  11. The least we can do is take the address off the first page, and pressurize to stop printing, by all of us sending letters.....maybe we can make a set typed letter, and just sign your name on the bottom and send.....maybe I'm wrong
  12. Congrats! Amrit Bhenji, You truly are amazing. This can be clearly realized, by the inspiring interview, that was just read. God Bless ! Hope to see you soon!
  13. I agree. We shouldn't modernize our sikhi, because its perfect the way it is, but then why would we put ak47s instead of the actual kirpaans. I mean if you say that ak47 is just a shastre, but so is a kirpaan, obviously when the khanda was made during the time of guru maharaj, he had a reason for making what ever he made. I mean he must have had a reason to put the 2 khande there. If we WANT to perserve our history then i think we have to perserve the way our symbol was made too. Again, this is just my opinion, and i would be the first one to be wrong, so please excuse me.
  14. I dont know.... for some reason it bothers me to see khandas with ak 47s around them instead of the actuall miri peeri kirpaans. Maybe i'm wrong, but this symbol was made during the times of our gurus and like we all know each part of the khanda has a literal as well as a symbolic meaning to it. For example, The Khanda represents knowledge of divinity and the creative power of God. and the miri peeri kirpaans on the side represent/symbolize spiritual and temporal (earthly) power in balance. ( I got this info from google ) so yah and today when i see tshirts or a website that has a khanda but instead of the kirpaans there are ak 47s, it just bothers me so much, like i understand people want to mordernize our religion but i think if they want to they should atleast stay in limits. I dont know maybe im wrong, or i get the wrong feeling but then again im no one to talk.
  15. I've heard from many people that katha isnt done in darbar sahib because the only thing that can be read there is anything from the Siri Guru Granth Sahib and nothing else. But rather there is a building on the side (when you enter) where you can state your views and do vichar on gurbani, but other than that, I think it seems alright if the akal takht says that only gurbani can be read inside Harmandir Sahib and nothing else....I dont know maybe I am wrong Can someone please correct me or tell me if this is right.
  16. I think we're not allowed to eat meat in gurdwaras because everyone is allowed in Guru's Home, and everyone is allowed to eat langar in the Guru's home. So, in langar there has to be something that everybody can eat. Because the whole point of langar is for everyone to sit on the same floor, and for everyone to eat the same food(which symbolises equality of the sangat) . And so we dont cook meat in gurdwaras because everyone can eat vegetables but not everyone can eat meat, maybe because of health problems. Another reason we dont cook meat in langar is because langar is supposed to be simple, and something everyone can afford to do/make, and meat is considered as being expensive. I really dont know , please tell me if I am right or wrong. I dont want to get anyone upset.
