They have lots of Gian they have attained from Mahapurakhs and now when an attempt is made to pass that diamond like Gian on to the future generations the Seva is being stopped. There are other coloured Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Saroops but why are the coloured Vishram Pothis printed by Baba Darshan Singh Ji Mallehwal (Damdami Taksaal) being stopped? From what I know, Giani Kuldeep Singh Jee at Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara gives Taksali Santhia of both Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee and Sri Dasam Granth. He's a Nihang Singh who took his Vidya from Taksaal. Very humble and amazing Gursikh. From what I know, most of the Taksali and Nihang Singhs as well as many of the AKJ Singhs take Santhia from him.

The Dastar style doesn't really matter as far as I know. Tie a Dastar that is clean in terms of dirt and in terms of Lars so that it looks nice.
