MokhamSingh replied to DhanDhan's topic in GURBANI | SAKHIAN | HISTORY
I was told by a prominent Gursikh to do at least one Chaupai Sahib the Paat, while sitting on the bed, before going to sleep. He also said, to have a glass of water to hand. Up on completion of the Paat, then drink the water... Waheguru... -

When I was younger, I had no idea who Sant Ishtar Ji was. One day I saw a beautiful oil painting of Sant Ji. I couldn’t help but to keep staring at it. That night, I had a dream, where Sant Ji told me to tell my father to stop his alcohol business. I didn’t say anything to my father, because he was a very strong character, and we were all <banned word filter activated> scared of him. A few days later, my father announced that he was going to retire from the alcohol business. All this happened without my father knowing about the dream...

When we read Gurbani...that’s us talking to Waheguru. When we chant ‘Waheguru’, with closed eyes...that’s him talking to us. Waheguru...

Ghokal Chand Narang writes: The founder of the Bhangi Misl, Chajja Singh, lived in a village near Amritsar. Chajja Singh took Khandey di pauhal from Banda Singh Bhadur. Now, if Banda Singh hadn’t taken Amrit himself, how could he been in the Panj pyare, to give Amrit? Chajja Singh was a mighty warrior! There are some adulterations to this Granth. The British adulterated the Sau Sakhi, in order to break the Khalsa spirit. The biggest bench mark that we have, is SGGS. Any historical event that does not conform to Gurbani, is contentious!

MokhamSingh replied to shastarSingh's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
Books by Raghbir Singh Bir are really amazing. Ardas Shakti. Chardi Kala. Sarb Rog Ka Aukhad Naam. If you do a google search, they might be available in English. There is a beautiful audio narration of his books too, in Punjabi though... -
can anyone explain meaning of 31st vaar 9th pauri
MokhamSingh replied to shastarSingh's topic in WHAT'S HAPPENING?
This vaar is talking about those who sinned, but were forgiven. The essence of this vaar is telling us not to commit sins, and assume automatically that we’ll be forgiven. Committing sins in ignorance is one thing. Committing sins, whilst being fully aware, is something more serious.... -
The Sidhs wanted to win Guru Nanak. They asked Guru Ji to fetch some water from the stream. Now, with the powers of sidhi, the sidhs made the stream look as if it was full of diamonds and gems. Maharaj returned, and told them there was no water there. The sidhs were shocked, as to how anyone could reject these precious items. The sidhs did everything in their power to win Maharaj over, but they could not succeed. The sidhs used their powers to fly around in the skies. Maharaj removed his kadam (shoe), which flew into the air by itself. When the kadam hit the sidhs on the head, they fell tumbling down onto the ground. The sidhs realised that they weren’t dealing with an ordinary person...
