to be honest pajee i been like that for 9+ years, but i think that what seva is, even if i dont get nothing must at least remember vaheguru for the body eh gave me, for the air he gives me, i could be a dog. cat whatever Also where else can one go anyway? what are the alternatives to trying to be a good servant, alternatives are what alcohol, drugs, partying, i rather do what i do now than those things and remember carry on and on and on, one day you will be rewarded the longer u have to wait the better it will be once you get that reward, hang in there.

fateh a Christian friend of mine who has gone through a hard patch needs reassuring that gods support is the only support where one can be happy. does anyone have a link where i can get some English katha explaining the greatness of remembering vaheguru. it cant be biased towards Sikhism as i just want to help him become stronger in his faith and meditate more and help him overcome his current traumatic experience. i dont want it to seem i am out to convert. would appreciate some help. following on from the discussion about kirpan and aeroplanes i was wondering if people had any problems going to far east countries particularly places like Bali and Egypt where they have suffered bomb attacks. i hear security is tight in these countries now and was wondering what would happen if a amritdhari visited these places.[/color

from looking at the stall it clearly states all profits/money go to seva parchaar which is important as i guess the gurdwaras wont support these young singhs doing such seva. all that hard work to produce sell all over the country and you provide comments liek the above. also when i bought the CD it was only £5, most cd's are about 12.99 so not sure how much profit they are making exactly. and the aim from what i can gather is to eductae young people how singhs and singhnee have done shaheedi, if u dont give them soemthign appealing how will they find out, i cant see that many young ppl coming to the gurdwara, who knows maybe for them that could be the starting point of coming into sikhi

what is the difference between Bajar Kurheit and Kurheit? i always understood the 4 things i.e. adulttery, eating meat/fish/eggs, cutting hair and tobbaco/alcohol consumption as bajar kurheit, so what is just kurheit as i haev heard many katha vachaks refer to it. or are they referring to same thing?

welcome david ... my advice would be dont try to get too much into knowledge just yet. if you want to learn about god then remember him and eh will bestow all the knowledge you want according to your efforts. try to get up early as possible (some devotees will get up like 1am) but be sensible and see what you can manage. sit in a quiet room and repeat " wa - heh - guu - ruu" that one word in 4 sections to make it esy for you. this means "oh wonderful lord" .... contiune to repat this and focus your mind on one god, feel him inside you adn outside you, feel the energy everywhere. repeat this as much as you can walkign aroudn in the day etc. this word "gurmantar" was bestowed by the gurus to the world. and while doing this read translations of the scriptures and read scriptures as much as you can. furthemore go to the gurdwara, bow to guru granth sahib jee "holy scriptures" and in the most humble way ask to be shown the truth about the almighty, i ahev no doubt guru granth sahib jee will guide you. good luck

gurfateh keep strong in reading gurbani and doing simran, also read history and sikh philisophy and when someone does tease you or say soemthing then you will able to give them a good answer so they will understand the concept of sikhi. In the past sikhs have faced many obstacles and so many stories where ppl have questioned sikhi and after finding out about sikhi bow down. guru nanak dev jee faced the most stubborn, egoistic and nasty people whom after having discussions with all bowed and said your message is truly universal and true. Now dont think we cant do that too, difference of sikhi and other faiths is guru jee gifted us with what he had so if we do simran, seva and part then we too get that charisma and then when you talk too people they will all respect you. I would recommend you do 30mins of mool mantar everyday if you dotn alreadya dn do ardaa that guru jee stay with you all the time then no doubt you will be ok, and as i said read about sikhi to learn why it is universal and for mankind, then maybe your school mates will undersatdn you

people dont eat cheese as it contains animal rennet,e asyw ay round that is when you buy cheese make sure it says vegetarian, package will usually have a green V sign. you can drink milk etc. as long as you dont eat meat, fish or eggs your ok. in regards to your situation at home i.e. parents , dont worry your not the only one, many ppl on this forum go through such things, onyl way is to do part, get up early as you can and repeat waheguru, do seva at gurdwara and never boast about your part, seva etc and live humbly, then happiness will be atracted to you and you problems resolves them selves. remember once you come close to guru jee he comes close to you and your affairs are his problem and you can live care free

mmm, interesting article. I cant repsond to the whole due to time but your first paragraph says we are waiting for someone to come back..mm not sure where you got this from. The first verse of our guru finishes by saying "you were true and present before the ages begun, you were true and present during the ages commenced, you are true and present now and you will be true and present in the future". You is referring to the almight vaheguru (god) so sikhs are not waiting for anyone cause that entity is always here

so what do you guys think about doing akhandparts and taking guru granth sahib jee to homes? should this be allowed if after the akhandpart, maybe not striaghtaway but eventually meat will be cooked and alcohol consumed?

well at times someone may really enjoy kirtan like you did however others within the same kirtan may not be getting much out of it and therefore do toehr things. Its not fair for you to say that becasue i was enjoying kirtan everyone shopuld aswell, kirpa can happen to someone or everyone a.t different times. And yeah people may have been hanging around but thats up to them is it not?

I was told recently that Guru Gobind Singh Jee did bachan to sikhs in 1705 durng battle time that sikhs would have to wait 300 years for raaj, is this bachan true? and if so 300 years from 1705 is this year

i have also heard from reliable sources that this camp is just a dos hole, no real learning of sikhi, also the nangs just use the camp to convert people into druggies and meat eating so they can justify thier actions and feel better. just go to the khalsa camp or boss camp, or both as they dont clash
