  1. I don't blame them though. :D Seeing how well Punjabis are doing here in the west, it makes it more appealing for them to leave Punjab. But I do fear that someday there will be hardly any Punjabis left in India though.
  2. Wow! Eazy there bro. I guess you don't have too many monay friends. :D
  3. I feel sorry for your kids. :D Anyway, this is a tough question to answer unless you have kids. It is easy to say I will disown them or accept them without having kids because you don't know what unconditional love truly means/feels like until you have kids. For the record, I don't have kids; hence I am a kid myself. lol The reason why I am stating all this because I have done a lot of crazy things in the past, but yet, my parents still stood beside me and continue to guide me to the right path which eventually it worked and I became a “good boy” through my parents’ eyes. :D Vaheguru ... you're right ... it is a tough question to ask unless you have kids ... but the same question can apply vice/versa ... what about kids who have gotten into Sikhi and their parents are not on the path yet ... would you just disown your parents and stop giving them the love they deserve for bringing you up? You don't disown someone just because they don't share your beliefs ... that's unconditional love ... we don't love our parents/children/brothers/sisters/friends just because we have to, and ditch them as soon as we feel they don't share our beliefs ... and you're right .. .everything is God's will ... if Guru Ji decides that your children may not wish to share your beliefs about Sikhi then maybe Guru Ji is testing you and your children ... Guru Ji teaches us to love all ... whether it's children/parents/friends/brothers/sisters ... no matter who ... I personally believe that if they choose not to share my beliefs about Sikhi and my way of life .. that is their personal choice and their own personal message from Guru Ji and with time ..he will show them the way...and give me the strength and love to continue to stick by their sides to assist in any way I can for them to realize Guru Ji's true message ... Vaheguru Exactly. Well said. Nice to see someone from Brampton posting on this website.
  4. I feel sorry for your kids. :D Anyway, this is a tough question to answer unless you have kids. It is easy to say I will disown them or accept them without having kids because you don't know what unconditional love truly means/feels like until you have kids. If you teach then sikhi from young age, recite them bani and tell them meaning of bani. tell stories of Valour and bravery of all our Gurus and shaheeds.I think by doing so they will be having love for sikhi. I remember at my childhood at night my father told me stories of Sikhs and Gurus each night. When i was in ninth i start to have beard, i was very shy and introvert , so in starting i start to hate beard, then ny father gave me books of Nalwa, Phoola singh, Nawab kapoor Singh. I started to recite Sukhmani sahib with my mothers help. Then in 12 i read Sikh Shahadat that turned this highly Indian patriotic to present sikh. I will also do so to my children. I have faith that they will take amrit when they are young with there own wish. Regards I hope you know that kids do rebel against their parents especially in their teen years. So I hope you don't just disown your kids if they decide to not follow Sikhi at all.
  5. yeh..okay... I see more "apaneeh" walk into Churches/ Mandhirs / Mosques than i see a Christian - blank or white - walk into a Gurdwara - we get MAJOR thrills when we see a black or white man walk into the PARTY of a wedding - MOST of them are capable of that - but its quite understandable that they don't wanna come to the Gurdwara as a general. I hear so much crap like this....what difference is their between a person converting by force or infront of everyone when a panjabee girl marries a Gora/ Hindu / Muslim? There isn't one - we don't take it as a threat because we can see them get married. Interfaith Marriages are a load of rubbish Agreed. It is hard to maintain your beliefs and practicing your faith when you're married to someone who doesn't believe in the same thing as you. Also, it is hard for a kid to follow both religions at the same time as well.
  6. You need a lot of money if you want to do something like that. One thing these Christian missionaries have is money.
  7. Yes it is. In fact, his oldest son started some movement/religion/sikh sect of his own called Udasi. When his son (Sri Chand) died, Baba Gurditta (son of Guru Hargobind and father of Guru Har Rai) took over Udasi religion/movement.

  9. Why are you judging on guy's look? That is kind of gay like how two singhs holding hands and singhs sending each other text messages kisses. :D
  10. Quick Question: If someone in Punjab asks you why he/she should follow sikhi instead of some other faith, how do you answer that question? If you want to win some people in Punjab, then you need to convince them Sikhi is the truth.
  11. Well said. I personally don't blame these people who follow other faiths instead of following Sikhi. Let's face it, Sikh leaders are corrupted these days. To them, money is their god. Sikhs need to stop blaming others for their mistakes. This also applies to Sikhs living outside of India as well.
  12. Word. I remember there was a Sikh awareness day thing at my college campus and all the people were asking questions to some Singh guy and the dude didn't know what he was talking about. He didn't even know why Sikhs keep their hair. :D LMAO Luckily, there were some knowledgeable Sikhs and people such as myself at the event. But yeah, I was laughing so hard that day. Oh man, it made my day. I think Singh guy felt stupid.
  13. Not true. I have seen younger Sikhs (even the ones wearing turbans) have white names. It is just not pindus. Even Sikhs who come from major Indian cities don’t know much about Sikhi. I remember a girl who moved here in Canada from New Delhi and she was shocked to see how knowledgeable Canadian Sikh kids are about Sikhi. Funny thing was she came from a family that males wear turbans. LOL Sad, but true.
  14. How come here in the west, most Sikh kids know more about sikhi than their parents? This is a serious question. :D
  15. Okay, the points you have made are quite obviously here. I don't think you're going to find too many people disagreeing your post here. The problem is that instead talking about this analysis here; it should be discussed at gurdwaras, Punjabi events and Punjabi media.
  16. Quote from BBC article: In Britain, the government said recently that private searches of turbans might be necessary as part of airport security. Let's see what sikhs here think about that, eh? :D This just proves my point that Canada is the best place to live in the world. Canada > USA & UK
  17. I don't understand why amerikkkan government is targeting Sikhs? Sikhs aren't the ones are bombing subways, flying planes into buildings etc... So why pick on them? Seriously, I hope Sikhs take this s.hit to court. I can't believe some of things Sikhs go through in americkkka. :D My advice to Sikhs in amerikkka: fight back or move to Canada. Don't let amerikkkans take your rights away from you. I just hope there isn’t any "uncle tom" Sikhs that will support this s.hit. :D
  18. Same here. I think that is what SGPC rehat states.
  19. Do you live in India? If not, then you're free already! :D
  20. Bollywood will always find a flaw to make fun of.
  21. same i aint heard one either!!! quick some giv us a demo p.s. Punjabi_Link 's a coconut - am messin lol :D :D I am not white washed, but I am Westernized/Americanized though. I would rather watch soccer (footie/football) than any Indian sports (like Kabaddi) out there.
