Dalsingh101 ji has described this in a very well manner. I am not very experienced to answer in depth. But it all depends on sharada. None of the spiritually enlightened Mahapurkhs will claim to be "Sat" Gurus.

Someone apologized for the actions of the shooter at the Candlelight Vigil and prayed for forgiveness. It was amazing to see people of different backgrounds get together to help overcome this situation.

If it was the other way around then Muslims would go around saying that they are NOT Sikhs. We are just going along with statistics because 9/11 attacks were done by people who claimed to be Muslims. Ignorant people therefore attack Sikhs believing that we are Muslim. We clear the misconception and say we are NOT muslims. Simple as that. This does not mean we have a problem against Muslims. Just means we are defining our identity.

Although I agree with most of your post veerji. I just had to comment on this. We killed a lot of innocent muslims then. Thats not right to glorify that act. And I say this with personal family members going to kill innocent muslims then coming back and acting tough. That era is not something to glorify. And did you know, in Malerkotla, Punjab Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj had given a bachan that the muslims in Malerkotla (a fair majority of the city) will remain unharmed throughout the ages and they have, not one was effected in 1947. So such a statement is not right.

Oh man. This is so harmful! Causes such a bad image of us. And especially to us Sikh Sangat living in USA. We will be seen as haters. WOW this is making me so mad! We already get targeted because of our saroop and ignorance about it now this too! Way to go.... and ruin it for all of us.

James Holmes might be mentally unstable which provoked him to carry out such an operation. I read that after the shooting he still felt like he was in a movie even long after he was locked up.

I am an American Sikh also and very proud of it. These sorts of protest will just spread more ignorance in the American population. What does the government have to do with this attack? Yes I do agree that they should maybe revise their gun laws and make them more strict. But US Government is not to blame for this incident it is the shooter and himself alone. I believe that every Sikh in American should take it upon themselves to educate people about our religion.

I live in the USA this is such a saddening incident. Waheguru bless those souls. This is such a horrible incident that occurred to our community. I have heard (its just a rumor not a fact) that the shooter had "9-11" tattooed on his arm. So hurtful and painful something like this happening to our brothers and sisters.

I think Salman Khan's role as a sardar in Heroes was pretty good, and Sunjay Dutt's role as a sardar in Sarhad Paar was also very good.

Because Bhenji Kirtan is Gurbani and Gurbani is Guru. Katha, like I stated above, may be opinionated. Inside Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib only Gurbani should be recited because its the truth and its our Guru. Therefore Kirtan and Katha cannot be compared because Kirtan is Gurbani.

I may be wrong so bhul chuk maaf. But I feel that a lot of katha from many Kathavachiks is opinionated and in Harmandir Sahib only the truth must be heard which is Gurbani. But if there used to be katha in Guru Ji's time then I ask for forgiveness for my above statement.
