  1. vir singh yet again brings his valuable gyan to the sangat
  2. on one side your saying be tolerant but on the other your saying u dislike akj and understand why ppl criticise because they have cut an ang out of gurbani? there was a ragmalla debate a while back and no one came out with clear cut evidence. so no one has a good reason to dislike another jatha for their views, unless they are quite obviously wrong. and on the old shahstervidiya website it DID say amrit without the presence of the 3 granth was invalid. that is definately enforcing views. the fact is, everyone does it.
  3. thats my point......the AKJ can argue "im sure any like minded individual can understand my problem.....these taksalis have changed the rehat and tore away the keski from the womans head! they have changed the kakkar! they believe in the kacchi bani at the end of the SGGS! anyone can sympathise with that!" its exactly the same thing....it just depends which way you look at it. neither jatha is more guilty. and the nangs are a good example, becuz they claim to be easy going but say ur amrit is invalid if u havent got the 3 granths present!
  4. lets be honest. akj say they have the correct and most orthodox maryada that is the same as the one in gurus time. taksal say they have the most correct and most orthodox maryada that has been the same since guru gobind singhs time. nangs also say their rehat is the same as that in gurus time and thus everyone elses is wrong. saying that these groups dont spread their views is a blatant lie otherwise no one would take amrit from people with their jathas views since no one would know about them. your complaining of akj cutting an ang out of the SGGS is a perfect example - you are automatically right and they are wrong, thus u are imposing ur views. see? thats the way it is, theres no point saying one jatha is worse than the other. akj stress because taksali ladies dont wear keski, taksalis stress because akjers dont read ragmalla, and nangs are just generally stressed LOL they all impose their views really and i dont see that changing in the near future......ppl will hav 2 learn 2 live with it, or do thorough research and come out with their own conclusions.
  5. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! To avoid that pitfall, just don't tie it too tightly... It is better if it looks sorta natural, but held in place. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! have any of you just tried using a kangha on ur dhari instead o f tying it? it would save you an hour in the morning, its healthy for ur kesh and its the true roop of the khalsa. im not judging anyone who ties their dhari, but my dharis coming to a size now where its getting bigger, and i would never tie it, it just looks better when its as its meant to be. but then again if ur general style of appearance n dress is super smart tie suit every larr on phug symmetrical you might not have the same tastes as me.....
  6. kaam is kaam, under any circumstances. ur spouse is meant to be a spiritual partner. the (traditional) sikh concept of married life is different to the western one.
  7. actually thats a very good point. its mostly meat which has alot of iron. i doubt even saag has as much iron as some goat subjee.....lol.......nyways thanks guys.
  8. i didnt think it was possible but i read a thread on my favouritest sikhawareness on the negative effects of sarbloh bibek (before i carry on lemme remind u i am 100percent for sarbloh bibek, but im miles off even trying it)..... basically a few people claimed that using sarbloh utensils for everything was not good for the body, and aparantly "a bibi" got hospitalised for too much iron in her. well i did a search on google and it seems that only trace amounts of iron go from cast iron pans etc to food......so it might b ok.....but is sarbloh the same as cast iron? and if ur eating from sarbloh all the time cud it be bad for u? ive looked about and it seems that iron poisoning usually happens with kiddies who eat their parents iron tablets. but the RDA iron is 10-15mg a day. in the days when i was excited on protein and fat in food when i was training propa, i would have pulled out everything in the fridge and had a look at all the ingredients B) but i dunno.......10mg doesnt seem like much.......and toxic levels is 50 and over ?????? and is the iron released into the food iron ions or just normal iron atoms (unionized?) maybe someone good at science can answer this one.........i also read that ur average stainless steel pots n pans put nickel and stuff into ur food.....which is not good for u at all....so we are probs ok. overall im still skeptical its bad but theres a lil doubt..........maybe back in the day they didnt get to eat as much so made it up with extra sarbloh? n thats why SGGS says eat littl e?
  9. lol same but if u are staying there overnight, or for a period of time, or if u live there, then u do need good loos. i get really stressed out when i cant find a decent toilet, especially when im doing a no2, but i have seen a few gurdwaras in uk where they are quite ok.
  10. What Bhai Sahib means is that he took amrit from a panj pyare who dictate the rehat which fall in line with what teh AKJ believe to be the original rehat of Guru Gobind Singh. In the same way you can say you took amrit from the taksal - the panj's rehat they give you will be what they believe to be the original rehat. Yes it does sound a lil dodgy (not bashing AKJforever) but its a short way of saying the above. The fact is there are differences in rehat, and I personally think these differences can cause rifts but more often make us think more closely about what we follow, follow it more strongly and think more critically instead of following the status quo. From Puratan sources, it looks like arguments over Rehat started in Banda Singh Bahadurs time!
  11. u dont need to be a niddar singh to learn how to use a kirpan......ive never had formal training from a "kirpan teacher" and ive worked out how to use it.......ive also taught myself nunchuks (with a lil help 2 begin with) and im pretty funky with those a bigger problem then how to use a kirpan is the state its in - some titchy lil thing with a blunt edge, and the wood inside is really stiff so its hard to take out, now that is alot more useless. a sharp kirpan u can whip out quickly is wat u need.......
  12. i went to his house a few weeks back and he wasnt there - he had gone to delhi. that might mean bhai sahib has regained enough physical strength to start travelling etc. but im not sure so dont be sure either.
  13. no muay thai will not make u grow taller.....its just that most muay thai boxers are really built and huge to begin with its a good martial art to do cuz its VERY effective but if u want to take it very seriously (competitions etc) then dont expect to be in great health into your 60s cuz it smashes up your bones n joints pretty bad
  14. khalistani is a G the opinions of others in this forum might have more experience but they might be clouded with the dodginess that is post teenage life and "experience" as u might put it.....khalistani is seeing it from a totally gurmat perspective....having said that i dnt think its right to never see ur wife before u marry her (thats if u want 2 get married at all) cuz u might have conflicting personalities and then there will be a ruckus every day on whether u r gnna have saag or muttar paneer
  15. yeah i went to hardeep singh. however i couldnt get them ordered in time for before i left india there wasnt much stuff there when i went to be honest, i was a bit disappointed, and some of the stuff which was meant to be sarbloh pretty blatantly wasnt. having said that if i got ordered stuff im sure it wud have been heavy.....is there anyway for them to send em over to western countries?
  16. its a nice idea but its not gonna do much for integration of sikhs in the US really still cool tho
  17. i do see where u coming from but believe me.....once u take amrit......the naam raas will be a big enough reward lol i jus see the kirpan is just practical......ur never gonna get mugged by a shiddhaa....haha personally i do all i can, becuz ive still got plenty more 2 do that i find much harder! but u do have a point that there is no point wearing kirpan if you havent even done ur japji in the morning....
  18. i am not amritdhari but i wear my kirpan, because if we dont wear our kirpan theres no reason to wear the other 4 till after amrit either.
  19. considering how great sikhi is, it probably has the worst followers. if everyone took advantage of sikhi fully like other religions do, we would all be gurmukhs :T:
  20. "fault" not "faults" ny1....ny ideas on how 2 attach an image ?
  21. o wells no shahster for me then .......dumb*ss sikhawareness....lol ive taken a pic of my one, but i cant attatch it cuz its too big....max attachment size is 15k and my pic is 60k......wot do i do?
  22. theres no such thing as love. my gora mates are going out with one girl one minute saying "ooooh i love her, shes the best" and then 2 weeks later i ask them why they are all quiet and peed off and they go "oh i broke up with my girlfriend". love is just a mix of loads of kaam and moh. its probably the best trick maya has up her sleeve, i reckon, lol love for guruji is totally different to love for a worldly thing. can you "love" your worldly possessions too?
  23. mugarmach singh from sikhawareness made ur kirpan!!!!!!?!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i cant go on sikhawareness, ive been banned there
  24. the sound they make when they hit is wiked. yeah 2, 3, 4, 5 whatever. its all good
