  1. We are Sikhs, Singh, not baamans worried about ritual pollution. K. Lets not try to change the direction of this thread. Im asking if its ok for people who cut their Kes. According to you its ok. Does that mean we can eat from people who smoke, cheat on their wives, steal, do not live a life of Naam-contemplation. Dont you understand that what you put in your body has a major impact on your Bhagti. If the food put in your body is not blessed by Guru Ji then surely your body and Bhagti will be effected.According to Gian Gurbachan SIngh Ji the people who have cut their Kes have greatly displeased Guru Ji and his Hukum how can there food be blessed? jwkI rhiq n jwxIAY gurmMqR nhI cIq[ aunkw Bojn KwiekY ibsrih hir isau pRIq[ One who has no rehit And does not meditate on the Gurmantar; If you eat his food, You will loose the love for God. (Rehitnama) Bhai Chaupa Singh Ji Singh Ji just wondering how strong is your rehat. I dont think its write to be questioning a rehatnama which was written by an AmritDhari Gursikh who was in close assoication with Dasmesh Pita Ji.
  2. Can someone help me understand this. I mean I get the actual shabad (theres translations), but is this shabad a warning of what could happen, or is it that I've done too much wrong that I won't "obtain liberation"? I take this Shabad as a major blessing by Guru Sahib. In this Shabad Guru Ji is saying in the womb you were deep in meditation not effected by the maya of the world similarily to the Gurmukhs who are not effect by Maya. Then Guru Ji is saying how Maya has made you blind to your original origins of true bliss. Guru Ji is giving you a wake up call to reality to wake up to your true roots as Gurmukh. Guru Ji is also informing/enlightening you about the ways/path of the Manmukh. I remember Baba Waryam Singh explaing Gurbani in which there was a pangti about two birds. One of the birds in unstable he flocks from place to place enjoying worldly ras this birds is a complete Manmukh. While the other Gurmukh like bird who is disciplined, controls his passions, lives internally and enjoys the Amrit Ras.
  3. Veer Ji things take time. Taking Amrit, and becoming a Gursikh does not make you perfect. Taking Amrit is the first and main step in battling the Panj Doot. The Amrit and Rehat given during Initiation help us in always staying close to Guru Ji. Through the maintenace of Amrit, and devotion/obidience to Rehat help keep a strong with Guru Ji who is the emobidment of Amrit. Boredom comes when the Amrit covered up with worldliness. Thus it is critical that one does as much Amrit Vela, Nitnem, Naam Simran, Sadh Sangat, Seva, etc as possible to keep Amirt alive, fresh and intact, and believe me the Panj Doot are going to do everything to keep you away from Gurus Amrit. The Naam/Gurmantar helps us battle these doots. The Naam given by Guru Sahib never goes to waste its a precious commodity in which can never be exhaused. Some people make the excuse that I do Naam Simran and I feel no benefit. This panj doot driven attitude encourage the devotee to give up all together on Naam Simran. Naam Simran never goes to waste, even if you not reaping automaic benefits/bliss. Naam has a mystical effect. The human body is built to serve as a storagehouse for Naam. The more Naam Simran we do the more naam builds up in this storagehouse. This built up naam will always keep us in Guru Jis sharan. It is through life struggles that this build up Naam which is the embodiment of Guru Ji will help us in our struggles. I only request that when given naam by Guru Ji please do not treat as a cheap commodity the same way I did. We should use ( doing Naam Simran) is as much as possible with himmat and great force. gur syvw jug cwry hoeI ] gur saevaa jug chaarae hoee || The Guru's service has been performed throughout the four ages. pUrw jnu kwr kmwvY koeI ] pooraa jan kaar kamaavai koee || Very few are those perfect ones who do this good deed. 4. Wow what a great article. Proof that God intended for us to be Vegitarians.
  5. "Bin Kesa Sir Kutean " what part of Sri Dasam Granth is this in. Was writings you posted written by Giani Gurbachan SIngh Ji? Also, if cutting Kes is a great misdeed is it advisable to eat food from those who disrespect their kes?
  6. If a person from a non- SIkh background cuts their Kes does this mean that they cannot be reborn into a Human body? I have heard that if a person does good deeds but has no Naam then they will still be a given another chance in the human body? What if a person took Amrit and he/she did not know anything about taking Amrit and cut their Kes does this still apply. What about those that dont take amrit but take Chugli and cut their Kes does this apply to.
  7. I dont understand why there is so much Islamphobia . Whats the big deal? There are perhaps 1 billion muslims in the world. Out this billion maybe less than 10 % of the Muslim population can be considered proper Muslims as they properly follow the teachings of Islam, and Im not talking about the <Edited> like Muslims. Im talking about the God fearing, Humanity Loving, Family orientated, Ehtical abiding Muslims. I definently believe the <Edited> Islam which is rising is a major problem which needs to be confronted by the world. But this Islamicphobia has no place in Sikhi. Its the Christians who started this phobia/anxiety, because like many Muslims they believe everyone should be part of their religion. These worried Christians feel like they are losing the battle. Us Sikhs do not care about converting the whole world, so why are we worried and why are we so Islamphobic. In regards to Sikh Conversions. In the first place most of these people were never Sikhs they never understood what they had, and that is mainly the Sikh communitys fault for not making an effort to educate them. If people want to chose a Religion which is based on a set of rigid rules that were intented for people who onced belonged to a Paganistic culture then thats fine. Sikhi/Gurmat is the food for the soul; this soul which has been sepereated from God for many life times. Eventually if these converts want to escape the suffering of Lakh Charasi they will have to take refuge in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj.
  8. Maybe if someone from the Gurdwara tried to help this person when he was sick he would have not turned to Christianity. We keep blaming Christians and Muslims for conversions yet we have not gone out of our way to help our brothers and sisters who are unaware or are strayed from the Sikh path.

  10. Do you have personal writing or recordings of Baba Ji saying this. Veer Ji you need to be aware of making up rumors of a true Gursevak. 12. I think Sant Ji went there because he was informed that the Government was planning to attack Harmandir Sahib. Years before 84 the government set up Harmandir Sahib replicas in distance places and try to plot a plan to attack and destroy Harmandir Sahib, Sikh Histroy and Sikh heritage. Fanatics who were part of the Goverment knew that Sikhi was a threat to Hindu Nationalism thus they want to completely take Sikhi out of India.

  14. I wouldnt probably last a day without food, but that me own weakness because of my poor spiritual life. But how do you think people like Baba Deep Singh fought with their head off, How did small Bachitar Singh fight a gigantic elephant? All this power comes from Guru Jis blessing. Similarly Dharm Yudhs were fought and Sikhs were victorious despite being will numbered. Guru Ji can put a person in so much Bir ras that they dont even think about food and water when fighting. Bir Ras has alot of power/energy.
  15. Fateh! I recall hearing somewhere that Singhs who were suffering from thirst while in battle would chatka a dusht and drink his blood then continue to fight without having to go back to camp to get refreshments. Khafi Khan in his book Muntakhabul-Lubab describes how some Sikhs in Bhanda Bahadur's time may have had to eat flesh from their own limbs to survive a siege. At the end of the day, if you are in dharam yudh, you do whatever it takes to continue the fight. If it means eating a roast Mughal for breakfast, so be it. K. I dont think we should be relying on Muslims to narrarate our great histroy as they have no knowledge of the mysteries of Gurmat Naam. There was no reason to eat meat for Singhs living in the Jungle as they were of a High Vasta. They lived off of internal Amrit. Even Mahapurushs from the last century demonstrated that this is possible. For example Baba Harnam SIngh Ji lived without food for 40 days as he took sustenace from internal Amrit which is stored in Navel area. I think Baba Attar Singh Ji did not eat food for a year when he was on his Gurmat Parchar travels. SInghs in the jungles were also MahaPurush because they offerered everything to Guru Ji there wealth, body, mind, soul, etc. They lived off this internal Amrit. In fact, it was this internal Amrit that made them brAVE WARRIORS. This will never please Guru Gobind SIngh Ji Maharaj, as Guru Sahib was strongly against the whole concept of caste.
