If I were you, I'd choose Hemkunt Sahib. Hemkunt is only open on certain times of the year and NRIs hardly ever visit India during the summer but since you are you might as well take advantage of this opportunity to visit Hemkunt Sahib. Hazoor Sahib can be visited anytime of the year.

We need to stop pulling each other's legs and instead support each other. One group opposes the other, the result we do not grow and progress as a religion. Sant Hari Singh Jee is a very knowledgeable Gursikh and I think he needs to train as many Sikhs as he can both in the west and in India as parcharaks. I don't agree with Sant Hari Singh Jee supporting the Akali Dal Badal as that has dented his image. But he should not be disrespected.

Dalkhalsa like most of the Khalistani uncles in the west have gone the opposite of the path of Sant Bhindranwalay and the Shaheeds. Most of these western Khalistani uncles have officially or unofficially become Kala Afghanis. These old farts need to be ignored by the youth in the west. The youth needs to reconnect with what Sant Jee and the Shaheeds said instead of these Kala Afghanis. At the same time, Sikhs also need to be aware of Sanatanists who misuse Sikh symbols like the Aad Chand to further push their anti Sikh agenda.

ks55 Jee, you have made valid points. But before these Kala Afghanis and missionaries began their anti Dasam Granth campaign hardly anyone ever read Dasam Banis(except for Nitnemi Dasam Banis). Barely any one ever did parkash of Dasam Granth. Then when these heretics began their Anti Dasam Granth campaign to confuse Sikhs, we now have people who have never even read Dasam Granth or any understanding of Dasam Bani becoming fanatically anti Dasam Ganth. I have a close relative who is a Kala Afghani. He has never read Dasam Granth yet he is against Dasam Granth because of the exposure he has gotten from these Kala Afghanis and missionaries. Almost all the Khalistani uncles in the west have now become Kala Afghanis. So you see, exposing these heretics is a must.

When it comes to doing parchar and exposing RSS it is best to stick with Panthich jathabandis such as Sampradah, DDT, AKJ or any other group which believes in traditional Sikhi. I remember originally these missionary parcharaks were not so bad. I used to love reading their little books and listen to their Katha. But now they have gone to the heretic side and turned into pure kala afghanis. These modern missionary parcharaks will get very popular by just exposing RSS or Hindu practices but they will not tell Sikhs what is Naam, Baani, Amritvela which is the very bases of Sikhi. All they do is just expose and do kintu prantu. Currently, these missionaries can be put two groups, those that are openly heretics like Ghagha, Thailandwala then we have those who are still hiding their true colours and Dhunda and Udoke come under this category. They do not want themselves to be exposed just yet, but inside they are fully supportive of the Kala Afghanis. Since such people are not fully exposed yet, they are more dangerous than the exposed heretics because the unexposed heretics have many die hard followers who will refuse to listen to anything bad about their mentors and will defend them to the last breath even if their heretic is doing koor parchar against Guru's bani.

Udoke is doing a lot of parchar against RSS, fine, but why is he quiet on the heretics like Dhunda, Darshan Lal, Ghagha? Udoke has gained great popularity through out the world because of his political theories but with such popularity comes great responsibility. People trust him and if he is making religious statements he needs to realize how his statements will effect those who blindly swallow each and every word of his without using any sense of critical thinking. If he is doing Koor Parchar against Dasam Bani, he is no friend of the Khalsa Panth. I'm (NOT) sorry to say that he is a heretic himself but like Dhunda he is good at hiding himself and has not come out of the closet like Darshan Lal and Ghagha has. Never trust anyone blindly, Please open up your critical thinking sense. Great translation Bhaaji. Great is our Guru who has shown us the way. A Sikh is not suppose to take unrighteous actions in revenge against the enemy. This is the Panth of Saints of Vaheguru. Saints do not murder and rape the enemy even of the enemy does this. For the Khalsa, Dharm must be followed even at times of war.

Vaheguru does not need anything from anyone but we can do Paath and Simran to get his Pyaar. That's interesting. I know from my own family and from other people's family that 2 generations back (grand parents) Sikhs had a pretty healthy birth rate. Because of the positive birthrate of the Sikhs, Master Tara Singh was confident that the Sikhs would eventually form the majority of Punjab(at the time Punjab also included Haryana, Himachal, Chandigarh). Then came the baby boomer generation in which Sikhs began having a very low birth rate and Sikh growth lost it's momentum. All the subsequent generations have just followed the bad example set by the baby boomer generation. After 1984 Sikh leaders had even announced at the Akal Takht that Sikh families should have 5 children even though that was not followed by most but still Sikh population did increase it's percentage in the overall population of Punjab despite the blood bath Sikhs endured during the 80 and early 90s and the migration to Canada/America during those years. But it has decreased now again. Sikhs need to start thinking about family and children again. Studies have shown that larger families tend to be more religious and less selfish. I'm not saying people should have 9 children but a minimum of 3+ children average should be must. That is above replacement level and will also insure growth for the community. I think as Sikhs we can learn not only from Jews but also from the Muslims. From Jews we can learn to stick together and help each other. From the Muslims we can learn to grow our community. The Muslims are growing for a number of reasons, mainly because of their healthy birth rate and their missionary activity. We Sikhs should also try to increase our birth rate since we are a far behind both Hindus and Muslims in this regard plus we need to start doing parchaar to non Sikhs. We should be at least double our current numbers.

Dera Balan are Dushts and enemies of the Sikhs. The rest of the Ravidasias are not enemies. The still beleive in SGGS Jee. If Dera Balan want to install an artificial man made granth in place of a divinely created Granth then that is their loss. They will become bemukhs. The Dera Balan is very aggressively anti Sikh. In village Dhansi they had the audacity to do beadbi of a Nishan Sahib and do other beadbis in the Gurdwara like entering with their shoes on and uncovered head. But Sikhs are quiet on this because they dont want to offend the wider Chamar community as they know that Dera Balan is trying to pick a fight with the Sikhs so then a real rift can be created between the Sikhs and Chamars of Punjab and Dera Balan will then assume the leadership role of the Chamars. But the Dera Ballan is really pushing it. I hope that some soojhvaan people in the Chamar community rise up against the madness of these heretics of Dera Balan.

Dasam Granth is only the first step. After they have discarded Dasam Granth they will next target will be Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. They will first start by doubting banis the Vaar of Satta and Balwand, then Batta de swaye, and Bhagat Banis and so one and so forth. Dr Udoke is like those Khalistani uncles in the west who have been influenced by the Kala Afghanis and have gone away from the Khalistan movement of Sant Bhindranwalay and the Shaheeds to the heretics side. Although Udoke is not as bad at the missionaries yet, as he does beleive in some Dasam Banis, but he is heading the wrong way. He needs to focus on his political theories instead of trying to act like a religious scholar by giving verdicts on religious matters. I'll never understand why it is only in Sikhism where we have non religious, or political type people who have half or no knowledge of religion passing religious verdicts on religious matters. In any other religion it is always scholars who pass religious verdicts on religious matters. In a way it is our own fault that we give political people the respect of a religious scholar. We need to see people for what they are. Political people are political, not religious scholars.

You have to see things in Pakistan's shoes rather than the perspective of the Anglo saxons. Pakistan has many reasons to help the Taliban. For strategic reasons, it would be in Pakistan's interests to help the Taliban gaining control over Afghanistan. Traditionally, Paks have seen Afghanistan as their sphere of influence so naturally they would want someone friendly to them to be in power. Paks know that the Americans are here only temporarily after which the Paks will have to deal with who ever is in power in Kabul, so they would rather have a friend then a foe in power. For the Anglo Saxons to just expect Paks to give up their strategic position is really pushing it. To the credit of the Pakistanis they have played the Anglo Saxons quite well. On the one hand they took billions of dollars of aid and weapons but behind closed doors helped the Taliban. I don't think any other nation has been able to fool the Englishman like this. They have beaten the Englishman at his own game. I have no sympathy for the Americans. They are the inheritors of the British empire. They need to concentrate on their own economy and borders rather than controlling the world.

Mahan Singh Jee, I know that this article is not about his religious views. They are about his political views. Even Kala Afghana probably has lofty political views but that does not mean that we should start to listen to his political views as well. The Akal Takht has issued hukam namas against Kala Afghana and Gurtej Singh and we as dutiful Sikhs need to honour that hukamnama and avoid these Panth de dokhis. Gurtej Singh is the culprit who organized conferences to honour and spread the ideas of Kala Afghana when hardly anyone knew who Kala Afghana was. He used his prestigious titles and position to spread Kala Afghana's message all over the world. This man should not be promoted in any shape or form, especially on a Panthic website like this one. He may have been a professor of Sikhism at one point of his life, but he like the Sikh missionaries has left his original traditional Sikhi behind and has become a loyal Kala Afghani.

I made it clear in my original post why I consider him "dodgy". He is a Kala Afghani, and not just any ordinary Kala Afghani but one of their main leaders. Due to his stature and influence he misled many Sikhs on his heretic Kala Afghani path. Kala Afghanis like this man, Darshan Lal, Ghagha, Dunda say very nice things to initially attract people towards them. Once people are attracted to them, they then start to misguide them with their Kala Afghani heretic philosophy. It is better to not even waste your time to read their literature and promote these heretics. One should avoid these Kala Afghani leaders and their literature and Katha like the plague.

perhaps Saadh Dunda would like to explain why darshan lal is wearing a Mala in this picture next to him. On the one hand they don't beleive in doing Naam Simran, then why do they wear a Mala? they do it so they can fool the general Sikh public into thinking what a Mahapursh he is when he doesn't even do Simran. This is dishonesty by these two good for nothing Saadhs. These double face akhauti parcharaks are just a bojh on this dharti. They do nothing but mislead the Sangat.
