  1. Bhaji Im sure you may be right about the initial clash of dates between Vaisakhi and Easter, but im also pretty sure that the Nagar Kirtan was not held on the same day as Easter Sunday. Even if the Black community felt uncomfortable about the two events taking place on the same day - THERES NO REASON FOR THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR FROM THIS KID.
  2. YES he was Black. Dont want to make any assumptions as to why it could be relevant. All I know is that he purposely committed this act. He knew fully well what the implications could have been if he had injured or killed somebody - so how does he get away with 200 hours Community Service?? It really winds me up hearing about the sentencing.
  3. Im not saying he should have been beaten. Its the fact that he committed such ill behaviour purposely knowing the consequences of what could happen. Yet he walks away almost free from a result of his actions. He apparently came out of a Pub and went back into the Pub. There were so many witnesses as to what happened and still he literally gets away with NOTHING. OK maybe I should look on the positive side and remember that FORTUNATELY NOBODY WAS HURT IN THIS INCIDENT. Its the INTENT that bugs me though - how he casually carried this out and now walks free.
  4. This is Disgusting. I recall members of my family describing this exact incident to me when it happened at the Nagar Kirtan. They were part of the Sangat that day and witnessed this Thug deliberately accelerating through a dense crowd of all ages, including infants in prams. I can not believe he got away with community service and will still be attending University to probably claim a degree of some sort later on. As described by my family - he was totally aware of what he was doing and did not spare any thought to the malice he could have caused, had he injured anybody in the crowd. This sounds like a sick joke by the defence : described Ross as a “decent young man” and said he had behaved foolishly. Foolish does not even come close to the way this <banned word filter activated> behaved.
  5. Leamington Spa / Warwick Without a DOUBT :biggrin2: Ease of access to any other area in England. Brand new Gurdwara Sahib. Lots of prospect for the Youth here. Academically, you will find very good schools, colleges and Universities in the vicinity. Environment is very friendly. Economically, there is new development all around this area, in terms of newer houses, and infrastructure on the rise. Everything is conveniently close, but you have the added factor that there is plenty of PRIVACY here (which is important). Cost of living is much cheaper compared to down south. Crime rate is very low. (never thought of this factor until other members here started to criticise the Midlands Accents. There is NO accent affiliated with this area. Its Neutral and that goes for everybody in this region, not just apnaay). Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  6. I think the Sikh Channel did really well to report this last night. I can see why a few people here may think Dr Jagbir Singh Ji seemed as though he was "exaggerating" in his report, but I think he actually wanted to Highlight how Rough it was for the Homeless folks out there. He was trying to wake up the audience to show them that this is REALITY and its happening right now. Meaning that we need a Reaction and the best reaction would have to come in a Constructive form - providing SEWA for these helpless folks on the Streets. I was SHOCKED hearing that some folks have been in the same place for 2-3+ YEARS. There is a Live Phone In show tonight on the Sikh Channel - re: the same topic. Would be nice to see how we advance from here. Im sure theres plenty of Sangat ready to help here.
  7. "sachasoorma" Bhaji, I understand your point with regards to the limited Presence of Youth at the Gurdwarae these days. This is a challenge not just in Leamington & Warwick faces, but many other areas. Its a common topic on Panth Times Show week in week out on the Sikh Channel - Sangat TV also highlight the same issue. The Stage Secretary did announce that there is a "Learn & Go" Session being held this week (Weds) - this session is typically aimed at Youth. Asking them to congregate and share knowledge / experience with each other - these are regularly held events at Leamington & Warwick. This weeks topic will focus on "Lavaan Ceremony". The importance of the Chaar Lavaan for a Wedding and what it means for a couples future. Generally, there is a decent amount of all age ranges that come to the Gurdwara on a regular basis - more so for Gurpurabs / other auspicious occassions - however we would also like to actively involve more youth and see them there out of there own free will. For TWO Towns - Warwick & Leamington - we have done well to keep it at 1 Global Gurdwara Sahib. We are not geographically as big as Coventry, but we could have easily have 2 / 3 Gurdwarae in different areas of the town by now. But NO, we have 1 HUB where all of the Sangat come together. Your going to get different types of people there, hence "Your elder generation at the Back type of people" - but everyone puts up with each other and tries to move forward. 8. “GurpsSinghAujla” Thanks Bhaji. I equally respect yourself and everyone here. We are all the same, we share the same emotions, just some of us share our feelings a bit more. Maybe you are right about speaking the truth in the heat of the moment, maybe not? Im still in the opinion of the Stage Secretary being a decent person. He made a Gaalthi about not mentioning any shaheeds names, but was rightfully corrected as we have pointed out already. He is very knowledgeable and goes the extra mile to share his Giyaan with the Sangat. My view is that he has a clean heart and respects everybody that speaks to him. Its your choice whatever you decide to think of him, or even not. I agree with you that we have ONE ultimate JUDGE. There’s no escaping the Truth then, its either UP or DOWN for us when our time comes to an end. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  9. "Guru Panth Khalsa" I accept your views and have answered questions to the best of my knowledge. Im not here to challenge yourself or anybody, more so the opposite (especially lie - as i refrain from such acts). I want to stand beside you all, not Against you to create any divide. I'll firstly answer your question: NOW ANSWER ME.... will mentioning the names of those who gave up everything for you really divide the Sangat? I agree with you, NO...mentioning any Shaheeds names in front of the Sangat would not create a divide. If you recall, Amrik Singh Gill also corrected the Stage Secretary in front of the Sangat - and im sure that the Stage Secretary has now realised his Gaalthi and will learn from it for the future. In fact, Amrik Singh Gill spoke so passionately about the Shaheed Singhs - that I would now find it hard to believe that Anybody would not now remeber these Brave people. Kuldeep Singh Dhesi also had a jab at the Secretary Sahib for not mentioning the Shaheeds names - so im sure now he will take this into consideration for next time. As you know - we Sikhs are very forgiving - even though theres so much Pride people have - we still Denounce this Pride and thank people like Amrik Singh, Kuldeep Singh and fellow speakers. Im sure the Stage Secretary have enough Sense to take the hints and change their thoughts. I personally think that the Stage Secretary at Leamington and Warwick is very good at this job, as he has plenty of knowledge on the Sikh Kaum - his speeches for every occasion on Stage are well composed and he doesnt just string a load of words together to fill up time. Im not being funny, but i know Amritdhaari people that would fit well into a committee background, as they would take on daily duties and carry out Sewa for the benefit of Sangat and Gurdwara. On the other hand, I know some Amritdhaari people that are unable to practice what they believe - some that dont partake in any Sewa when they go to the Gurdwara. I can give exactly the same example for "Moneh" Sangat too. So i dont entirely agree with you that each member of a Gurdwara Committee has to be Amritdhaari. I know where you are coming from though - you would like the members of the committee to have some remote Maryada on the Sikh Kaum and Practice what is being Preahced. My fear is that we would not like to drive away Non Amritdhaari individuals from partaking in Gurdwara Sewa. Im saying this with my hand on my heart - from what i have seen from each and every member of the Leamington and Warwick Committee (each and every year) - they all have best intentions for the running of the Gurdwara Sahib. IF YOU Disagree - this is where Difference in Opinion comes in - Where people are adamant to have things done thier own way. Its very harsh to label the current committee "Anti Panthic" - thats such a bold statement. Also - Im not directing an insult in your direction or trying to belittle you in any way: BUT Why did you NOT stand up in front of the Sangat on Sunday when the Stage Secretary announced that NOBODY has every vowed to hold an Akhand Paath for Indra Gandhi??? Surely - this was your Opportunity to Challenge the Committee and point out that they are Wrong? How come you quietly sat down with the rest of Us & did not Contest the Statement made from the Stage Secretary. I did say in my earlier posts that a Jakaraa was Voiced straight after to Accept the Stage Secretarys claims. How come you have still carried out these accusations over the Internet & Not in the Sangat??? Im just curious to know why? Because people reading here are 50 / 50 as to believe these harsh and unrealistic claims. Please dont take this personally - but I think the downfall of any committee will Be Statements that you have made. These "old men" have had their turn, you should look to the future now and get ready to be part of the Gurdwara committees for yourself. Make your mark then - when you have the chance to organise the Gurdwara on a daily basis. I dont know if you have already been on the committee already? "GurpsSinghAujla" Also, the first thing i think of when someone mentions the Leamington Gurdwara to me is (apart from its grand design) the amazing art work...the massive photos of Banda Singh Bahadur and Mai Bhago (in the stairwells)...i have not seen such grand paintings with attached timelines in any other Gurdwara in the UK....so, what message are the committee members trying to give, when they say that there is no way they will allow anyone to speak about anyone but the Gurus? To me, the message is that they built this Gurdwara Sahib as a tourist attraction. Almost as a museum. As a gallery. As a picture of sikhism to the mainstream. Forgetting the very meaning of a Gurdwara sahib....that it is our Gurus house. End of. What a very bad judgement that committee member made who said no one but the Gurus would be spoken about... I half sympathise where you are coming from - but I dont think anybody treats Leamington & Warwick Gurdwara Sahib as a museum. Yes, the paintings are Amazing and have Great presence. Maybe its best to have a one on one convo with that particular member of the committee to ask his views on the great icons, rather then speak about his judgement here - where he cannot defend himself? I dont know, just a thought. Please do not take offence to any opinions / views i have left, these are not my intentions. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  10. This Thread should now be closed PLEASE. This morning, in the Main Darbaar of Leamington & Warwick Gurdwara Sahib - The stage secretary stood infront of the whole Sangat and confirmed that this PROPOGANDA was FLASE. YES - THIS POST REGARDING THE LEAMINGTON & WARWICK GURDWARA SAHIB VOWING TO HOLD AN AKHAND PAATH FOR INDRA GANDHI WAS NEVER STATED BY ANY MEMBER OF THE SANGAT / COMMITTEE / LOCAL RESIDENCE. Straight after - a member of the Sangat Clearly Voiced a LOUD JAKAARAA and the whole Sangat replied with SAT SRI AKAAL. Meaning the statement made by the Stage Secretary was ACCEPTED. Members of THE SIKH CHANNEL - Channel 840 SKY TV had joined the Leamington & Warwick Sangat this morning in rememberance for the Beloved Shaheeds and had Spoken clearly on Stage in front of the Whole Local Sangat - to announce that Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh, Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh, Shaheed Bhai Sukha And Bhai Jinda are Never to be forgotten and have honoured the sikh faith. Also to note that ALL Shaheeds in Sikhi are NEVER to be forgotten. The Sikh Channel Members also urged all Gurdware globally to hold the same Akhand Paaths in rememberance of these Brave individuals. Certain speakers did state that Pictures should be displayed around the Gurdwara to remind us all who these Brave icons were. This brings me back to my point directed to Guru Panth Khalsa - you should have approached the Committee for an Exhibition in the Basement of the Gurdwara instead of writing these mis-leading posts. Theres always going to be differences in opinion, but this morning, the whole of the Leamington and Warwick Sangat sat together and took part in a rememberance Akhand Paath, followed by Speeches and Shabad Kirtan. UNITY IS WHAT WE NEED - UNITY LIKE THIS. Nothing i have said in any of my posts is aimed to cause personal offence to anybody reading. A BEANTHI to ADMINISTRATORS of this site - PLEASE KINDLY DELETE THIS THREAD - Confirmation has been given that it is a LIE (HEADING STATEMENT OF THIS THREAD) Leamington & Warwick Sangat do NOT wish to have FALSE BAISTHY done openly in Public. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fatheh
  11. "Guru Panth Khalsa" I can not answer any questions directed to the current Warwick & Leamington Committee, the only input i have given so far is of my own opinion and what i have witnessed with my own experience in relation to any topic here discussed - I have told the Truth as best as i know it. Your right, you will have to ask the current committee themselves, they will respond to you and give you their own views on the topics. I recall the Stage Secretary saying on stage last sunday - we are unable to post any images in the Gurdwara Sahib other then the Guru Jis. Other then this - i do not know im afraid. I have shame, yes I do know what that is actually - so thanks for the Patronising comment (im not here to challenge you bhaji / bhenji) I actually have a better suggestion - really what should have been YOUR response to the current committe would have been: DEAR COMMITTEE, PLEASE WOULD YOU ALLOW US TO HOLD A SMALL EXHIBITION IN HALL NUMBER 4 (BASEMENT) IN MEMORY OF OUR BELOVED SHAHEEDS. A SLIDE SHOW FOLLOWED BY A SMALL PRESENTATION PERHAPS (Stage Secretary could have announced it on Stage after the Bhog of the Akhand Paath)?? I personally would have asked the committee if they would allow this as an option to their response. Thats where i stand. If you were granted permission for the exhibition - which im sure you would have been, as the Akhand Paath is held regularly every year - i would be glad to help organise the exhibition with you, as im sure many other Youth would like to be involved too. I dont believe anybody is "milk washed". Nobodies perfect - we all make mistakes. I personally have made plenty, but not intentionally. We learn from them - we move on stronger. Maybe the committee will say something on this topic? Maybe not? We will have to see. I personally dont think its fair to call them a "sharabi" committee either. Again - coming back to differences in my earlier posts - you cant tarnish everybody with the same brush. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  12. "Guru Panth Khalsa" I must reiterate - i DO NOT belong to any party / side / organisation I do not favour the current Warwick & Leamington Committee over anybody else I can think of more than 1 Amritdhaari person in the current Warwick and Leamington Committee Im starting to think that your views are now biased - but why the negativity? (Rhetorical question) but i would not be surprised if you answered that. Instead of repeatedly posting questions for the Warwick & Leamington Committee here - would it not be better to approach them in person? You have started off on a particular topic and then moved off on to XYZ topics too - all directed to the current committee. Your answers would come from themselves and im sure they would give you some sort of response. None of anything i have stated in all my posts is intended to cause offence, so please dont take anything personally. I just want to keep the Warwick & Leamington Gurdwara Sahib "in tact" and not mis-feed the entire world the wrong message of our beloved Gurdwara Sahib. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  13. "Guru Panth Khalsa" Bhenji / Bhaji I cannot tarnish the whole current commitee with the same brush. I personally know a few members of the current committee and believe they are decent human beings. Those i am talking about, do their best to make sure the Gurdwara Sahib is running smoothly on a regular basis. For those i do not know, i can not speak about. I was at the election that you are referring to with regards to swearing etc - personally i thought it was disgusting from many people - young and old - they way they were standing in the Darbaar saahib and raising their voices in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. I do not agree with that behaviour at all. I will be the 1st person to lie down in front of anybodies car - for them to run me over as many times as they like - this is if they think they will be allowed to bring any meat or sharaab into a proposed function hall (Old Gurdwara Shaib). I will still get UP and say NO to any Meat and Sharaab that comes into any hall. Meat and Sharaab will be strictly out of bounds for this proposed function hall. Im sure the whole sangat can get together and maintain the same stance. I think the idea behind the change of the current selection process of a new committee was to make sure that voting was more accurrate as opposed to previous years. Asking local sangat to make a photo id card, thus proving that they actually come from the local town & getting a majority vote for new members of a newly selected committee. I personally have made a few suggestions to the current committee and they have listened and took those changes on board. I've also been rejected a few suggestions too. I only knew when i sat down and talked to them personally. I wouldnt say its a shambles, its more about COMMUNICATION. Talking and reasoning with one another will get voices heard and opinions aired much more effectively then Internet posts! I mean this with Pyaar. Im guessing that you are part of the YOUTH, which is the same as me. All i say is stick together as its our turn next. We need to the past behind us and work to a solid future. Look at how lucky we are with our Beautiful Gurdwara Sahib, its the key and Hub of our local and wider future. Stay in Chardi Kalaa The Bhog for the Shaheedi Akhand Paath Shaib is happening tomorrow (as it is a yearly regular Akhand Paath in Warwick and Leamington). Atend and unite together to remember the Shaheeds, pay respects and learn for the future. Bhul Chukk Maaf Karnaa Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  14. Just to clarify please. I belong to NO side / organisation / party. I am Nobody, Nothing. Im just a member of the local Warwick & Leamington Sangat. Its hurts me to see accusations / negative Posts related to our Beloved Gurdwara Sahib online for the whole world to view. This is not directed to anybody, so please dont take it personally. Bhul Chukk Maaf karna ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  15. "Guru Panth Khalsa" Bhaji / Bhenji Have you been to discuss this with the GPC Warwick and Leamington Spa - In Person?
  16. "Guru Panth Khalsa" Newbie POSTER on this forum - However an OLD READER on this forum Ive been Registered for ages here. My post was to tell the TRUTH. I have ZERO to do with the GPC of Warwick and Leamington. Im just a Sewadaar like the rest of the Sangat. Just want to tell the readers the reality of our Beloved Gurdwara. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna Ji Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
  17. Im a local member of Warwick and Leamington Sikh Gurdwara Sangat. I can clarify to ALL readers of this post, that words have been fabricated and exaggerated to mis-lead peoples views on how the Warwick and Leamington Sikh Gurdwara is run on a daily basis. I kindly urge ALL UK Sikh Sangat NOT to get too Excited by the material in this Thread. Im not here to call anybody a liar, as I don't believe i have the right to judge anybody (much the opposite). I am merely saying that there are certain differences in opinion between some members of the local Sangat here in Warwick and Leamington. To be honest - WHERE IS THERE NOT ANY DIFFERENCE OF OPINION - ANYWHERE THESE DAYS? How long can people differ with each other? What sort of example are you setting for the youngsters? Youth of Warwick & Leamington are Blessed to know that the Future is Bright and also feel that there is plenty of opportunity to LOVE one another and flourish with CHARDI KALAA. DIFFERENCE IN OPINION: This inevitably causes minor conflict between individuals. We are fortunate to have a MAJORITY UNITED LOCAL SANGAT that are SEHMAT of each others opinions and respect each other as a whole - which is how Sangat should be everywhere. I only look back two days ago to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jis Gurpurab, to witness how the entire Local Sangat stuck together to support each other for such an auspicious occasion. We are UNITED as a whole and wish to remain UNITED and GROW STRONGER to educate our YOUTH, which are fortunate to have such a Beautiful Gurdwara in the Local Community. Coach loads of people from ALL DIFFERENT Backgrounds still come to visit the Warwick & Leamington Gurdwara on a DAILY / WEEKLY Basis - each and every person walks away with LOVE in their Hearts and a Strong message to forward on to their Family & Friends - This paints more of a realistic Picture of the current State of our Beloved Local Gurdwara. Im not here to offend anybody, just to tell you the Truth. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karna Ji. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ke Fateh
