  1. "Faith means not wanting to know what is true" Famous words of Friedrich Nietzsche from the book "The Antichrist". The German guy who was in opposition of Christianity, has the same nr of opponents as followers. Do you agree, if not? Please support your oppinon. Please take care GurFateh
  2. GurFateh Please read the following quote. It's not an article, so there might be some gaps in between the text. Please take care. Apologies! Satnaam sri Waheguru!
  3. Nice explanation. Ppl greet by saying GurFateh, SSA, Satnaam or Wjkk Wjkf... so many different ways. Can u plz give me a similar story of the origion of sat sri akal. Never knew that ppl greeted each other by saying that, before I entered this forum. But ppl tend to rush the greeting coz its long, its sweet when a person says it slowely.
  4. Ok so hereby i announce that this is a crappy article! Notice this article is given under Jokes! Source: http://www.streeck.com/jokes/jokes.4.html Propaganda! You just prooved my point above! MEN!! Peace!
  5. Fateh! Nice description of a woman. And mean of u guys to believe it! Plz tell me that this is a joke? Lately, it's been scientifically approved that men have a bigger brain than women. However I seriously cant figure out where u guys use it!? Think u just need extra capacity to be at the same level as women.

Try to relate this quote to ur situation, virji. Maybe it will solve a tiny bit of ur question (be aware that the response is given to a beginner). Hope u find it useful. Part of an email convo about some models: There's more to it, if u want it?

  8. GuruFateh ji Pretty new at this and almost similar story... Just not the tweezer part and ur mom. Educate her... if ur tough throw her tweezer away when she does that, or better just ignore her. Just believe in what ur doing! But seriously can't describe it better than this: Guru Tegh Bahadur ji says: Like a dog`s tail, which will never straighten out, the mind will not change, no matter how many things are tried. Like a dog`s tail, it cannot be straightened; it will not listen to what I tell it. But it's easy, believe in it and be proud of being Guru ji's KAUR!! Im serious, look at all these GurSikh men, they must be having a much more difficult time than us girls! For us... just take it as the moustache is like some make-up God has put on our face, which we dont even need to remove, how easy could it get. It's natural beauty... I thought it would be difficult, but it's soo much easy if u really wanna do it! Same thing with becomming a veggie, even while living in such conditions! He loves u, u should show him that u also love him by obeying his Hukam. Its like a husbands/wife's relationship. This is my recent experiences: Very close relative: "Arhh Atleast u can bleach it". Once I wore a chunni like a dastaar for fun and this relative's like what are u doing? Uv gone made. And my uncle laughingly said: "I'll kill ya, if u gonna wear it".. Best friend: "U look ugly now, atleast bleach it. Eww u will get a unibrow soon... Aw now u can't do any sports or party"! Friend (guy): "New trend of looking like me (a man)". Cousin: "Right ppl have to try stuff, and eventually they get back to their old routine"! Brother: "Eww thats hair on ur upperlips". And Im like... Yehiii I look like a Sikhniii now... Guru ji's Kaur! Actually because of these ppl I get more courage not to wax coz they say "some day u'll get rid of it". Right! Guru ji will prove them wrong. I just wish for a bad summer! Just take every task as an easy task, and ull get past this stage. Once ur past it, no one can stop u, Guru ji is with ya! From GGSJ: "If u take one step, He will take millions towards you". From personal experience, its soo true. And I guess thr's no compromise! Stay Strong! Keep connected to this Sangat, they are so Chadi Kala ppl!! Sorry for the bad English! -dustofurfeet
  9. Satnaam Sri Waheguru Dearest SatSangat, please share ur knowledge. And if any others also have some (minor) questions related to Bani, plz post (just remember to continue with the question nr.). (PS. plz forgive this dust for any mistakes as such ) Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh --------------------------------- Source: http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=1790 1. It says 10 months, but generally a child is born after 9 months. Reason: one month less or more dosn't matter. Or please help me out on this one... ?? ** http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=1787 2. What are the Simritees?? ** http://www.sikhitothemax.com/page.asp?ShabadID=1787 3. I undestand the metaphor, but which/(who's) Philosopher's Stone is Kabeer ji referring to? ** 4. Iv tried to do a search on how Bani describes the relationship between brothers and sisters. But now I'd also like to ask the Sangat... Plz share any shabad' links.
  10. But if they don't consider Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji as the last Guru ji, it wouldn't matter to them what GurBaani says... or?? Plz enlighten...
  11. Sad to see that ur in this situation. Moving away from your parents is not a good idea for any part. Its better to elope... naihh kidding! Maybe u should wait for a while, carrying the Kirpan, and educate her (be that 2 months, 5, 9 months, etc) . It's pretty obvious that she dosn't know the meaning of it, although if she does she might not want u to get into trouble, whatsoever? I suppose u have some rights as well, why dont u 2 compromise a bit and try to adjust to each other. Not only u have to adjust, but ur mom as well... convince her that ur not doing anything wrong. U have to take one step at a time, and be very careful and patient coz u might fall - have in mind that it might take a while. Start with the Kesh, and slowely move on. Another solution, u could get a smaller Kirpan and wear it under ur shirt. I assume that u wear a Turban, then how can she see the Kanga or the Kachera? Read all the books u want... she cant just throw u out of the house, coz of that!?! Gift her a book about Sikhism, or ask her if she wants u to read about Sikhism or A-magaizinez, or tell her u wrote something about Sikhi esp. for her and want her to read it- make her proud and get her involved- make an effort, etc. If she wont adjust or listen to u at all, u have to be a bit provocative, but to an extent. See as for my part Im aware of the meaning of a Kirpan and its purpose, however I havnt started wearing it yet, coz I have a sligt idea that Im not mentally/physically strong enough to protect anyone with a Kirpan. To start with, u have to ask urself this question (or maybe u already have)... Plz be critical with my comments, this is nothing, Im sure Sangat can come up with a better advide and u'll get past this stage easily... Keep it up!! -dustofurfeet

    Sikhi

GuruFatah to this great sangat! Anyone, plz share ur knowledge? Today's world / Sikhi?? Or any similar threads relating to this topic on the forum? Appriciate ur time.
  13. I don't know if u have read this article already, but here are some more details. Waheguru Rakha!!!!!
  14. Baldeep Virji, "Be the change, U want to see". Waiting for all the uncle ji's is just hopeless and useless, u have to take the step urself. But I so much agree... Like we ppl have a tendency to judge a person by looking at him/her, rather than looking at the contents of the person. Same with the Gurudwara's nowadays... its the looks that matters and not the contents of the Gurudwara : ( -dust of ur feet-
  15. My pinD is called Denmark I asked some uncle's in the Gurudwara, let's sit together-no instruments playing-just saying Waheguru Waheguru aloud for 10-15 min. Answer, "Puttar now we'v payed for the Gyaani ji to come, so ppl would rather listen to him, also we do not have much time". BANG! This was a request for Vaisakhi, I thought loads of youth will come, so it might be a good idea to give them a taste of the Naam. If ppl wont experience it/taste it, they would never know how it is... and it's getting very late here for the youth. However that dosn't make me stop asking them again! It's really something when ur a whole group of ppl sitting together... But Ill join u guys in the summer... Oh and Im a Kaur. -dust of ur feet-
  16. Wow... 1 hour Naam Simran? I assume that the whole congregation would be sitting together remembering God, ie, saying Waheguru for one hour?? It must be an amazing feeling saying Waheguru aloud for 1 hour with the whole sangat, the flow of energy and love... its like ur going through this tunnel I wonder do I sound wierd? Plz save some energy to do it in July as well! Ill let my cousins know about this, that's the least I could do. Anyways U guys are lucky! Apologize for my useless post. -dust of ur feet-
  17. I would appriciate if one of you could make a disposition of how a proper Nagar Kirtan should be in your view... from A-Z. (Also taking into consideration that a procession cannot be held). Thanks...
  18. and how do u crack a program (only if its not to difficult to explain)
  19. WJKK WJKF Iv been trying to download the STTM program from the following link: http://download.waheguroo.com/SikhiToTheMax/ I downloaded all the 3 files in one folder, and when i run the setup.exe file(1st file) it says: "Setup cannot find 'C:\documents and settings\administrator\desktop \sikhitothemax\setupexe.LST' setup is aborting." And when i run the 2nd Setup file it says it cant open and the following: http://shell.windows.com/fileassoc/0409/xm...dir.asp?EXT=LST So there is a LST problem... now whazz that!? Then I tried to uninstall and install it again... same problem. I also burnt it on a cd and tried to open it in another pc, but same problem. What exactly should I do with the 3rd file... unpack it, but how? My operating system is XP-proff Luckily I happen to know some IT-nerds, but they are not that STTM aware. SO really hope there's someone in the techie forum whom could help... Sat bachan!
  20. Ouui u got my attention! Good laugh yea Yep its been discussed a million times... and yea u guys must be really sick of listening to ppl who still are in that doubt or are not even aware of this. But think like this, majority of Sikhs eat meat... and when one's whole network are meat lovers... its obvious that they are closed in this darkness of ignorance that its not a sin to eat meat. Funny to see how easy it is to make fun of such ppl... I have been in that situation, and know many who still are... and it definately wont help like this. But isnt it just that u have to take one step towards Guru ji... and the rest will come to u as long as u open the curtains... etc, etc. So if u don't choose the meat dish on Manvir virjis great menu, then what's left?? Daal and Amrit Naam, right? :T: I would have loved to come though... !!
  21. ""My family is not much into sikhi and since i am new to sikhi myself and do many grave mistakes still, i would ask support and advice from sangat to help me... We use to eat meat a lot in the house, and also drink... but that has died out during the last two years."" Looks like my family... but its really great to see the change in ur familiy DD... how did u manage to do that... ofc with God's grace!!? Currently Guru Granth Sahib ji is in our house (long story why), but we never do the sukhasan/prakashan... mama does the paath in the morning. She cant read punjabi so cant do P and S... so... I have thought of starting to do it, but am hesitating as im pretty much new to it. It's totally not acceptable, I know... Because of circumstances like when having exams, or out travelling... or not being home cuz of some daily routines, etc. and not being able to do P and S, what do u suggest to do then?? I could set my own rules, but some advice wouldnt hurt But yea as DD said a detailed description of Sukhasan and Prakashan would be great!!
  22. Sorry... but what is this respected Nihang Chandi Di Vaar?
  23. What's TADA and SAD? Secondly... he'll be off the post very sonn right? Why don't some of u smart girls or guys take over Badal's place! U clever guys could do much better than Mr Badal... !
  24. Im very unfortunate yea... Don't even have Kaur in my name:( - Modern family... Wierd thing is that the rest of family does Singh and Kaur in their name... Gonna get it changed soon! A few months ago I didn't mind it... but now that I know the meaning of Kaur and have the desire to live upto it, I better get it changed!
