  1. When i see youtube videos of various leaders giving speech i see 1 vital ingredient lacking....that is passion. That energy that shaheed sant bhindranwale had when he spoke you saw he was a serious man and serious about doing business. We dont see that in our leaders these days. Often they talk in a mute quite tone in a relaxed manor like shaheed sant harchand longewal did, these type of people or speechs dont inspire people or wake up the audience. Or am I wrong is there an educated articulate intelligent leader out there or sikh spokesman who can argue the case for Sikh sovereignty/self-determination with full voice and passion? I like this guys speech very much. This kind of leaders and speechs we need
  2. I agree Sikhs armed jatha's did commit some revenge killings after much provocative killings and desecration's of holy places by punjabi & kashmiri muslim mobs and pathan tribal lashkar's. It would be best to focus on how much Sikhs have lost since the British establishment in its lack of wisdom decided to divide the punjab and create the entities of india and pakistan. The muslims on the whole too are not happy what they got due to the military middling of the British, they lost their beloved khalifa in 1924.
  3. Your right many Sikhs especially those raised in westernized environments are quick to jump or support other causes like Palestinians, homosexuals, feminist extremist leftest liberal polices, etc but they forget their own community's national causes. They do not realise the disaster the Sikh nation has faced since 1947 thanks to the British establishment similarly the Palestinians suffered the same problem at the hands of the British meddling in the middle eastern affairs giving their land to the illegal and immoral master criminal Rothschild banking Zionist funded Jewish state of Israel. We should dedicate august as Sikh national disaster awareness month just like the black community has a month dedicated to giving awareness to their community about the slavery of their people.
  4. Most western NGO's often have military intelligence funding or operatives within them who are there to further the interests of the western governments they come from. Uganda's natural resources = copper, cobalt, hydropower, limestone, salt, arable land, gold (taken from CIA website. What the CIA website fails to mention is the discovery of oil. Oil is the number resource that western governments are dying to get their hands on at all costs. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-15645354 This is the real reason of propaganda videos like these and justifications for military adventurism. Sure there are evil people doing evil things but often governments need a pretext to invade or send troops to a nation and if there is no incentive there or there is no national Geo-political military interest there they will not care to do anything no matter how much human suffering is going on.
  5. Interesting story not heard of it before. And yes I believe we can change our destinies too because Waheguru has instilled part of him (the soul) within us. If we realise this we can be masters of our destinies rather than let circumstances or let other forces dictate our lives.
  6. I have thought about this alot..... are we given free will if so then...how can it be when our destinies are already written (kismat). The best reconciliation in my mind I can make is that as God within all of his creation. Waheguru can change the destiny as he wills. He is the master we are the mere puppets on this stage (this world). This is why when Gurbani says everything Waheguru does is a blessing even bad times and punishments are gifts its because we have to accept the hukaum of the lord that is the sign of a true Sikh and one destined for salvation. The lord does how he wills and no one can stop that.
  7. Admin I agree that there shouldn't be a debate on meat or not I hope the thread wasnt going to go that way. However if a post is deleted an explanation should be given so that members are made aware of why. Otherwise credibility of the forum will go...
  8. yeah thats what I thought, couldn't believe what I was watching. The agency who made this advert needs to be identified and made an example of, its not acceptable these kind of racist adverts in 2012 are being promoted as a good thing for a European Union propaganda.
  9. Hmm were did my post go in reply to singher23's question did they eat meat? If posts are disappearing without explanation then there is seriously something wrong with how mods are conducting themselves on this forum. You cant just remove a whole post by someone if it isnt abusive and no explanation is given.
  10. Saw it here Original source of article is: Le Magasin Pittoresque (1836), 372. Translated by Nanak Dev Singh.
  11. I stated before hand she was a lowlife for doing what she did it doesnt what if she sikh or not what she did was discpicable what my issue was west london singh jumping to conclusion that she was part of our community. I had issue with that just because one has a punjabi name it doesnt make her from our community. Sikhs come from all backgrounds these days this is a sikh forum not a punjabi centric forum so our community is the sikh community not punjabi. If the article had specifically said she is a sikh woman I would have said yes its shameful for us sikhs we have such people but if they are not saying the religion then why are we putting this woman as part of us? as i highlighted before there are many non-sikh punjabi's who have sikh sounding names we shouldnt automatically assume one is from our community...thats all
  12. Seems like the Akali's this author is talking about were mostly former hindu durga poojaree's who converted to or were born into Sikhism
  13. The following is a description of them from a French article published in 1836: The ancient Sikh principles were still maintained in a certain cross-section of the population, and one still saw religious devotees called ‘akalis’ (immortals) perpetuating the marks of the warring abilities of the old of their sect. The akalis wear a blue cloth turban on their heads which ends in a point which flops down in front; to this they fix several round pieces of iron, these sometimes act as a defensive weapon, being used like a quoit. They don’t cut their hair or shave their beard, and carry a sword and shield just like their master Guru [Gobind] Singh, and they have added a club to this. These religious devotees do not believe in multiple gods and prohibit the worship of idols; however they do honour in particular Dourga Bhavani, goddess of war, arms and courage. They eat animal flesh except from cows, which they venerate; they believe in reward and punishment in the life to come, just as in reincarnation; no holy images are found in their temples and their prayers are simple and short. In a word, their cult is strict and without flamboyance.
  14. who is it your suggesting to what she did was ok if she a non-sikh? people really need to read the thread properly before they make comments
  15. Daily mail I think you need to visit the ravidassia facebook group and see what names on there who espouse to be non-sikhs but ravidassia's they use the last name kaur and singh too. Similarly hindu punjabi's have Sikh sounding names often hindu punjabi's and sikhs have inter-religious marriages so these names pass from one generation to another. 40% of punjab is hindu so there is a high likely hood she can he a hindu punjabi. There are also many christian punjabi's just search on youtube ans see how they carry on their sikh identity yet claiming to be christian. so why we are attaching religion to this lowlife of woman when we don't know as the article doesn't say what faith she believes is? This is Lunacy trying to put your own community down if you are even sikh.
  16. You guys still dont get it....basically what the creators of that advert are trying to convey in my opinion is a lone white woman representing Europe (the white race) versus the 3 ethnic / religious men ....representing the emerging global economic superpowers (India, China and Brazil). There is clear intent on part of the advert makers to create a sense of hatred of non-whites and non-Europeans and scaring the target audience into thinking a united Europe can fight of the threat from other races these other nations. Its like an advert straight from nazi Germany.
  17. How can mann win anything when the Sikh youths have been murdered who supported independence. Supporting Mann is a hopeless and wasteful cause. Better to work within the India system and break it within use the tactics they deploy against Sikh political interests. congress murdered Sikhs in 1984 not only out of revenge but also to reduce the Sikh vote bank. This is its important to wake up Sikhs educate them and begin the process of engaging India's hindu's to convert to Sikhism its the only chance to ever gaining sovereignty again but if we go with the likes of dal khalsa or mann then you can forget about sikh political power its a waste of time.
  18. Again you show your lack of intelligence.... she could be Sikh who knows but how quick we are to assume she is Sikh is fascinating. The bitter pill you cant swallow is seeing she may not be Sikh. she doesnt have her religion mentioned so why are we quick to assume she is Sikh? He the article suggested she is Sikh I nor anyone else would have issue, but i think it would be very unwise for people to assume she is sikh just cos she has a punjabi name. As the Sikhnet thread has shown the chairman of 3ho mr kartar singh khalsa who everyone would assume was a convert to Sikhism actually declared in american court he wasnt a Sikh.
  19. Has she got her religion tattooed on her head or something? go look at names of Christian punjabis hindu punjabis and ravidassia non-sikh punjabis. they all use their punjabi names and the name kaur or singh even though they dont follow sikhism. You should use your intelligence.
  20. No .....im taking abt the context of the video..... the way 3 different ethnic / religious looking guys and 1 lone white female made to look like shes under attack she represents europe the others 3 different nations. I think its a very cunningly designed racist advert
  21. There even appears to be a Sikh character swinging his sword about who supposedly represents India i'm guessing.
  22. I think thats the Sikh reference library. The christian clock tower was massive it towered above darbar sahib.
  23. I'm not sure they did, they kept saying Sikhs didnt form a majority in most area's in Punjab. Sikhs were land owners they owned most of Punjab they did not go out converting people of other faiths to become Sikhs so when the British drew up plans to divide the punjab on population basis it was against the history and interest of Sikhs. They did everything they could to make sure Sikhs never become regional power or a nation again.
  24. I believe he did not specifically order the destruction of sirhind, I think he gave the authorisation for punishing wazir khan and others involved in the martyring of sahibzada's. Wazir Khan had called a jihad against Banda after learning of his mission but in battle with the singhs, wazir was singled out cut in half and beheaded thus banda fulfilling Guru ji's order.
  25. There will be no resolution for baloch or kashmiri freedom seekers until BOTH Indian union and Pakistan are dismantled. If there is civil war in both countries then there is a chance locked religious and ethnic nations can gain their freedom and independence but these 2 artificial entities (india and pakistan) will not give up their grip on power and people easily.
