Amar Radio was previously known as Akash Radio before it changed hands in May this year. PTC Punjabi programmes 'Straight Talk', 'The Masters', 'Lokbani' and news bulletins have been airing on Music India UK for the past couple of years but these will be shifted to the main PTC Punjabi UK channel at launch. The channel also holds the exclusive rights for Gurbani live from the Harmandir Sahib in Amritsar. Prior to this, ZEE Network was the sole rights holder and broadcaster for the Gurbani. In the UK, ZEE Punjabi still broadcasts the exclusive coverage but rumour has it that PTC Punjabi is looking at clinching back the Amritsar Gurbani when it launches here next year. The channel will begin running on-air promos for interested parties to take the slot. This news also paves the way for Sikh Channel to compete directly with just one rival, Sikh TV. We must use their own procedures against them and complain to Ofcom and under the Freedom of Information Act ask masses of direct questions regarding talk shows, religious air time, cultural programming etc where it shows negativity towards Sikhism. He uses threatening behaviour and instead of teaching with love he teaches with hate. Absolutely disgusting. Please know that I didnt want to have to upload this video, but it seems as though the man in question is very well connected within the gurdwara network in Leeds and as such, nobody would take it seriously otherwise. wjkk wjkf - I really enjoy ALL 3 of our Gurmat channels and love to watch the variety of Gurbani programmes. I especially like the Sikh Channel live from Derby Gurdwara and think we need more of this maybe direct from Punjab? From what I have picked-up from the tv buzz there maybe at least one more Sikh channel launching in UK and Sunrise Tv is looking at expanding with more channels and religion has been cited as being a large part of one of the channels. I am suprised Canada has not launched any Sikhi channels as with WaheGuru ji's Kirpa there is a massive Punjabi population there! But I think online Sikh tv channels will be the future and it won't be long until we have a large selection soon. GurFateh

gurdssingh why are you defending Nihal and the BBC AN so strongly do you then agree with the way the show questions Sikhi without doing any real research or background checks on guests. But as you say they should just rely on people phoning in who will be genuine to the discussion? I don't agree with many things but at work I leave my own opinions at home and do not let them influence my decisions for my clients or I would not have a business. These presenters don't care about your feelings or responses as they are paid to cause conflict or heated discussion as that makes a good talk show ie Jerry Springer! Kaljugi by expressing yourself here on the forum you are doing more than most who do nothing at all - you will always have the Guru's support if your heart is defending Sikhi

I have as yet to hear anything negative on the BBC AN re Islam they are either very luke warm in their questioning or conduct it in such a way that the listeners are guided to think more positive about muslims. The muslim community have strength both in number and unity it is easy to target a minority in a minority where if there are UK born Sikh listeners they are mostly very unclear about their own religion and find it difficult to argue their point. Best thing we all can do is invest in Sikhi education or soon it will be only a few like us that will try and defend the faith.

Everytime I switch on this rubbish station BBC Asian Network is mocking or talking down Sikhism. These half baked presenters who have no knowledge of real culture or religion but seem to think they are scholars just because they have brown skin shock me regularly with their air head conversations. UK is the only country in the world where I am forced by law to pay for a licence for the BBC where I will be ridiculed for my religion in their cheap filler space talk shows on Asian Network? This was the station where a muslim guest called Guru Nanak "Satan" and last week a hindu spokesman from the aviation authoriy said Sikhs should not mind having their turbans patted down at the airport? Then they talked about the "kara school girl" should she be waisting school funds in courts cases and about sikh girls not fancying men with beards. I don't care if any of the BBC trouble makers read this as they clearly DON'T care about the feelings of the Guru Khalsa Panth. GurFateh
