  1. That’s Bhai Jasbir Singh Paonta Sahib wale.
  2. Do you do Simran or Mool Mantar? Don’t worry about this. As children we have all sorts of dreams which when we are younger have more of an impact on us remembering them. Because that was probably the first odd or chilling dream you had, so you remember it more. You have to stop being afraid of this, as I’m guessing you work yourself up and get anxious every year before that date. Even if you try not to, it still comes up as it’s been embedded for a long time. Tell your counsellor about this, he/she will help you to deal with the negativity of it that it has created. You are going through a stressful time, but from what you are saying, he is not living with you. You need to make yourself strong internally and stand up to what he’s done. You need to think about yourself and your daughter and what’s best for you both, as he’s already left. Your in laws are probably feeling ashamed for their spoilt son? They do not have to compromise with his bad behaviour and how he’s treated you and your daughter. I’m not sure what else to advise, as you are in this terrible situation, and only you know what you are going through, but I do hope things get better for you. Maybe contact one of the Sikh helplines?
  3. Yes of course, that’s a wise thing to say, and it is the month of Magh. So well done to them for all the seva they did to get the Gurdwara back again. Like I said I can’t judge them, because you can tell they were very humbled on receiving the siropas, but I’ve never seen that many, that’s all.
  4. I’m not one to judge anybody else. But I nearly fell asleep whilst watching this, it was like never ending. ?

@NonExistant Don’t worry, go to the doctor if it doesn’t stop hurting. You don’t want it to be infected, so get it checked out if it’s ongoing.
  6. Lol, I haven’t put it on here as the guy mentions meat in it, so I thought non meat eaters may get offended. But I’ll send you it. Plus, it’s slightly different to how I make it, but the nearest I could find on YouTube.
  7. Check your inbox, I’ve sent a thorka recipe.
  8. Ok, so it’s gone from rotian to daal/sabji to paneer to saag to smoothies to chywanprash to sukha to trolls to goreh to compromise. I wonder if it will go back to thorka again ??
  9. Hmm, broadcast, telecast, forecast? Probably one of them ? Hmm, 123 tha aundi nai hale ?
  10. Yes. Deleted paneer video, as some people may get offended, and then I’ll get told off ? . Good skill you’ve acquired there and you can make it to your requirements. Haalon da kheer ki a? I don’t think I could do all those ingredients in your smoothie. Oh ho, chavanprash, your a proper desi. Baba Ramdev dian v jarrian bootian khanda? ?
  11. Na, ? just went off it few years ago. @MrDoaba, tu chef a? ??
  12. I’m going to try making paneer again, haven’t done it in years, but that’s the best stuff you can do yourself if you got time. Not a kale fan, although the kale mix smoothies suppose to be good. Yep you can’t beat karhi, another simple to cook dish.
  13. Oh yes, my grandma used to do that too. But I’m not a saag fan? palak I don’t mind.
  14. Yep we do that one too. But instead of the jeera powder, I prefer the fresh jeera. Gone off the powder, it has a weird taste. And thania powder aswell, seems different, so fresh thania is best, because at least you’ll know it’s fresh. Chop it up and put in the freezer with the adrak and mircha. But don’t put it in the ice cream dabaa ? Frozen works just as good. Lol golden brown isn’t kacha. Because as you’re cooking the rest of the ingredients by adding them it will carry on cooking. Otherwise it gets quickly burnt after adding the haldi, fer siapa hojanda, if you don’t catch it in time. An-turki lol, new word for the vocabulary. It’s very simple to make and quick too.
  15. By saag do you mean spinach leaves? Neither do we, it’s overdone then. Palak paneer on its own is a good dish. Tamattar ?? Not tried that one yet.
  16. Yes that’s how we have it, but I didn’t know if thorka is ok with it.
  17. Thanks for that info, I always thought it’s heavy for thorka. What’s organic grass fed butter?
  18. I can’t have chillies, but everybody else chillies in theirs. Masalas overload the dish, we put extra ginger instead. It’s not that bland, it’s actually very edible. Plus garlic gives it a kick too. But some in our community think golden brown is raarh ke lol. So end up with charcoal brown ?. When the oil starts forming in it, that’s when it’s ready. Have you ever tried daal without onions? Try yellow daal without thorka, it’s so much better. But mix it with moongi.
  19. Yes I’m thinking of trying the desi gheo again, as my grandmother used to use it. We use extra virgin something or other too but not coconut, that’s rich, but don’t heat for too long. The thing is some people tend to luuh (burn) the thorka, so that ruins the dish. Oh and sprinkle some fresh thania (coriander) at the end or before serving. I’m not sure about the desi gheo, I think it’s a bit heavy, so for those that burn off a lot of calories it should be ok, but in moderation. There was a thread on here last year of desi gheo. I’ll try to find it later.
  20. We do thorka to most sabjis/daals, but don’t use butter, but oil instead and don’t put in all the masalas, etc. Just keep it simple, jeera, ginger, salt n sometimes garlic, tomatoes, tumeric, that’s it. Add some chillies if you want. Yellow daal, don’t do thorka to it and it’s so much healthier and better since we stopped the thorka. Simple is how to keep the nutrients in too.
  21. It maybe that you are kneading it too hard. Try it with softer dough, as the moisture in it will make it puff. Also it’s best to puff it over a flame, normally moving the tawa a bit to the side then placing the roti over the flame slightly with tongs. Also don’t keep turning sides, as only cook one side, then the other slightly, then on flame. Or just on the tawa, but pressing it slightly when on the other side, but not too hard. (Medium temp) If the dough is too soft, then knead it bit harder. Some people put some oil in it. And as @MrDoaba paji has said, it’s all about the thorka. You get the thorka right, then you can make anything ?. ?????
  22. Sorry penji, but I still don’t agree with the statement you made. That comes across as discrimination, writing things like that. You are basing your own opinion on a few Naamdharis. But you clearly wrote they do more Naam jap than Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji believers, and exactly what does that mean? That they don’t believe in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji or that you have belittled those that call Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji their Guru? Because that’s exactly how it reads. Maybe you should have chosen different words to explain what you want to say. I still stand by what I said before, nobody can judge another person’s Naam jap apart from God. We are not God, when we should be working on ourselves, neither are we in any position to say so and so does more Naam jap than other. That’s just so wrong.
  23. Yes that was a pretty stupid statement. How can anybody judge on who japs Naam or not? Where are you getting this nonsense from? Isn't that what you just did above this sentence? ??
