  1. After I get into medical school, but i've never really thought about this.
  2. Eat a lot of roti, milk, dahi, cottage cheese, daalaan (plural), and kiyoou. When you're not eating that if you have a Qdoba nearby try the vege burrito. OMG IT"S SOO GOOD. I want one RIGHT NOW.
  3. I think I saw you performing gatka at Holla Mahola at the Riverside Gurdwara, I participated as well. Was on the Fresno team lol. Nice damalla man, I just recently went to Punjab and didn't know how long the material was supposed to be so I got two that are around 2 meters each .
  4. I saw the commercial for this over a month ago while I was in Punjab, the commercial showed the part where Saqib made his remark to entice the viewers into watching it. I didn't, however, watch it until i came back to the states on youtube. In my opinion the guy made a mistake and i'm sure he knew it, the only thing he could do was blindly cling onto what he originally said. What I found very funny and sad was one of my relatives agreed with Saqib about what he said to justify his X. What's funny is that they would have probably changed their view after they saw the video and saw what the two bibis said...This just goes to show how the media can change everyone's view on a subject just by how they present it. By the way, just to clarify, gatka is a presentable form of shastar vidhiya (knowledge of weapons) that the Guru jis and Singhs used back then. Gatka was the only allowed form by the British as shastar vidhiya was banned. http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Ui_uIbe2XAM Ui_uIbe2XAM
  5. I like to ponder and play the what if game, but in the end you see that there's an infinity amount of scenarios. The only realness and constant reality out there is your spirituality and connection with waheguru and practicing what Guru Jis have taught us/reading Guru Granth Sahib Ji and acting on it.
  6. Seems like another hindu claiming to be a Sikh writing a book that tries to show Sikh freedom fighters who fought against oppression and slavery of the indian government as separatists. Prove me wrong, please do.
  7. Simply breath-taking. The detail on this piece is amazing. Thanks for sharing.
  8. I'm sure google's super advanced alien computer has already read this thread and my post over 900million times in one one billionth of a second and will probably do it within the next week. Oh and signed.
  9. It will be EXPENSIVE. Good gym equipment is expensive, but if you can plan it out with a good business perspective it would be a good idea. Good luck, try looking around body building/gym forums. Good start there, oh and start going to the gym if you want to learn more about what equipment you need. As you advance you learn you slowly start needing more specific equipment.
  10. Yeah, true words. The way I think of education in regards to religion is that it helps me control my future and how I spend it. Think of your education in this world as power and as a tool to control your future and help others. Sikhi tells a Sikh to partake in both worldly and religious affairs. Don't jump to anything rash, just keep your Sikhi in tact and if studies is the problem with your parents, try your hardest to change for your Sikhi.
  11. I can relate to an extent veerji/penji, it's complicated and surprising stuff once you start surfacing the problem.... Will pray for you veerji/penji. In think the parent's fear is their kid not getting enough maya or not living up to their name (degrees and what not). If you can try seeing if you can accomplish one thing they want, if it's studies try to give it your all in that and see if they 'loosen' up, ironic how you (we) go a right path and the correct ones are corrected . In the end just keep your thoughts to yourself and try to reasonably live with what they say. Remember the power that brought you to the light. Remember the path will have some bumps on the road, in the end you will come out stronger than ever. Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
  12. This is awesome. Thanks veerji for posting this.
  13. yea I understand what u saying and I also disagree with moving head thing. But the thing I am saying is they are dragging AKJ into this. And ddnt you read the caption used for Manpreet Singh? " Waheguru de upasak ya Chandi de upasak?" it clearly shows that how ignorant the person is who made the video. Just because there is only one point you think is valid doesn't make the whole thing correct. right??? I understand and speak punjabi well, but I don't understand everything right away. Somtimes it takes me time to read and then ponder it, no I didn't. I did not see that.
  14. All I can say is what comes around goes around, I've heard these gunday are responsible for a lot of evil in addition to what you see in the news.
  15. This and what prevented him from going to the Akaal Takht and even talking with people who don't agree with him is a clear example of ego. edit- Just a person isn't educated in a system created by man, it doesn't mean he can't be wise. These personal attacks kind of discredit what you're saying. Also I put quotes around philosophy ('philosophy')/
  16. This was the hottest issue in sikh circles for almost a year. I am surprised that you are so ignorant about it. Do some search and you will know as archives are full of his blasphemy. Hew is discarding banis of nitnem and amrit sanchar and you can imagine how he can be a sikh even. Lastly to call a spade a spade is not politics. We do not discuss politics here. Alright, so it's been out for a year? Then what, that doesn't mean i've not looked into the subject, what's wrong with that? I'm not really ignorant as I've also read up on it but there are always different things I hear. Some people say at first he completely discredited Dasam Granth some say later on he changed his views saying you can't do viakha on Dasam Granth and some people say something totally different. I've seen a bit of his interview and he talks about how you cannot label the Dasam Granth as a Guru, something true, but I never have seen him directly say Dasam Granth isn't the bani of Guru Gobind Singh Ji or discarding Banis... The reason for this question was so someone could lay what his views are clearly cut, why you may ask? It's so others can see exactly what his 'philosophy' or views are in hope to educate themselves as to why they aren't true. This will lead to the education of others who might fall victim to misinformation. This is something people are lacking right now, willingness to cooperate diplomatically and inform each other. Instead a person is slandered and demonized and in effect the follower of the slandered figure's support could rise...
  17. Very true, communism in essence could create a utopia, but human nature will NEVER allow for this. Capitalism system is superior because a person gets what he works for.
  18. All politics aside can someone please clarify what Darshan's views exactly are? Or direct me to a link? Thanks in adv. From some i hear that he isn't against Dasam Granth and from some I hear he is, what's the truth?
  19. Veer ji are you sure you understand what you're watching? If you watch the video clearly you'll realize that there's the one baba who claims you will reach waheguru if you bang your head in a left right motion...I'll upload the full version tomorrow, my last chemistry final exam will be finished today. I think if you look deeper you will also understand what the video maker's overall message is. Look at this thread for a little more insight on what i'm talking about... http://www.sikhsanga...ing-off-simran/ edit- I agree with you on the second video though, they don't understand even what Darshan is saying how can they make a video on that?
  20. Yeah the weather is extreme, but I still like Fresno. Born and raised haha The plus about Fresno is that the housing and everything in general is A LOTT cheaper.
  21. 5) Provide all the info collected from 1,2,3,4 to S1ngh to gain his final approval. I'm nowhere near the point of marriage, but what Singh veer ji said is pretty much spot on. Ultimately it's up to you to judge the lady's character.
  22. As of right now, no one knows what will exactly happen. I don't think we're going anywhere positive though, hopefully it turns out well.
  23. SunSingh ji, i had a talk about this with one of my friends and he does wear a kirpan to school, but if he said if he got caught he could get expelled because of a zero tolerance policy.
