  1. Veerji in one of Giani Thakur Singh Ji's interview he stated that he wanted to make a Katha for sadaran people in Punjab who are illiterate etc. So therefore Giani Ji's Katha wasnt a let down but was very helpful and amazing for people like me who do not understand the depth of Sikhi. 2. Im sorry for any mistakes but personally I thought this was very racist.
  3. What does Kalki Avtar being a metaphor have to do with Khalsa being corrupt? Is there something I'm not understanding?
  4. Interesting enough, When I was learning about the Bible in my Theology class, we came across the Book of Revelations and the description of their "savior" and I have go to admit, it was very very similar to the Kalki avtaar. This is also stated in the Quran (I believe). Its interesting to know how we can have soo many similarites about the belief of the end of the world, or the end of the yug as we interpret it.
  5. I dont think there is anything wrong with young boys admiring Sant Ji. I dont see why Sant Ji wouldnt approve.
  6. I dont understand why we are always so quick to judge. Why can't we appreciate a person for what he's done and who he is. A true Sikh is one who does not judge but instead finds the good qualities within person and tries to look at that person with pyaar. Not defame him all over the internet. So lets show support for a fellow keshdhari Sikh rather than finding one's flaws. Not everyone is perfect. If they were then we would all be Bramgianis. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  7. If people want to talk to the opposite sex and be innapropriate, then nothing will stop them. Social networks aren't the only causes.
  8. Many Sikhs believe that Sant Ji isn't a shaheed and they will come back to set foundations of Khalistan, according to Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji.
  9. This is hurtful. I dont wear skinny jeans or tights but the language used is very disgraceful. Just because a bibi wears jeans or tights does not make her a sl*t. Please talk respectfully to your fellow sisters. We have no right to judge eachother. Only Guru Sahib, our father can judge us. So everyone here who is making assumptions and playing the blame game, why not concentrate on your own jeevan than badmouthing others. Its perfectly fine if a Singh wants to tell Bibiyan to stop wearing tight clothes, but that does not mean they can abuse a fellow Singhnee with vulgar words. Bhul Chuk Maaf
  10. Our Gurus did not set out any specifications on clothes but I feel a bibi should dress modestly. Not too much over the top like covering arms etc but somewhat decent since she is representing Khalsa and Guru Gobind Singh Ji's daughter. I dont see anything wrong with tights if they are decent. Like if the shirt is really long or a bibi is wearing a dress, I would rather prefer her to wear leggings than bare legs.
  11. I believe that Guru Ji taught us the path for God, but Guru Nanak Dev Ji weren't God because the Mool Mantar clearly defines that God can not be in any form. Yes we can say that Guru Nanak Dev Ji had God's Jot but since God is formless and cannot be inside a mother's womb, then Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj weren't God. The gurbani tuk that was presented can be interpreted in different ways. My interpretation is, that God is our teacher or Guru and there is no differenct between God and a spirtitual teacher, but that does not mean that Guru Nanak Dev Ji were God. I know many people will disagree but its up to everyone's own interpretations and beliefs. Guru Gobind Singh Ji had the same Jot of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, but Guru Ji states; " "Those who call me God, will fall into the deep pit of hell. Regard me as one of his slaves and have no doubt whatever about it. I am a servant of the Supreme Being; and have come to behold the wonderful drama of life." - Guru Gobind Singh Ji Guru Gobind Singh Ji also write that God ordered Guru Sahib to go down to earth in his previous Janam, when Guru Sahib was Dusht Daman. 12. That was a very good reply Only Five Ji. But I still feel that we should all concentrate on our Sikhi Jeevan, rather than trying to find flaws in the lifestyles or mentality of other faiths. 13. Well my question is that if someone is born into a Non Sikh family then that means it was due to their karma that they werent exposed to Sikhi, but what about the years before Guru Nanak Dev Ji? I know this question is often asked, but I've never really found an answer from the Sikhs who believe that Sikhi is the more superior path or lifestyle. (by the way, this does not mean I am referring to you Only Five Ji I am just asking a question in general, just to clarify)
  14. So are you trying to indicate that Sikhism is superior since sachkhand is union with God and we can recieve that as Sikhs? Then why is it a Muslim's fault he was born into a Muslim family? Or a Hindu's fault? They aren't exposed to the teachings of Sikhism. Please clarify.
  15. An Amritdhari Singh with a gatra. Why did the Singh agree to this?
  16. Dude, I dont know if your display pic is really yours or anyone elses, but when you go out adorning a dastaar, there maybe many ignorant people who will look at you and think you are a clown or a terrorist, hmm I think we should all stop wearing Dastaars and keeping kesh yeah? Cuz then them ignorant people think we're Muslim, terrorists or clowns so lets all please them... (sarcasam)
  17. LOL same here! except its not my massi its a close friend. P.S I know I sound really ignorant right now but is that real footage?
  18. So when I posted on the other thread, I had no idea how big the screen was going to be. I agree this huge screen will be a distraction and as someone else had mentioned, the people that will watch the screen will have their backs to Darbar Sahib. I was expecting much smaller screens to be around the Parikarma. I can't believe SGPC is allowing this!
  19. Even if the dastaar is big, its still a part of the Bana, therefore we should respect and expect respect from others for our Bana, regardless of whether or not its big.
  20. Actually I dont find anything wrong with the LED screens. It was very useful for reading the transliterations inside Darbar Sahib. I agree with the fact that SGPC should also concentrate on other problems like drugs, poverty etc but I actually think this is a nice thing to do for people who don't understand Gurmukhi. They can listen to kirtan and understand it as well. And also, this isn't SGPC's step, they aren't the ones providing this seva, as it was written above, Sangat from Canada want to take up this Seva so why not let them do what they want without judging them for it?

    Durga Puja

I dont think the original poster posted anything about Durga Pooja happening at a Gurdwara or Gurmat functions. From what I understand, the poster is just asking whether or not it is ok to go to a Durga Pooja in thier "flat" or apartment.
  22. I guess it all depends on where you go in Punjab. I went to Ahmedgarh area and I didnt see this happening. The villagers might not be totally into Sikhi but I only saw a few Mandirs in that Area compared to multiple Gurdwaras. And I can safely say I saw about more than 20 cars my whole trip with Sant Ji's Pics on them. Alot of Sikhs do go to Mandirs etc but I think its mostly common in City areas or areas with a large Hindu population. And I think its something to be expected when people mix Religion with Culture. There are many Sikhs that go to Hindu Mandirs and many Sikhs that go to Dargah's and believe in Superstition. But I think this problem is not only with Sikhs, many Muslims and Hindus in Punjab are pretty confused about their ideals etc as well. I saw many Proper Sikhs but I didnt see any Proper Hindus or Proper Muslims.
  23. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.
