  1. I think this is a growing problem. It was ok back in the day. Nowadays, Sikhi is being turned into something a bit "militant". A ck Sikh Community leader in the UK (not mentioning names) has camps at his Gurdwara every so often. And he said himself "we control the camp as much as possible but we are not militant about the boy girl relationships when it comes to the late teenagers because we would prefer guys n girls meet and socialise in Gurdwara where they know Guru Jee is present rather than going out meeting in clubs etc" (not saying i believe in that, by the way) but i believe its a problem because i know of so many cases. Kids stay clean, in sangat, out of trouble, into Naam, Bani, Simran, but when they get to that age of getting married, they find it so hard because they havent socialised as much so their bol-bani is not up to scratch yet they want to meet someone themselves and get to know their partner a little before marriage. i feel so sad when i hear bout cases like that. one example is a friend of mine whos 27, almost 28 now and her moms always in tears coz they cant find a guy for her and shes one of the best penjis i know. its a difficult sensitive issue.
  2. Heres my theory : Your a weird person therefore you were not actually having a weird day, it would actually be a normal day for you. :TH:
  3. WGKK WGKF :| A troubled member of sangatt has asked me for quotes from SGGSJ regarding the sin of incest but i cant find anything anywhere regarding it. I know Bhai Nand Lal Ji (?) has quoted Guru Gobind Singh Ji "A sikh cannot use a razor or shave... any sikh who does so is commiting a sin as big as incest..." but anyone know the exact lines from Guru Di Bani ?? many thanks in advance :TH:
  4. i dont know... what the hell is happening? Why do people feel its justified to stop others doing sewa? Imagine how much paap that is. U keep up your sewa bhainj and dont let neone get in the way. Especially in the kitchen, thats how it works. U have to stand your ground and use a bit of force. (dont go smackin' no maiyee though!)
  5. Dear KHALSAFORCE.. ... u took the words right outta ma mouth blud. saarreh bhain-bhraavaan nu yeh nimratta sehaj benti hai, ke ektaone kol movie download karke, vcd braanke, ardaas karke, apne sheharaah vich dekhaloh ke yeh nakli babeh, manmattiya Sikhi vich nehi hai na sade Guru Granth Sahib G iss halaate vich shaamal hune chaiyeedhe han! DONT BE SCARED OF POLICE. THIS IS EVIDENCE. THIS IS NOT SPREADING HATE. WE ARE MERELY JUSTIFYING WHY OUR BELOVED ETERNAL GURU SHOULD NOT BE IN THE PRESENCE OF SUCH ANTI-SIKH ACTIVITIES. THIS IS OFFENSIVE TO SIKHS ALL OVER THE WORLD. THIS FORUM IS THE VOICE OF SIKH YOUTH. LET IT BE HEARD.

    How Far?

i get wha ure sayin Khalsa Force jio, but im talking when it comes to drawing a fine line. Im sorry but people nowdays, compared to 300 years ago, are not self-willed or strong minded enough, to be able to control their thoughts and feelings enough to stay away from such indulgence. This is why we have problems when it comes to people controlling kaam and apne kissing, touching, having sexual relationships and so on. what i wud say to people is fine, if u feel the need to show ure expression of love towards one another, do so by not kissing, touching/feeling each other up and not having sex. But i think holding hands and an occasional hug, is nothing bad. Sorry if u disagree, but im being a realist here. I remember when i was a kid, i would be walking down the street and i would have to hold my brother and sisters hand and we were encouraged to do it and when i greet my friends or family, i give them a hug. Theres nothing lustful about it. Its different with a partner, but i reckon if people can refrain from kissing etc and just hug one another, then i think that shows that the intentions that the person has is true, not falsely drowned in lust. For those really stronged individuals who dont even hold hands or hug... good on u and i would encourage others to TRY to do the same. We dont know whats in peoples mind but thats a bigger subject. U seem pretty much Gurbani-orientated, loving Gurmukh of the Khalsa Panth and i see u as a treasure of this faith. But i dont know reli whats deep in ure mind... same applies for everyone i meet in this world, and everyone on this forum. But we cant always be paranoid and we have to give people some chances.
  8. dear me GO TO THE DIVAANS IF YOU WANT TO -- IF NOT, DONT. Simple as. Admin pleease monitor posts. People just go off topic.
  9. hmmm i dunno what the hells happening with this whole issue and to be honest im glad im not involved either because of all the politics ive heard regarding this issue. Just do my ardaas at home and wish for the bhalla of all. in terms of police walking in with shoes etc - reminds of a Smethwick Gurdwara commitee changeover...
  10. coz then they can jus go get another saroop bruv. oh and when will someone stop DTF from just simply "selling" saroops?????? u all go on about Ek Nivaas, but DTF need a smack up the chittarr too. Now for my two cents : Congratulations (thats sarcasm). It seems that thanks to the internet and Sikhs' weird obsession to make all our internal problems public, Ek Nivaas are doing a fantastic job of using this to their advantage. Of course, who is Lakha Singh to tell someone whether they can or cannot open a new Gurdwara?! But hold on, because everyone is at each others throats nowadays neway (i hear 10 Gurdwaras in Wolverhampton 'competing' with one another, especially those around Sedgley St), the Ek Nivaas lot can now go to the alternative competition Gurdwara commitees around Wolverhampton and Birmingham to gain support against the word of Lakha Singh, Bhai Sahib Mohinder Singh and others. Ek Niwas have found our weaknesses. They know them. They know them because Sikhs do their own beadbi and shame online. You only have to look at some of the issues on the net regarding Sikhs nowadays to see the sad sorry state of affairs the UK sangat in particular have made for themselves. We could have won this Ek Niwaas issue a long time ago but because we all fail to unite and decide to drift further and further apart airing our internal problems to the whole world, we are being played off one against the other by organisations like Ek Niwaas. So the blame lies with no one else, but ourselves. sarbat dha bhalla dhan dhan Guru Granth Sahib Jee
  11. singh jee, thats still not enough for some. give them a car.. but then they will also want petrol, tax, insurance and mot money as an incentive to come! never enough for some people.
  12. Beware of pakhandi babas... :| My suggestion is, ure on the wrong track jio. Ask the sangat what they want in that area because I believe the sangat should have that choice. I also have seen that what sangat wants differentiates depending on where they live. So just ask around. Get a suggestion box at Gurdwara and local community centre. Ask people straight out. Fill out questionnaires - give incentives like a chocolate bar or free ipods - in which case i'll be there to fill it out in a shot!
  13. Ayyyyyy no need to call them idiots, thats not very professional of you now is it. I say u should apologise to the sangat !! Im sorry - i wonder why it hit a nerve with u Kumi ... *Looks all nervous* I have not!! haha jokez. u make me laugh. ure avatar just cracks me up everytime too. Can never take u seriously coz of it, no offence! United we stand! ... divided, we are falling sangat jee...
  14. thanks 84 survivor - ure original post at the top was very articulately wrote unlike other idiots who opened previous threads on the issue. amazing difference between naievity and intellect. hope the matter gets resolved in a similar way.

  18. I see it is a test of ure own faith to be honest. If the cams block ure view and it annoys u ... u shud think to ureself "why does it annoy me?". Because the fact of the matter is that u wud rather see the keertani than close ure eyes in true meditation form and let the pure ras of the keertan indulge ure mind. as for cameras, i know there was a major event a few years ago. a singh filmed the whole thing... only realised after his equipment was faulty. There was also an event last year which was recorded on MD ... and the MD's turned out to be faulty. So as far as i know, the sevadars also do their best to make sure they have backups. It is annoyying, agreed, that theres so many tripods etc clouding ure way. But close ure eyes, and ignore it. Try it at the next one u go to and see how amazing it feels. I remember in the olden days when sevadars never reli used to request sangat to film... i remember Sant Baba Maan Singh coming down and there were like 15 cameras filming! that was worse! the atam ras is reli not as bad so be thankful. And i know myself how careful i am with my work and stuff i do - i have to have backups to the power of three just incase stuff mucks up!!! Always best to be safe. And documenting such events of commemoration is really important and the parchaar and keertan seva at these divaans are really amazing and should be spread worldwide. also, im sure it does say on the poster or something that they request all not to film etc for this reason so sevadars have done their bit. But from what i saw from the divaan i went to, Charanpreet Singh was working WITH all the people who were filming and recording. (another 2) I thouroughly enjoyed the divaan i went to and congratulate Charanpreet Singh and the rest for such a fantastic seva they have been gifted with and have been so successful with. bhulla chukka maaf
  19. B U M P ! Final few days left now!!!
  20. thats so kool :| in terms of volunteering schemes related to Sikhi... well any service (seva) you can do for the community is related to Sikhi. Help in hospitals, old peoples homes, community centres, anything like that. Dass used to volunteer with a childrens group. We used to take kids and pensioners out on canal boats for the day - all part of seva. So anything you can do for the good of others.. is all Sikhi.
