to me it just represents sikhism is against any lust. blaaah my opinion about this whole thing feels kinda messed thats why im hesitating to help on this one
  12. are you the unhappy girl by any chance :D nope. im still young and never had a bf
  13. hmmmm overall i dont like these answers and i'm thinking i should tell him to shave because i dont like to see the girl unhappy. she said he could grow it in 5 years anyway so it's pretty fair
  14. i'm sure theyve tried talking about it several times over the last 8 months. I agree her love should be strong enough to accept him in any way he looks and not being comfortable in public might be weak but it might be that she doesnt believe in keeping it for other reasons.
  15. I think this issue is very difficult I dont know if anyone can think of a good answer. I see people are being disrespectful towards her but thats not helping. She is right in a way because she had that simple condition BEFORE marriage. I already thought maybe we could change her mind somehow but i dont see how. she is quite stubborn.
  16. When my friend was 24 he shaved his beard because his uncles in canada pushed him to do so in order to get a job etc. A few months later he got married to a girl who told him her conditions for marriage were that she wants a guy that doesnt drink and doesnt have a turban. Now in his heart he wants beard & turban he feels incomplete without it as a sikh and feels the time is right now. he's been growing his beard for 8 months and his wife's been complaining saying she's uncomfortable travelling with him etc. The rest of his family including his in-laws has turbans but she is totally against it. They have a kid about 3 yrs old and he wants to set a good example. How can he get peace in his house and also keep his hair????
  17. yea thats wrong hope someone let the directors know about that. not enough ignorant white people know the difference between hindus and sikhs but actually the difference isnt as important as just being respectful to anyone. there is still A LOT of racism but everyone gets called "HINDU". white people that do this do deserve to be knocked out or something.
