  1. All very well, and I have agreed about what we should accept now. But, the point is about when Guru Nanak Ji was here, it's like saying that God had come down on earth as him. This is similar to ones claiming moses was god, christ was god..etc.. If that was so, then who was he praying to, praising and talking about ? गावहि सनकादि साध सिधादिक मुनि जन गावहि अछल छला ॥ Gāvahi sankāḏ sāḏẖ siḏẖāḏik mun jan gāvahi acẖẖal cẖẖalā. Sanak and Brahma's sons, the Saadhus and Siddhas, the silent sages and humble servants of the Lord sing the Praises of Guru Nanak, who cannot be deceived by the great deceiver. गावहि गुण बरन चारि खट दरसन ब्रहमादिक सिमरंथि गुना ॥ Gāvahi guṇ baran cẖār kẖat ḏarsan barahmāḏik simranth gunā. The four castes and the six Shaastras sing His Glorious Praises; Brahma and the others contemplate His Virtues. गावै गुण महादेउ बैरागी जिनि धिआन निरंतरि जाणिओ ॥ Gāvai guṇ mahāḏėo bairāgī jin ḏẖiān niranṯar jāṇio. Shiva, detached and beyond desire, sings the Glorious Praises of Guru Nanak, who knows the Lord's endless meditation. त्रेतै तै माणिओ रामु रघुवंसु कहाइओ ॥ Ŧarėṯai ṯai māṇio rām ragẖūvans kahāio. In the Silver Age of Traytaa Yuga, You were called Raam of the Raghu dynasty. दुआपुरि क्रिसन मुरारि कंसु किरतारथु कीओ ॥ Ḏuāpur krisan murār kans kirṯārath kīo. In the Brass Age of Dwaapur Yuga, You were Krishna; You killed Mur the demon and saved Kans. कलिजुगि प्रमाणु नानक गुरु अंगदु अमरु कहाइओ ॥ Kalijug parmāṇ Nānak gur angaḏ amar kahāio. In the Iron Age, the Dark Age of Kali Yuga, You are known and accepted as Guru Nanak, Guru Angad and Guru Amar Das. महादेउ गुण रवै सदा जोगी जति जंगम ॥ Mahāḏėo guṇ ravai saḏā jogī jaṯ jangam. Shiva, the Yogis and the wandering hermits sing His Praises forever. ब्रहमा गुण उचरै जिनि हुकमि सभ स्रिसटि सवारीअ ॥ Barahmā guṇ ucẖrai jin hukam sabẖ sarisat savārīa. His Praises are sung by Brahma, who created the entire universe by God's Command. We can never find out that whether he was god himself or not, perhaps whats more important is that he left a method (sikhism) by which we can attain god. This is what the shabad tells us.
  2. OK , I will try to put it a little more simply- Firstly, there is nothing wrong with your quotes at all. I agree that ''satgur jee and akaal purakh vaheguru are one and the same'' Remember that the words spoken originally by Nanak ji and which are now in the SGGS ji are the words of GOD and from GOD. The shabad is the guru, we must remember. If explaining this to a kid, it's like saying that GOD spoke the shabads 'VIA' Guru Nanak ji when he was here. The 'WHEN HE WAS HERE' is important. Because NOW he is not here, he is fully merged into the ONE GOD, he is now GOD and God is him. He also taught us to be jeevan mukt, which is being liberated whilst alive. I'm sure that most will believe he was jivan mukt very early in his life and was therefore merged. BUT he was still here in a present form of human, therefore physically he was not merged. This was the part of him that did the praying to the supreme. Now, you should understand that there was the huge merged Nanak ji as well as the physical sargun Nanak that spoke the God's word. The shabads above all refer to bearing this in mind, YES he is now God and God is him, because of total merging. I hope you understand what I mean because I've tried to keep it simple. No one is claiming they know more than others, it is al about understanding. I can clearly undertstand why you are saying what you are, whilst at the same time I can understand what I'm saying. A Drop can be merged with the Ocean, BUT it Can NOT be the Ocean.
  3. Another little point to think about is, that if the Gurus were God, then who were they praying to ? Who were they meditating to ? Who was Guru Gobind Singh ji doing ardaas to ? The very fact that Guru Gobind Singh Ji makes an example of past heroes of Hindu scriptures as becoming obsessed with themselves and believing themselves to be God indicates as much that the idea that Guru and God are literally the same entity is about as non-Sikkh an idea as you can have.
  4. Sorry the grammar point is not referring to any quote, but the whole Granth. references are for Guru as teacher or brahmgyani, and references for Guru as the ONE supreme God.
  5. I believe what the op asked. I believe the gurus were teacher and guides and not the ONE himself. I don't for a moment believe that the omnipresent nirankaar would take birth as a human. The gurus starting from Nanak ji are not deities, that when put together make up the ONE lord. One should look at gurbani grammar and note the different ways that Guru is spelt. There are 3 different terms used with either no aukhad under the r, or with one or two ! The shabad uttered by Guru Nanak dev ji and the following Nanaks is the WORD of th ONE GURU. This is what the shabads quoted refer to and not a physical guru form. Please review and you will hopefully realise what I mean. The answers are all within us and in the shabad.- This is why you don't need to take anyone elses word for it !
  6. Lemon juice and khee mixed in hot milk. Also get some 'VOCALZONES' which are some lozenges that a chemist can order for you if they don't stock them.
  7. Shall we just rely on this and ignore the SGGS ji ? Was this Guru Nanak's message ? I don't for a minute think that God himself had to come in a life form and address us in the form of Nanak. I believe that Nanak under the hukam and divine will was here to teach and guide, and spoke the word or shabad of the akaal purakh. This does mean that there was some form of the almighty within him that gave this message, but it does NOT mean that it was ALL God himself here in a human form disguise !!!
  8. This is talking about Guru as in the reference to akaal purakh. Remember Guru can mean any of our gurus and it can also mean the ONE ALMIGHTY, just like govind,raam,har....etc.. There are many names used to describe and the raam name does NOT mean raam chandar the lover of Sita!!!! Guru Nanak wrote 'Ek onkaar'' NOT to describe himself. He is not the akaal puraakh and the ONE almighty in human form!!! Read the mool mantar carefully. God does not come into human form with bounadries and limits. Don't get confused by calling a human form as THE GOD. We all have God within us, but we don't represent him we represent his creation. I don't think Guru Gobind Singh ji said 'not to worship him as God'' out of humility. This just goes against the principles of gurmat teaching in my opinion.
  9. Tell yourself that you are going to wake up at amritvela before going to sleep. Ask waheguru for guidance and help to get up for him. Then you should find that you automatically wakeat that hour and don't feel tired. I'm not amritdhari either, but getting up at amritvela is a priority.
  10. They do mock. It' the way most of the punjabis are. They want to know what paath you do, how often you do it. I mean they know very well that you probably do paath, which is why they ask. Otherwise, they would say or tell you ''thu paath kariya kar''' I mean what if you say 'NO', then what are they going to say- They are just gonna tell you that you should. If you know they are being cheeky and mocking, then you could just say ''sometimes or when I can'' if they are just curious, then you should quickly answer ''hanji'' and immediately followed by ''thusi vi karde,??'' then ask ''how often or when'' -- This is sure to make them think before asking next time !!!
  11. WLS is right in a sense. There are definetly more punjabi jatts in closer populations whereas the UK is more diverse. The west coast does have more desi jatts than the east coast. There are also many patterns throughout the mid-americas. I don't think that anywhere over here is as diverse and varied in sikhs as you get in the UK. Very far from it.
  12. Often the term 'hind di chadhur' is used. Our Guru gave his head and life to save the hindus. The kashmiri pandits came to him when they were under threat from moghuls because they wanted to ask him 'who could represent them and try save their sacred hindu tikka and thread''. Remember, it was the very young Gobind Rai that said '' Don't be confused trying to think who to appoint, who is better to represent them than you my father ?'' Self volunteering to sacrifice your life not to save your family or your own, but to save the hindus that were under unjust threat and oppression.
  13. Wel we shouldn't because we don't marry our chacha's, thiyaas or mama's child like these inbred pakis do. So we shouln't encounter these deformaties and illnesses on their scale. But if you know of an apna that ever starts to doubt asnd may believe that some eveil nazaar or tuhnnha- voodoo has been done on them, then it is our duty to reeassureand guide them on the path of OUR GURU. They need to believe in OUR GURU and have all their faith in that and that only, not some pandit or exorcist or falannaa baba.
  14. Yes of course we should be worried. These guys are making money just by a placebo method. I mean if you talk to anyone of these victims and give them a psychological boost, they will feel better but not cured. Because the guy will want them to come back to pay him some more!!! This jinn stuff is just rubbish. We don't need to worry because Guru Granth Sahib ji keeps us well away from this crap. Besides, sikhism does NOT acknowledge this evil and fake healing, we are well above that if you keep your faith in the Guru Granth Sahib ji. It really pisses me off that this guy just like hindu pandits i making 60 bucks an hour and it's something that we can all do. He isn't no special healer or anything, he's just a smart bloke using psyschlogical manipulation and giving the victims what they want to hear and feel. We have our own sikhs that fall for this crap, and it always happens when one refuses to accept HUKAM. Let the hukam be what it is, even when dark days come over us. But too easily we go looking for an excuse and some black magic to blame. When in reality, there is no such evil spririts. If our Sants and babas could make more awareness of these pakhandees, then people wouldn't fall for it.
  15. Don't fall for the BNP sympathy trick. They will try and get support from sikhs as this will do them favours. Remember that most sikh youth are born and bred in UK compared to paki youth. The BNP also lured some blacks in a few years back. I'm sure some of the BNP representatives were actually kalaay. This was all a trick to get some kaalaay in to boost their image. They will do the same with sikhs. It's good that they know that these pakis are the real ghandh that give the whole asian people a bad name. BTW. You guys talking about SP. Listen, SP were the real deal to start off with but they needed bigger numbers to tackle the panther and muslim gangs. So they recruited as any college sikhs as they could from around the midlands. With this came some of the regular sharabi youth that we get everywhere. It was only when a few of these started some drunken brawls in pubs and clubs that SP began to get a bad name. But these street youths were of high value because they could locate the girls in trouble first hand by the word on the street. S yes, there were some bad drunken youth involved. BUT they still helped with the issues being addressed even if a few fights happened between them. I was in UK in the 80's and now live in Vancouver..I knew the SP and the goings on quite well as I was based with the smethwick SP. Yes they are all grown up with families like myself now, but it's a shame that the next generation could not continue, whereas the pakis have just grown in their criminal activities. It's quite sad for me to hear about this and that it is still going on back there in UK. You guys need to do something. I mean you have internet and everythig now- so you should not have problems recruiting. Whereas SP had to roam colleges and pubs to pick up our tough punjabi youths.
  16. Yes the Victoria and Albert museum is really worth a visit and see Maharaja Ranjit singh's golden throne and many other weapons. Shepherds bush Grudwara is where Udaam Singh stayed fro a while and where he used to attend regularly. You could also visit the Black Museum at scotland yard where the gun used by Udaam Singh at Caxton hall is kept.
  17. There are many places that you can buy it from but you will have to ask around. There are legal odour emitting sprays etc... that don't fall under the firearms legislation and some of these advertisers usually have some illegal CS sprays to sell you under the counter !!...you know what I mean. There are plenty of US sites that sell them and you can order these and see if they arrive. If customs does not inspect the package then there is no problem. Why on earth would you want the CS specifically for ? I think the penalty is too high to take the risk, it's not worth 6 months. If you really have some bad dudes around you that need some spraying then why not make your own legal version. You simply buy an aeosol kit with a powerful atomiser which people buy to make their own perfumes..etc..BUT you simply put in some hardcore red chilli extracts in there !!!! This will be legal and better than pepper sprays.
  18. I know, you keep mentioning your khes in your post and how you don't want to cut it. Who said anything about cutting it ?? I agree with jangal da, and you are probably looking for an excuse to cut your case. Look, listen, I will be straight here... If you feel like cutting it, then just do it ! I think that if you've actually thought about it or considered it, then you are half way there anyway. So you may as well just cut it and then see if you feel better. It may help to take the weight of the world that you feel you have of your head.!!!
  19. I agree, pronounce as it is written. Don't bring dialects into it. What is more important is to notice the grammar of words. This is important especially when referiing to Gur and guru.
  20. I'm not sure that he would have been considered a great historian as well as a scholar if this was true. He would simply be someone who got lucky by finding such bag and that would help conclude his research !! I don't think so and find it hard to believe because researchers do not go bywhat they find in a bag !!!! Anyway, these accounts in PPP for Banda Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh ji..etc.etc... have been put together from many persian, mughal and sikh sources. I woudl assume that we are getting the majority of information in good faith and accuracy in his sense.
  21. We can't just believe what we want to believe !! We should read and study as many historical texts as we can before making up our own mind. We should take it in and then move forward, rather than rejecting what we don't agree with at the first instance. There are many other accounts of meat eating and mahaprashaad, besides jhatka is done openly at hazoor sahib. I don't think it's wise to go into them now due to forum guidelines. As for the opium, well this is one of the oldest painkillers and still is today. Warriors in the jungle using raw opium to alleviate extreme pain symptoms is NOT drug abuse or recreational 'doddha' use is it ?? Gurmat does not say anything about medicines or to abstain from using, but it instructs us not to play with mind altering chemicals which is simple abuse. Study as many historical texts as possible and then put the information in line with gurmat from SGGS. Then make up your mind.
  22. If you try it and get up between 2am and 4am and do naam simran, you will feel the 'magic' as I like to call it. Myself and many others have tried doing simran at other times throughout the day, but no time is ever the same as amrit vela. I used to think that it doesn't really matter because you have to find the time that suits your lifestyle ans workstyle. ie people that work nights for example. However, I can now guarantee that this is the time that Guru Nanak Dev ji tells us about. It is definetly the heavenly time. ਫੇਰਿਕਿਅਗੈਰਖੀਐਜਿਤੁਦਿਸੈਦਰਬਾਰੁ॥ Fer kė agai rakẖī▫ai jiṯ ḏisai ḏarbār. Fer ke agai rakhai jit desai darbar muho ke bolan boliai jit sun dhare pyar Amrit vela sach nou vidayie vichaar Then, what should be placed before His where-by His court may be seen? ਮੁਹੌ ਕਿ ਬੋਲਣੁ ਬੋਲੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੁਣਿ ਧਰੇ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ Muhou kė bolaṇ bolī▫ai jiṯ suṇ ḏẖare pi▫ār. Which words should we utter with our mouths by hearing which, He may begin to bear us love? <a class="dict" href="http://www.srigranth...;ਿਤ ਵੇਲਾਸਚੁਨਾਉਵਡਿਆਈਵੀਚਾਰੁ॥ Amriṯ velā sacẖ nā▫o vadi▫ā▫ī vīcẖār. Early in the morning utter the True Name and reflect upon God's greatness. The shabad above tells me that what can a pappi like me offer and give to the lord. You know we all want to be forgiven for all the mistakes we have made and make. The shabad simply says that there are NO offerings that we can make, but what we can do is make an effort to wake up. Yes, just wake up and remember by uttering his name.- That's ALL he asks for what I can offer. Therefore, I find that if I can't even be bothered to make an effort to get out of the rajai at that heavenly time, then how dare I ask for all the peace and joys in this world !!!! You MUST do it, which is why it is part of rehat.
  23. Was Ranbo a nickname for 'Ranjit' ? Apna bendhaa bruuaaaah!!!!
  24. Ha hehe hehe ..... :stupidme: :excited: Yeh, It probably was a trick question !! I have often wondered why jatts really believe that they are superior. Why don't the other castes do that ? Anyway there is hardly any 'true' jatts around that do any farming, and here in the west they are all in completely different trades. But they still believe they have the jatt archetype in them, and in reality they couldn't last 1 hour doing any khethi.!! OR is it the fact that they invented the 'bhangra' and feel they have the sole rights.
