  1. Lol mother most certainly does NOT go to club and take jacket off. And SIKH girls do not lie to their mothers to go clubbing. A sikh is truthful and tries their level best to stay away from bad sangat. A SIKH does not brand a girl a 'slapper' but sees god inside every single human being, slandering a human is slandering god. A sikh does not slander, gossip or make negative judgements/ comments about others. A sikh is truthful, respectful and loving and meditates/ focuses on God and the Guru. A sikhs destination is Sachkandh (if they have not already reached His court) and tries to get rid of the darkness and mental illness within, not feed it and make it stronger. You are a sikh by choice, not just by birth.

    Problems

Thats really all you can do ji. People can't control their thoughts, it's part of the darkness of kaljug, we're all mentally ill until we are able to conrol our thoughts and merge into the creator. The line "you remind me of my sister" should do the trick. If you don't have a sister, then maybe you remind me of my cousin. We're meant to see the world as our brothers and sisters except for our spouses. That would help in trying to control lustful thoughts and dealing with this kind of thing. Look at them like they are mentally handicapped sisters (as are you, we all are until we reach His Court.!) Try not to see them as enemies but see god within every one of them, it'll make it easier to see them as your sisters whether they're black, white, chinese, Indian or other. It's due to our karma that we suffer, anything bad that happens to you is actually your own fault (karma from this or previous lives) and may even be blessings (make you turn to god in some way). Don't blame them.
  3. Seriously? I'd love someone to tell my 80 yr old gran that. She'd tell them where to go! lol. The gurdwarra is no boot camp.
  4. Lol the glory of god is such that nothing can happen without his hukam. If he wants a khalsa army to rise, it will happen, it;s not in the hands of these black magic practicing satan lovers, his shaheeds come to earth and go back to sachkandh as they please and take care of our affairs and gods power is everywhere, if he wants Obama to chop his own head off, it will happen. Sikhi is pretty much protected although close minded people from within are slowly trying to destroy it (It is humanities best path to god, not just for asians and many of the leaders in Akal Takht are corrupt no dount with the influence of Illuminati/freemasons). Yes they are real, with the grace of god/ naam jaap I see their marks in most places, reading about it is the start, if you read enough the facts will be enough to convince you. I was very sceptical in the beginning but after keeping up with the news, the latest songs, media etc I began to see them very prominently in our society and that upset me alot. Keep reading and after a year or two if you're not convinced, stop! It's not just the Murdochs, there are families and people who are the rulers of this world, where there's wealth there is power and gurbani tells us the kings *powerful people/ leaders) of this age will be butchers and evil. Every single sikh has the responsibility to look into these words in gurbani and believe them to be true, our Gurus knew everything and those who do not believe their claims that the kings of this age are butchers are not true sikhs, these organisations were around during our gurus times under different names, our gurus knew what the world would descend into and who would help speed up kaljug. At the same time be discerning with what you read, there are also corrupt top conspiracy theorists attempting to mislead people who see the evil roles these organisation's play so let your intuition and good judgement guide you, ask god to guide you.
  5. Illuminati n freemasons! The evidence against them is utterly overwhelming and they've performed so much black magic it's ridiculous, it's no wonder everyones walking around in a daze. I see their symbols and dark magic everywhere esp in London, satans having a field day up here!

    Tired

cardio is very good, ive also tried kundalini yoga, pliates, dumbells and I have to stretch every single morning, this makes me feel pretty energised and calm and clear minded. Cardio is very good whatever time, I try and do it coupled with crunches, pliates and dumbells in the evenings (once a week cuz im lazy and nowadays less than that! although I do light pilates and kundalini yoga during the week!) n stretch in the mornings. In short tho any excercise is good, it all boosts your energy levels so do jumping jacks or skipping if u have to at the least. p.s excercise helps your naam jaap massively so theres really no cons.
  7. This is wiki's definition of a turban: "Turban is an English word used to refer to several sorts of headwear. A commonly used synonym is a Pagri, the Indian word for turban. Turbans are a popular form of headgear worn in the Middle East, North Africa and Southwest Asia. They are designed to help keep the user cool in hot desert environments such as the Sahara." People tie turbans in different ways and wear them oin different countries. I don't think the white girls turbans are offensive in this light and think the sikhs on there prob do it for fun, not in a disrespectful way.
  8. ^I agree with this person about not letting ego come in the way of seva etc. Someone once said that people are reluctant to pay dasvandh or even taxes in this world and that this is laughable as it shows attachment people have to material things like money/ possessions. They make excuses like we need this and that when they are not items that are needed but wanted. We could eat roti and daal every night and give the extra money spent on other items to the poor. We could only use the basics and give away our remaining wealth to the poor, that is unattachment. Trust in god, whatever he does is for your own good, your status and ego is just as temporary as material objects and attachment to your status or material objects is wrong. God makes you who you are, you cannot do anything on your own. We have free will but even actions committed in free will are gods hukam, your every thought is part of gods hukam. Trust in him and let him lead you. When you have been slandered by everyone and have nothing to your name, no status, honour etc, you'll always have god and recognising this elevates you to the highest status. People will see this and feel this and be shocked that a person with nothing is still content, although many will try hard to deny it in this fickle age.
  9. Like others have said, with god. Worldy happiness is false and the happiest we will ever be is when we are at one (in our true home) with or creator. Some may think they're happy now, but how can someone be truly happy living in ignorance? We're living with families that are not even our real families? Your mother may have been a murderer in her last life or your father may have been a muslim. How can we be truly happy in a world in which everyone we know must die. A world that is completely dark because people have forgotten the light. A place that is filled with demons that influence peoples actions and thoughts that most people cannot see or do not protect themselves against. How can we call this place or our physical bodies which are susceptible to disease and death home? I walk around unsettled everywhere I go. The only time I feel true peace is when I remember my creator. When I say his name and connect with him and his love. I then realise he pervades everywhere, that I should have nothing to fear here because he is here. It is not the creation we should call home, it's the creator. He is with us everywhere and we forget him. All we need to do is call his name, talk to him, love him and fulfill our destiny and merge with him. I could call anywhere home if I remeber it is God, that it's all God. But the world is trecherous and I forget him so often. My true home is where I find him and merge with him, then I know I will have truly come for good.
  10. You shouldn't be so mistrusting. It happened, I'm speaking the truth.
  11. Alot of people seem really respectful and engaged. When I'm at a wedding or party and most people are drunk as per punjabi culture I say gods name in my head and sing his praises. I guess it could be seen abit like that, people shouldn't stop singing gods praises just because of a few, that would be giving into kaljug. sath naam thaeraa paraa poorabalaa || 'Sat Naam' is Your perfect, primal Name. SGGS 1083 - Guru Arjan Dev Ji
  12. Lol my mum used to call them rats tails and I thought thats what they were when I was younger- I hated them for that reason as you may have guessed!
  13. Gurbani tells us to keep good comany (sangat). However this can be very difficult in terms of family, school friends etc. You're stuck with them at school, I'd say try ad stay as detached from them as possible if it is difficult to keep away from them. Be like a lotus in a pond like it says in gurbani, no matter how low their mindsets and habit are, do not let yourself get soiled, stay pure, float above, keep the guru in mind (keep your mind clear of bad and violent thoughts) and do good deeds and jaap naam as much as you can (naam jaap coupled with good deeds in action and mind offers you the greatest protection.) Although gurbani says in the company of bad sangat, their dirt (evil mindedness/kaljug) will inevitably rub off on you, it also gives the instructions to remain detached in the midst of the world. If you can do this (with naam and good deeds in mind and action), evil can't rub off on you.
  14. Yeh thats true but then I've also heard of cases where the wives get jealous of a close mother and son relationship, or wants to basically sabotage the sons good relationship, sometimes so she can kick them out or move out! I guess there are loads of different scenarios out there, the world is a crazy messed up place after all, there is no end to the craziness of kaljug!
  15. ^Given the humble nature of a saint/holy man it's not suprising but the concept is funny, like a king or multi billionaire assuming peasant dress and being treated normally (but sometimes disrespectfully which is not so funny) by society.
  16. It happened when I was younger at one of the small gurdwarras in southall, can't remeber which one.
  17. I don't know, I guess some of the guys could be weak minded and easily led astray, or maybe too lazy and complacent with their wives to complain or as you said genuinely scared that their wives will leave them or punish them(taking away kids etc.). I can;t even figure my own family out, my aunts brother is either weak minded (ie.( please forgive me for saying) stupid) or mental, mind you though his wife is quite (really) scary. If she tells him to jump he does. My cousins are pretty weak minded aswell so I'm thinking there must be a correlation between authoritarian like women marrying weak minded men. Maybe it's one of things they put on their list when they search for suitable marriage partners.
  18. My aunt doted on her sons like nothing else just as her mother did on her brother, but like her brother once they were married they stopped caring altogether and treated her very badly. Her daughter in laws became everything her daughters had warned her they would become and the sons followed them like sheep. The daughters stood by her like they always had although they will probably always be underappreciated.
  19. We've all heard the stories about corrupt money hungry and lustful gianis and the ones who hang out at glassy junction in their spare time, I've heard this from my parent! However I am certain there are a few who are genuine, I think you can feel and sometimes see spirituality and have come across a couple of very spiritual gianis. I once went to a gurdwarra where the gianis/ giani had pin up girls on their wall in their living quarters though. That was definately a shock!
  20. Yes and younger gianis should be included more aswell. I remeber at a wedding I went to a little while ago there was a Giani who looked like he was in his early 20's reading the paath. I haven't seen many of those and found him so inspiring, while many (prob most but I could be wrong) were doled up and thinking about the reception anticipating the booze up he was worshipping our master.
  21. The person who conducted this imaginary survey prob found out his g/f's last relationship was with a muslim. Don't listen to these people, alot of sikh girls wouldn't trust a muslim guy if he bought her a ferrari with all the stories that have been told. I'm not saying all muslim guys are bad either, we're all babajis children. But for the most part I'd say most sikh girls know how some muslim guys can brainwash a girl.
  22. Ahh that seeweed can't compare to indian food, after 23 years of eating Indian food most nights it still makes my mouth water!
  23. Yeh I agree, the good paintings are very awe inspiring, and very realistic, that's one of the things that freak me out, that whole whichever way u walk their eyes seem to be following you thing. Some of their religious paintings are absolutely stunning and I'd love to see pics painted like that. We need more great inspiring sikh pics, of great proportions aswell, some of those renaissance pics are huge! We need a sikh celing mural depicting our gurus and our shaheeds and their white lions!
