so my sisters and my friends are really goodlooking they always call men their age veerji just to be safe but it seems that it doesn't matter to them because in few days they end up getting rishte from them (Veerjis) what do you guys think? isnt it wrong? if you call someone veerji you want them to see you as a penji why is it that it doesnt matter to people?

veerji umm well you should major in something different then maybe.. something that you are more into there are so many cool majors out there that aren't as boring as biology and math just get thru the general ed classes ... after that major in something you are more interested in i think you shouldnt bother with medical sciences. or w/e thats what most desis end up majoring in... major in.. ummm.. international studies is another fun one. :D i almost failed chem i dropped so many classes and finally taking art classes that i am more into :D do what you love and love what you do stop getting depressed over this its not worth it you can always start over.. change ur major if sciences arent ur thing..

we have guru granth sahib ji at home.. we brought guru ji home and shortly after that i started getting into sikhi. i didnt do paath but i just cried my eyes out because i felt far away from vaheguroo jee and started keeping my kesh and then started learning more about sikhi. having guru ji in our house is a blessing but people wouldn't stop bringing meat inside. my parents took everything out everything with eggs.. including cookies and gelatin before we brought guru ji. then our extended family would come over and they started eating in the garage (Technically thats still in the house) then they started bringing it inside because it was too cold or not pleasant to eat in the garage.. and now we always have meat at our house..in our fridge. its so sad and annoying i said mean things to people, my parents and extended family i love them and didnt want to hurt anyones feelings but i wanted to say it so badly they were talking about how people are doing beadbi of guruji by fighting in gurudwaras and other things that are going on and i said so are we by bringing meat inside my sister said hurtful things to mom and then she was told to shut up so she hasnt said anything since. my parents justify bringing meat inside by saying baba jis upstairs we arent taking it upstairs... people that live in apartments have gurujis saroop in their apartment and i am sure not everyone living in the complex is vegetarian. but anyways.. back to the story.. its sad that we are doing beadbi of guruji we talked to our family about this and they said that we will tell gyani ji to ask people if they want to have gurujis saroop in their house so no beadbi is done but i said no to it.. because its amazing having guruji in the house..

yes because pardhans of our gurudwara aren't thats why no one talks about taking amrit ever not even on vaisakhi day and no one does ardaas for shaheeds even on 6th June.. we have to get their permission if we cant have sikhi posters in our gurudwara (i mean to get people to do paath) when people were doing chaupai sahib paaths i taped posters everywhere before langar went downstairs came back upstairs and people told me that they saw gurudwara secretary take them down.. then i put them up again and he took them down again.. then i made a lot of cds and wrote about chaupai sahib paaths on the cover.. haha clever me.. but its a pain to have pardhans that don't really care about sikhi.. all they care about is getting enough donations so they could finally have a party hall that they could rent out and make gurudwara into a hang out place.. .because thats what they said in announcements..they were like.. ahh.. sangat ji donate so we could make this gurudwara into a community place... since we are getting old we need a place where we could get together and do things together o yeah. and then the map of how they want the gurudwara had party hall in it... sadly people were like yeah.. good they are making gurudwara bigger and me and few other people were against it.. i know everything sounds so negative but its a pain to see all this happen.. People please.. dont donate your dasvand to your local gurudwara if it has enough already.. give to the shaheed families in india someone mentioned khalsa aid... (dont start yelling) if you dont like khalsa aid.. then tell jathebandis that you like to organize something that would help out them because they are our jumevari... or pingalwara is a good organization too.. help there.. Stop giving money for party halls that are only gona lead to further beadbi..!!

veerji eventhough i agree that he is a befkuf banda. he asked anti dasam granth chelas to burn dasam granth ji bani. but i think these comments are posted by one of the singhs who hacked into his page.

west london singh just because you think other communities are okay with racist jokes targeted towards them doesnt mean sikhs have to start tolerating such jokes.turban jokes are offensive they will always be. gore dont understand what our dastaars mean to us.. thats because our own people start to disrespect dastaars and sikhi look at hard"kaur" look at those people that tie a pagh and lie on the roads drunk.. why do we try to fit in the society so much or learn the "society standards" why cant we be different and change the society as well..

i agree with neverforget84dotcom instead of giving your dasvandh to a gurudwara... sikhnet.. or anything else help out the families of shaheed as they are in need.. we talk about singhs that took shaheedi we talk about how they were great and all but we don't make an effort to help their loved ones getta better life. they are our jumedari.. if we neglect them then thats just sad. please help them over any other org

although this topic is really stupid.. i am still going to say how i feel about this.. guys, wear kurta pajama to gurudwara if you expect bibian to dress decent. i love jeggings. becuase i dnt like other pants.. i dont care about the latest fashion though.. jeggings are pretty decent actually they are the same as pajamian.. i dont mind wearing suits to school but i am scared to drive with all those crazy heavy salvars! guys grow up and how are you supposed to help the path when you are so worried about things that should hardly matter. although i do think shirts should be Decent looking..same goes for guys please cover up your butt especially in the langar hall. i am not amritthari but once i am i would love to wear bana to school now i wear skinny jeans most of the time does that mean i am disrespecting sikhi? no i dont think!! i shop from walmart to be honest i am not into fashion and all but i dnt see why people are so agaisnt the tight jeans!! and thats not modernizing sikhi!! i wear skinny jeans because they make you warmer in the winter.. and they are comfy :D

it upsets me when men wear tight jeans to the gurudwara and you are sitting there at the langar halll look up and see a butt crack while your eating not a pleasant moment.. please wear kurta pajama or wear bana if ur amritthari thats even better if not then please wear a belt and less tighter jeans "Walk into a room full of guys and if they start looking straight at your but when you walk by and comment on the size of it, which means the jeans are skin tight, then it's makes you look like a sl*t/. penji i wear skinny jeals all the time just because i dont like the other jeans not i wear them because they look good..i love long skirts i wear jeans under them and i think they look preety decent... isnt wearing pajamis the same thing?

if you tell a christain that god is everywhere god is inside of us.. then they laugh/ freak out.. because god is jesus and jesus is only in heaven... all the gurus were roop of god.!! this tells us that not only guru nanak dev ji was god but all the gurus were roop of God.. God isn't some so narrow who could only exist in one place at once... God is more than just words he cant be described.. !! Its different to say I am god... pray to me.. and its different to say.. Guru Parmesar Iko Jaan... because this line is telling us to understand that Guru has realized that jot thats within him and he has become one with Vaheguroo.. Sikhi philosophy is so different than the philosophy of other religions but we still try to narrow it down and try to put it in terms of other religions! vah vah sikho!

In Sikhi philosophy being elightened is becoming one with God... Gurus were enlightened how do you become enlightened? by following the path guru jis given us the path that is finer than a hair and sharper than a sword people try to fit sikhi in the understanding the world understands.. God is everywhere in water, earth, sky everywhere God is inside of us.. that jot that is in our soul is there but maya has made us filthy the day we realize that jot is when we become God himself. Gurus were enlightened they were more than enlightenened they were so in love with God that sitting on a hot plate didnt matter to them... Bhagat kabeer ji was having a conversation with god and he said god if only for one second you would come into my eyes.. and give me darshan in my eyes.. god said what would you do if i came into your eyes he said god i would close them and never open them for eternity.. thats pyar...(bhai sukha singh ji) thats how you become one with God. We argue and try to understand Gurbani we can't understand gurbani can't judge,argue using gurbani lines... only way we can't be enlightened is by understanding Gurbani. God can't be understood.. god is beyond words.. We can't understand God.. we simpy have to love god.. why understand that swimming with dolphins is fun why not go and do it? (bhai sukha singh)

Veerji i agree with you there are so many things that aren't the way they should be.. it frustrates you but then you get used to it and sorta start doing waht everyone else does.. this world is a messed up place. for example: at our gurudwara we don't even talk about the shaheeds we don't talk about taking amrit because most of the committee people are those that arent even into sikhi.. they run the gurudwara like its some social place.. it was the ghallughara anniversary when we decided to set the background on the laptop to photos of sant ji and other shaheeds. because even doing something so little in our gurudwara is big. so we were doing sikhitothemax and we got mean looks.. gyani ji doesnt do ardaas for the shaheeds so this auntyjee told him to do it. he didn't talk about it during keertan or acknowledged that it was a big day.. i was sitting there crying because it was so sad to see people forget those kurbanian.. gyani ji didnt mention the shaheedi divas in ardaas either and my friend yelled it out loud he heard it but he went on with ardaas and totally ignored her she said it 3 times.. but then it was sad because he still dont acknowledge it.. then she started crying too.. its not gyani jis fault its our fault actually because we havent made enough effort to aware our fellow sikhs about what happened in 84 we need to unite as a panth we need to stop fighting amongst each other only then we will be able to make a differencewhen you ask someone to donate for a sikhi cause.. they dont donate because they are liek o.. i dont know if my money is gona be used for the purpose its being donated to... this is bs.. they dont care about that money when they are gambling in las vegas!! i guess we all that do feel for those shaheed families need to collabrate and bring that change, be that change together as a community... its not responsibility of one person or one group its responsibility of us all.. because this is a big task one person has to initiate the change and those who care will follow.
